It's time for our summer CR meme. Which also features our Hisui time warp event! So feel free to use this CR meme as a plotting post for that event too.

Please share your ideas of interactions you'd love your character to have, or plots you are rolling around in your head that might need a few more folks. Is your character looking for a friend? An enemy? A rival? You could find it all here. And remember, the more detailed, the better! We all want all the CR, but specific plans, or at least a specific direction you want to take something in, will really help out everybody involved.

Like before, this CR meme will also include a template specifically geared towards Rocket CR. Please fill it in to let our Rocket members know how you feel about getting your characters involved in some crime.

Notes: I have Otakon at the end of the month, but pretty open overall. I'm in the NYC Metro area, so Eastern time, and I work a M-F, 9-5 office job. Right now, still working from home, so tagging isn't hard to do from a "I hope I don't get caught" perspective. But I do work for a medical news and information website, publishing articles, podcasts, and videos, so we tend to get busy when new COVID stuff comes out. This is also medical conference season, so we're busy at times with coverage for that as well.

Cliffnotes: Romelle is not going to like being transported a second time like this. She can be pretty pragmatic, but having her life turned upside down is NOT FUN. While she's pretty strong emotionally and has stepped up to do some pretty brave things in her life when it counts, she doesn't like to go seeking these things out if she doesn't have to. She's likely going to be pretty annoyed at Cara Liss for this. She'll be appearing in Hisui alone, and that'll panic her pretty strongly at first, so I'm open if anyone wants to find her before the Ginko Guild does.
Looking for: Pretty open to anything at this point. I don't have any specific plans on where to go with her in regards to types of CR, so come at me!
Recent post: I don't have an open post for her at the moment, but I'm hoping to get a Hisui catch-all up in the next few days.

It's okay, Romelle, Allura's here. Also... considering her more rustic lifestyle, even with Keith and Allura camping for a few weeks, Romelle might be really helpful with survival stuff.

Probably. She can definitely do any sort of manual things like cooking and cleaning using more primitive methods, repairing clothing, stuff like that.

Cliffnotes: Keith is definitely going to be pissed. There's also going to be an initial panic as he's going to be waking up alone away from his CR. So, that'll be fun. I'm open to someone else finding him before the Ginko Guild does. I don't have anything set in stone, but he's definitely up for exploring and trying to find those parts to get themselves back where they're supposed to be. (Cara Liss, if you send them further into the past, he's going to have more issues with you.)
Looking for: I'm open to any CR at this point. Though, shipping-wise, he's already in a relationship with Allura, and he doesn't handle poly well, so that's closed. I'm definitely open on every other front, though.
Recent post: I don't have anything, yet, but I'm hoping to get the Hisui catch-all up for him in the next few days as well.

Cliffnotes: Levi is a very hard person to approach and isn't one for authortive figures. Prior to the military life he was a thug in the underground world and did a lot of unsavory things. Adjusting to a civilian life style is very hard for him. When you do manage to befriend him he is loyal and steadfast. He is very protective of his Pokemon and the members of his team from his home world.
Looking for: I would like for Levi to meet more military like people. He's also started to get to know the Voltron cast and I would like for him to meet more since I'm aware that both casts interact a lot.

Cliffnotes: Tragic backstory is an understatement when it comes to Sion, but if you want to you can read a monster of a summary here and be horrified. Beyond that, he's been in Johto over a decade and has been a gym leader for a number of years now, so he's mellowed a bit. Still a big ball of issues, though, it just hides under that friendly, all-loving exterior.
Looking for: I've said it before, but I'd love to have him work up to being close enough to someone for them to call him out on some of his issues. It's no easy task, especially some of the deeper traumas, but it would be pretty huge to get him through that! Otherwise more friends is always good. He doesn't avoid getting to know people for fear of losing them unlike SOMEONE but he still.. worries sometimes, and takes it hard when someone he cares about does end up leaving.

If you really want an extreme challenge, you're welcome to try to court him, too, but uh. Good luck with that.

Cliffnotes: Shy kid sired by a fay who has huge hangups about his appearance. And being social in general. Has been improving a little on this point during his time in Johto, and is currently traveling/staying with Sandalphon!

Cliffnotes: Somewhat asocial old mercenary who thinks immortality's a curse and who's so deadpan good luck telling when he's actually joking. He has a lot of secrets and some very old traumas/emotional wounds he still hasn't gotten over, but if you need some hired muscle he's your man. He's doing the whole getting badges thing in Johto for lack of anything better to do; in Hisui he'll probably step up and quietly do whatever work needs to be done.
Looking for: People who won't leave him alone. Alternatively people willing to just... do random threads and see if something clicks. Geddoe doesn't always mesh with everyone but if you do get through to him he's pretty devoted!

