It's time for our summer CR meme. Which also features our Hisui time warp event! So feel free to use this CR meme as a plotting post for that event too.

Please share your ideas of interactions you'd love your character to have, or plots you are rolling around in your head that might need a few more folks. Is your character looking for a friend? An enemy? A rival? You could find it all here. And remember, the more detailed, the better! We all want all the CR, but specific plans, or at least a specific direction you want to take something in, will really help out everybody involved.

Cliffnotes: Allura is a space elf lion princess from a mechanic anime reboot, currently takin a break from freeing the universe from a ten-thousand-year-old evil empire and suppressing the trauma of losing her planet to catch Pokémon and just enjoy being a space-elf-teenage girl… and only *slightly* suppressing her trauma. Right now she and her boyfriend Keith are traveling Johto on the gym circuit, but the cast also has a house on Four Island in Sevii that they visit decently frequently.
Looking for: Always looking for new friends for Allura, especially peers (girl needs more people her age to hang out and relax with). She’s very intelligent and interested in learning about VR!Earth’s and otherworlders’ cultures, but also a skilled warrior and wouldn’t mind a sparring partner. In VR she’s very interested in field journals, shell collections, and makeovers including manicures, but you can never have too many hobbies. She’s spoken for, so no shipping please. Not interested in negative CR for negative CR’s sake, but a bit of friction might be okay.
Recent post: WELP. That sure happened! So Allura will definitely be a go-getter and try to take on as much as she can with jobs, camp upkeep, and explorations, probably falling back into old habits of overworking herself. Please tell her to rest. She’s an experienced Trainer halfway through the Johto circuit if you need protection or help training, and a good tactician even who’s slowly getting the hang of wilderness survival with her months on the road. (She’s going to be a bit cranky about being away from her team and not having access to proper beds or beauty care thanks to Cara Liss’s damned pathological science.)

Cliffnotes: Mission command, in a way, for the player character. Until just after her canon points where she becomes God, but w/e. She's trying to grow her reputation right now, and is looking to take on the gym challenge while experimenting with strategies. Since last CR Meme, she has also become terrified of Emet-Selch and Dirk both, and has gotten two badges. She's been training herself... to protect herself, of course.
Looking for: So. Minfilia. She has been getting used to the modern stuff of Pokeworld... but here? Here, she's more in her element. She may begin by staying at the camp... to help coordinate people! To help them get ready! And to teach them more about travel and how to keep yourself safe when the monsters want you killed. She feels... comfortable. (Except she will refuse to sleep or stay anywhere near to. Well. Those Two Who She Is Scared Of.) I do want her to aid with one or two special missions, but again! She's slipping into a confident role. In a land where beast and man fear each other, she is home.

I have an idea for a camp improvement thing but I don't wanna? Steal the idea from anybody, or we can have muses collaborate on it? Anyway, she is considering making a secondary notice board to allow people to leave messages to each other. Yes, fully anon but also it'd be cute.
She'll also have a Stantler starter. Listen she was gonna catch one anyway--

She will be concerned about her Pokemon, since she DID just get some eggs, but she trusts in them. (Even if, just imagine the mental image of her male Meowstic trying to pretend to be a trainer during this time and said Meowstic and her cartographer Snover wandering randomly.)

Cliffnotes: Iwaizumi is your typical tsundere... kind of. He's a good guy, to the right people. His hearts in the right place and he is uncompromisingly loyal. Coming from a sports background (He was a volleyball ace!) into the world of Pokemon was an intense culture shock for the poor boy, but he now loves his pokemon and has been enjoying himself. He misses home, but having his bestfriend (and now boyfriend) with him has helped a lot. And don't worry, just because he knocks Oikawa on his butt doesn't mean he does that to everyone!
Looking for: Iwaizumi is beginning to settle into a life here and he has, up until now, mostly kept to himself. He would love to make new friends. He isn't the type to have a huge circle of them, but he does enjoy having a few close friends he can rely on. He's very loyal, honest and hardworking. There isn't a thing he wouldn't do for his friends. So if you're in the market for a tsun friend, this is your man! So basically ANY CR would be more than welcome and highly loved! Though be warned, it might take a minute for Iwa to warm up. But he does warm!
As for what he plans on doing during the event... a bit of everything! He's open to exploring, taking on tasks/quests/jobs whatever is needed of him!

Still, she has a good heart, and cares deeply for humanity and helping others. Oh, and she used to pilot a giant sentient robot that may or may not have contained part of her own soul. You know, no biggie.

But now that he's roughing it in Hisui (welp), it's time to get down to business and train! Please say hello, he doesn't bite (often).

