[This...this is an unexpected turn in the conversation. Hermione doesn't think she's ever actually seen Malfoy drop his mask of pureblood superiority, ever. She stares at him for a long while before she finally speaks, initially with a flat voice.]

Yes, it is too late for an apology to fix everything, and yes, the things you said and did were cruel and unwarranted.

[She pauses, considering her words carefully. She can't just forgive him for all the horrible things he or his father had put her and her friends through. Not right now. But she thinks she might just at least understand perhaps why he did it.]

If that's true - and I sincerely hope you aren't trying to pull some horrible trick to get me to let my guard down - there are ways you could have still be seen to be falling in line with those beliefs without being such an arse about it. Even your father isn't as publically vocal about his beliefs as you were. Slytherins are supposed to be known for cunning. You could have found a way that didn't compromise you or make our lives hell.

[She sighs and looks away, one hand sweeping a strand of hair out of her face. She hadn't missed the clutching of his arm. She isn't an idiot - she knows what it means. And what it had required. It's a simple question, with no malice or judgement behind it. Just asked in a quiet voice.]

Oh, I found ways. I left you clues and trails to pick up to use in your searches. I at least used that image to hide what I was doing in the mean time. They were small things, but you guys were quick to figure them out. Just never knew who was behind the small trails.

But, you'r right I could have done more. I failed there.

[At her last statement, Malfoy tensed. So much for hiding it. There was a long silense before he spke. It was clear in his expression he was struggling over it. When he did speak his voice craked from time to time, but he didn't cry or let his voice waver too long. He couldn't allow himself to do that in front of her.]

--That fight. The one you had with my father and the Death Eaters? My father was punished for it big time. He tortured him repeated in front of us. He was so mad that he failed that task. He took it out on all of them. My mother and I were forced to watch the display. So even if you think he got away because he escaped...he didn.t

He took over our manner. Everything we owned became his. We were essentially prisoners in our own home. I--I joined in order to save my father and mother. I was trying to protect them. At the time I didn't realize I just gave him other means to torture my parents. I just wanted to protect them. But now if I fail there's no stopping him from killing all of us.

I doubt that the Ministry or even Professor Dumbledore could do anything to help us. Or would want to. So I doubt you'll have to worry about us too long.

[He gave a weak shrug and looked away from the device to compose himself.]

[Hermione can understand wanting to do something to save your parents, but this...she's just so frustrated at Malfoy for making that decision.

[She's just going to tell him bluntly what she really thinks. He's probably already realised, but it's her and it's what she does.]

It was a stupid thing to do. He brands his "followers" like cattle. He doesn't see anyone as his equal or peer. Harry told me what he did to them in the graveyard that night he came back.

When we finally defeat him - and we will - do you really think the Ministry will fall for the imperious excuse again for all those marked? Highly doubtful.

I understand you love your father but he did horrific things, killed dozens of people, including children. I know you don't want to hear it, but he deserved it.

He sacrificed his family - both you and your mother- for power and a pack of lies. He sold his soul to the devil and now you've sold yours.

I know you don't think you had a choice, but there's always a choice. You surrounded yourself with enemies, not friends. You think Dumbledore wouldn't help you but I beg to differ. You just need to ask.

[Hermione is really upset but she can't identify exactly why. She closes her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose and letting out a frustrated sigh. She's not trying to be judgemental, she's really not. But ..ugh why are boys always so damn stupid and stubborn??

[It's a moment before she speaks again, this time in a quieter voice as she looks off away from the PokeGear.]

Did you know that until just then, I didn't actually know if I made it out of that fight alive? Yeah. I was hit by a pretty bad curse. [She subconsciously rubs the centre of her chest where the curse had struck.]

I remember falling...fading to nothing.

And then I woke up here.

[She finally looks back at Draco.]

I've never wished you dead, before or now.

[Draco gave Hermoine a dead pan look.] You're really stating the obvious. I got to see first hand what he did. Not something I'm trying to brag about, but this sort of thing would keep you awake for hours.

When you're being pressured and having to watch those displays constantly with no allies at the time, it was the one thing I could think of.

[Draco frowned at Hermoine's latest comment.]

I'm really sorry about that. It was awfully bold of you guys to fight and stand up to them. Alot of adults wouldn't have. They had been surprised that you guys were there and were able to put up a fight. Their mistake was thinking Potter would have done that alone.

[Draco couldn't help but give Hermoine a confused look at her confession. He shook his head before responding. She wasn't as narrow minded as he thought she was. She actually was able to see the picture better then most and had a greater acceptance. He knew most people would have wished him dead for what he did. Yet...she's trying to learn his story as he was listening to hers. It was different.]

Does Potter and Weasley know how great of a friend they have with you at their side?

[She glares at him, unimpressed.]

Between you, Harry and Ron, and your collective lack of well thought out decision making, it's apparent that the obvious needs to be stated, Malfoy.

[She looks away, hand again subconsciously going to her chest. She wasn't about to tell Malfoy why they what been there or how they'd known to go - just because he was opening up to her now, didn't mean she trusted him at all. Especially since his decision making was clouded by emotion, like Harry's had been when he'd led them there. She also wasn't about to tell him that Harry had been about to go alone, until they'd all put their foot down.]

[In an annoyed voice...]

We didn't have a lot of options. It was fight, die or run until help came. We didn't go looking for a fight, if that's what you think.

[She sighs, rubbing her forehead. Malfoy had really messed up, and getting out of the situation was not going to be easy.]

Look Malfoy, let's not beat around the bush here. You don't like me and I don't like you. And one conversation is not going to fix 5 years worth of history between us.

However, I'm not heartless, so I will try to help, but you need to promise me that you're not going to stab me in the back if I do, and that you won't use anything we discuss against me or my friends.

Do we have a deal?

[Draco was silent for a while as he took in what she had to say. She really wasn't wrong at all with it. He couldn't deny the fact. He knew this was something that was going to take time to mend as well. The fact she was willing to listen or try to work things out said alot and he didn't want to mess that up like everything else. With a somber expression he gave a nod.]

Yes, we have a deal. I really don't have much to loose at this point here. You have the upper hand here with having been here long and understanding the world better. I can't say that things will be perfect and that I won't slip or make a mistake. Yet, I can promise that I will do my best to not mess this up.

[In all honesty, he was really tired of fighting and arguing. And having to prove himself to the wrong people. Maybe this was a blessing having arrived in this strange world and he was given a second chance.]

[She appreciates his honestly, if nothing else. If he'd promised it would all be roses and sunshine from here on she'd have some serious doubts about his sincerity.]

Right. Well then.

[Hermione pauses for a moment, gathering her thoughts on what Draco needs to know about being here.]

Let's go over the basics. As you've already probably learnt, this is a world of pokemon. Obviously we're not on our own world, and no one knows why or how people are being brought here or how they're being sent home. And it's not just people from our world, but a plethora of other worlds or realities or dimensions, whatever you want to call them.

There's one other key thing you should probably know, and I only know this because this is not the first time I've been here.

When you get sent home, it could be at anytime. You arrive back home at the exact second you left. And you won't remember a thing about being here.

[It's not an easy thing to come to terms with, but she feels Draco has a right to know.]