Cliffnotes: Radley is an intellectual and very extroverted biker. He's emotionally damaged from things back home, including seeing and experiencing torture in a sadistic mine run by his rival, but he will do his best to hide this unless he breaks. Naturally, with so many people from different worlds and walks of life, he may make mistakes in communicating from time to time, but he never means any harm unless he's interacting with a bully or other jerk of some kind. He always tries to correct any misunderstandings. He's gentle and kind, as well as a good businessman and tactician. Business skills probably won't be of use in Hisui, however.
Looking for: Radley always wants friends. He would ideally like to connect with each and every YGO-related person! He loves meeting people from home, even from other time periods. In this Hisuian event, Radley is very upset but is doing everything he can to get everyone home quickly. If anyone needs comfort or kindness or a listening ear, Radley will take the time to be there for them. He's used to being a big brother or even a father figure back home and is very willing to serve such positions here, if anyone will have him. He's also good at cooking, if more cooks are needed, and he can sew, if anyone else wants to try to keep the clothes they came in.

Radley is running an Eevee Cafe and breeding business, which may be of interest to Rockets. I wouldn't want any of his main team to be taken, but they might be interested in trying to get some of the eggs. Radley and his Pokemon would fight furiously to get them back!

Cliffnotes: A very chill and cool guy who is a rock star, kinda. He's a very laid back drummer who prefers the rational and practical method of things. But this leads him to being slightly self possessed and hard to come from comfort zones, therefore he gets rather anxious tics. Hates confrontational things and prefers to stay out of stressful situations, to almost a fault. His fuse is long, but not infinite. He has a band now, Backroad Jam. Who he started with his Pokemon team. He had finally begun touring again, and is trying to look at his life as new and exciting now that he's in an open relationship with three men. He has side gigs working as a craftsman in Azalea and as a Breeder, but music is his passion.
Looking for: Someone who could challenge him in some way. Troublemakers are welcome here since he's so used to finding even ground. Loud and aggressive types to drag him around and cause him some stress. BE THE CHAOS TO HIS OBSESSIVE DESIRE FOR ORDER. But also people who could jam with him.

Canon: Haikyuu!!
Cliffnotes: Oikawa is a generally cheerful and caring person who has an obsession with volleyball and wants to go pro with it, and being thrown into the Pokémon world has sorta kicked that out of possible things. Pretty upset at first, but he got right into training and adores it, wanting now to be the strongest trainer he can be. He can also be pretty competitive, so if you want a rival, he's your guy! He's also got a bad attitude at times, especially if/when he's beginning to feel inferior to others. But he's working on it with the help of his childhood best friend turned boyfriend (Iwaizumi), and doesn't give up. It just makes him start to overwork himself and get smacked by said boyfriend for that.
Looking for: Literally everything, except for any romance right now as he's dating his best friend.
But for event things, he'll be having a Snover for a starter so if anyone's ever getting too warm, come poke the guy with a sentient snow tree monster. Real talk though is someone who can help him out on a few missions or with camping things. He's got basic skills for survival thanks to his travels and camping trips back home and can cook, but this is a whole new ballgame this month "roughing it" with monsters, so he could use any help he gets and he's determined to learn.
Also a few people to battle with because even with his boyfriend around, missions to do, and training & catching going on, he'll get a little bit antsy or bored and want to do more and make sure he's strong enough.

They could bump into each other in camp or wind up doing the same chores/tasks, or any number of things! She'll also be very interested in training up her new starter so they could wind up being battle buddies if Oikawa wants one.

CHARACTER
Name Cassandra; fearinahandfulof
Canon: Claymore
Cliffnotes: Half-human, half-monster monster hunter - the strongest of her generation - for a shadowy group calling itself the Organization, who was resurrected - using discarded flesh from a much stronger monster - alongside the ex former friend who had Cassandra's only true friend murdered before arranging Cassandra's own death. This ended about as well as expected, with Cassandra Awakening into a monster herself and, er, eating her ex (who was, to be fair, also a monster at the time). Then it got worse. Ended up dying two more times in canon, with the last one finally sticking - at least until she woke up in Johto. Tends to be a bit wary of scientists due to being a former lab experiment twice over (Claymores are made, not born, and the process is Not Pleasant). Science is fine! It's useful! But she's just going to stand over there while the sciencing is done, because trauma.

