Violet City. We need to be able to hit fast flying targets.

[ Horsea appears on screen, bobbing in the air beside him. ]

Progress is happening, but it's slow.

Ah, okay. Violet is either birds or bugs, right? You're trying to knock those out of the air?

[It sounds brutal, but then again, it's probably par for the course in Pokemon battles. Radley isn't suited to that and has chosen a different path.]

If you get a Rock or Fighter Pokemon, they can probably chuck a lot of flying targets. I'm not sure how they are in the Speed department, though. Some of my Pokemon can use the Swift attack, which sends a bunch of stars flying pretty fast.

We're working on that. Hard to find anything but birds and bugs out here.

Horsea has Bubble Beam, but it's not as fast as I'd like. Electricity could work, but...he's still learning.

[In the background a Shinx is chasing its tail.]

Yeah, Electricity could do it. Fire too, maybe. And Ice ... Water ... all of those types have some pretty fast attacks, Mr. Kaiba.

Yeah, I'm from home. A little in the future from your time, but I've seen video footage of you.

[blue_ice]

[Hm. He must be a ridiculous sight. From king of the KC empire to just another broke teenager with nothing to his name but a few animal companions. ]

So how does battling compare to dueling for you?

[ Obviously everyone from Domino is a duelist, right? No one could ever have any other calling in life. It's unfathomable. ]

[crystalmaster]

I'd rather be dueling, honestly. I don't think I can ever get into using living creatures for fighting.

[Especially after the past he came from back home. Sending living beings into battle still shakes him up because of that.]

[blue_ice]

It does feel dangerous. But how else do you survive?

[crystalmaster]

I only battle if I have to. I'm a breeder and I'm just opening a restaurant.

[His Pokemon: four Eevees, a Skitty, an Espurr, a Rookidee, and a Ralts, all peek at the screen. He's at home, so they can all be out.]

Being a business owner sounds so much nicer.

Breeding's that lucrative?

There's probably something business-related you could find to do too. There's usually jobs you can take on in the various towns. Some of the displaced people hire out.

Breeding can be pretty lucrative, once it really gets going. I only have two couples right now, but I'm hoping for more. I'll probably keep one of the eggs in the next clutch.

[He chuckles at the Shinx. Evie the Eevee and Cuddles the Skitty call greetings!]

I see your Shinx loves the camera.

Working for someone else...heh. Can't see that going too well, but if I must...

[ He battles on the road often, but he's still struggling with a budget. Oh, the life of one used to privilege.

Oh, they waved! Shinx vibrates happily, little jolts of electricity thrumming in the air. Seto looks a little wary, but he smirks anyway. ]

That's how I found him. He can't stay away from a challenge.

Yeah, I'm not fond of it myself. I've been my own boss for years.

[He hopes his business ventures will work out.

[ Shinx is a happy cub. He rocks back and forth, tail wagging. ]

So I guess you'd know a good amount about proper Pokémon care? I had a question or two about that.

I'm always learning, but yeah, I've picked up quite a few things by now. What do you need to know?

Any recommended foods I should be looking for? We've mostly been foraging for berries on the road, and I'm wondering what to buy when we're back in town.

[crystalmaster]

There's special kinds of Pokemon food. A lot of breeders come up with their own unique blends, but there should be some in the stores too. And there's desserts like PokePuffs, which both people and Pokemon like to eat. Pokemon also eat a lot of foods people eat, especially fruits and vegetables.

[blue_ice]

Thanks. It's most important to feed them well before and after training sessions, then.

[ Shinx and Horsea chirp their agreement! He pats their heads, feeding them another berry each. ]

[ Then back to Radley: ]

Where's your shop? I don't think I'm in the market for an egg yet, but I'm curious.

Yeah, it is. They need to keep their strength and energy up.

My restaurant's in Goldenrod City. I sell eggs online right now, but if I get more couples and a lot more eggs, I'll probably start selling them in person.

[blue_ice]

We're a little while away, but I'll drop by.

[ If he can afford it. He manages to get by in field battles, but it's not the most well-paying endeavor. ]

So who do I ask for when I get there?

[ He never did ask for a name...that's...something he should...probably get in the habit of doing now that he's at the bottom of the totem pole. And might. Benefit from asking for guidance sometimes. ]