She's very loyal to (and protective of) any friends she does make, but she also has some major trust issues due to the whole "being betrayed and murdered by someone she once cared for, who also betrayed and murdered someone else she loved just to provoke her" thing. She also had very little contact with most of her fellow warriors, because most of them were either intimidated by her rank or disgusted by her brutal but effective fighting technique, so she's a little too used to doing everything by herself. Including monster hunts, which in her world typically have four warriors assigned to a hunting party. Cassandra soloed them.

Cassandra is going to be less than thrilled to find herself in Hisui and cut off from her pokemon, since at this point they're arguably the biggest constant in her life. Fortunately(?), she's from a medieval-ish world, so after a brief period of readjustment, she should be relatively okay from a practical standpoint. She will be wanting to keep herself busy, though, and she's probably going to need to be reminded to work with other people. She is probably going to end up with a Hisuian Growlithe for a starter.

Looking for: Cassandra has not had the best luck with keeping CR, and I have not been the best at getting her out and about. But she could really use some new friends. As mentioned, she's very protective and loyal... and also very socially awkward at times. She tends to favor directness, and does not like being manipulated (guess why). She's never quite lost her soldier's perspective, and after everything she's been through she tends to be on the cynical side, but if that's not a dealbreaker for your character, then hey.

She knows a little about Rocket recruitment via Scorpia when she was here, so she's not automatically hostile to Rockets, but I don't think she's up for any confrontations, especially with everyone stuck in Hisui.



CHARACTER
Name Shinobu Tsukuyomi; un_oiseau_rebelle
Canon: OC (Changeling: The Lost/Mage fusion)
Cliffnotes: A gifted mage from the early 1930s, who was kidnapped by a pair of True Fae who proceeded to treat him as their personal toy for what to him was five years - which turned out to be ninety in the outside world. To compound matters, he emerged half a world away in California, where he ended up being taken in by his "grandfather"... who's actually the copy of Shinobu left in his place by his Fae kidnappers. This has not done wonders for his self-image; nor has the fact that he's no longer fully human, or that due to the nature of his captivity most people don't see his actual appearance (his Mask looks different to other people depending on what they find appealing). Physically he's in his mid-twenties; chronologically he's about 110. He is from the same world as Steven Durante, and is One of Steven's People.

In Johto, he's done well for himself as a therapist for pokemon with behavioral issues, and he occasionally takes art commissions as well. Up until a few months ago, he was traveling with Claudia Kishi, and her departure has left him somewhat adrift and bordering on depressed. Has a (somewhat violent) Galarian Rapidash for a starter, and a (much less violent) Glaceon as a service pokemon. Neither he nor they will be glad about this separation, and Shinobu is actually liable to have flashbacks once he finds himself thrown through time into a strange region against his will again. He is definitely going to want to be keeping himself busy while they're stuck here, if only to distract himself from his own current emotional state. He'll likely want to try to communicate with the native pokemon, although he's not quite reckless enough to approach an Alpha for conversation. I'm still trying to decide on his starter.

Looking for: Shinobu has also lost some important CR of late, so he could also use some new friends, because he's been feeling very isolated. He tends to be polite and somewhat guarded at first, but he's generally pretty warm-hearted once you get to know him better. His sense of humor is on the dry side, and he also... well, he wants to like horror stories, but a lot of the time he finds himself a bit disappointed and thinking of ways to make them more horrifying. He's also an artist and would not say no to chatting with other artists. He's a bit more morally flexible than he seems, but he tends not to let that show very much (granted, some of that was because he was traveling with a very sheltered and idealistic teenager for several months).
Recent post: I've mostly just tagged around with him for the past while, but he does have a festival toplevel here.

Are you down for Rocket shenanigans?: Much like Cassandra, he's been having a hard time of late, so I'm going to tentatively say no for him too. That said, he would not be averse to working alongside any Rockets if it gets them home faster. He's actually had a number of good friends among the Rockets (and known they were Rockets), including the aforementioned Steven. I don't know if that would make any difference or not.
What type of things are you okay with?:
✓ Non-battle, but still hostile encounters with Rockets. Though this will probably just get the Rocket in question a long-suffering sigh and a "Can it wait until we get home?"

wrong journal but I can certainly offer up Sion as someone to get to know who's been in the game for years and isn't likely to be going anywhere anytime soon! He's also one of those all-loving types who can get along with just about anyone, to boot. unless you mess with his bff in which case he can hold a grudge like nobody's business