Looking for: Anyone willing to help a newbie? He'll be very frustrated with the situation and unafraid to voice it, complain as he does his chores, and...uh, still have no idea how to care for or work with Pokémon. He'll catch on and ask for help soon. He's surprisingly scrappy and I'd love to spend this event having him prove himself so he might...actually be willing to play along once he starts his journey proper in Johto?

I definitely plan on having him join search groups if anyone's willing to have a newbie along. He'll learn he can't do everything on his own, not with the wild Pokémon raging all around. Maybe if he cooperates he gets to go back home?

TL;DR, an angel who has some major self-worth and abandonment issues and can't socialize for shit, but is definitely trying his best to get better at that. And he has, given that he's gotten a boyfriend in Corrin! He also has a love of coffee that is rooted deep within him, so just be careful about not liking coffee around him. (he's getting better I swear)
Looking for: Sandy needs friends, this is not optional. He will be prickly at first but he will open up and be nice if you're just nice back. Sandy's also looking for business partners/entertainers, given he plans to open a café after his Gym Circuit. And last but not least, he realized he actually needs to take care of his body so he's definitely looking for people to help him spar and just... teach him about food. He needs a lot of help with the food department.

BUT HISUI THINGS.... Sandy is not okay with the lack of coffee in Hisui so withdrawal symptoms? You know it!! But other than him suffering the lack of caffeine in his system, he will definitely try and scout out missing pieces of the machine, if only to get his precious coffee back. He will help out in other places as well, but his main goal is to get himself back home. He does get a new outfit, too, just haven't decided which one. As for starter? for the new event i'm thinking of a hisuian sneasel, a combee, and... i dunno. she's mostly going to be really cranky this time around because she'll uh. be kind of in survival mode? but she'll help people out still if needed. turns out she's pretty good at surviving off nothing.

Cliffnotes: Carly introduces herself as a Breeder and a Gym Leader to most, but she's actually a high ranking Rocket agent (and also a Gym Leader, and also, technically owner of a photoshop and ice cream booth, all on Two Island, but that's a mouthful). She's married to Joylne (who's no longer in the game but hopefully will be back at some point), and lives out on Two Island in the Sevii Islands, where it's nice and sunny and tropical!

She can present as a pretty huge goofball, over-emotive and excitable to a T, but don't be fooled! Carly's plenty canny behind that attitude, and while most of it is her just not using any restraint, that doesn't mean she can't- case in point, she's got a pretty iron-clad persona for crime, and when she gets serious in any situation she gets serious.

In any case, don't worry about that- she means well! She's a sweetheart! She will absolutely not let you drag her into a pit if you start falling into one though, and she'd like to make that clear.
Looking for: Since I rather fell to the wayside on activity beyond the minimum for Carly, I'm looking to get her some more solid CR bonds- from both existing CR, and new CR that doesn't even exist yet! Consider that an opening to link any posts on that note, because I'll definitely look to tag them.
Recent post: N/A, though I will be sending her off to Hisui of course.

ROCKET PARTICIPATION FORM

What type of things are you okay with?: Carly is notably a Rocket Alpha, and that means she's often responsible for a whole clutch of other rockets. In her case specifically though, she trains up grunts in a very specialized form of stealth and subterfuge, and she takes it REALLY SERIOUSLY!

As such, while she's still down to occasionally help with something like a major heist or similar, if she considers the risks to her own branch- which has pretty much made up for the lost ground in the Sevii Islands region- to be too much, she's probably gonna say no. I say probably, because she might also just make a few suggestions! She knows what she's doing!

Obviously since she's a Rocket herself, I've removed the participation checklist, because it would be rather silly to try and scam your colleagues for the good of rocket driven evil.

Cliffnotes: A nightmare dressed up like a daydream. Rose is fiercely independent to a fault and has, for the most part, been relying solely on herself here thus far. While she's begun to show a little bit of vulnerability, she's still, by and large, avoiding any true attachment to anyone and insistent on doing everything herself and being on her own.
Looking for: A couple of things I mentioned recently I'd love to explore with Rose are:

★ Finding a place or group of people to 'settle' with. I've been struggling a bit with feeling kind of disconnected from the game due to her IC nature of, like, not wanting to attach to anyone or any place. I'd like to try and curb that somehow and have her settle for a while somewhere or find a consistent travel group of folks.

I think this event would be a good opportunity for it, actually, since everyone will kind of be starting from scratch and needing to help each other out!

★ Gym battles! After finally getting over being conflicted about battling with her Pokemon, I want her to maybe hit the gym circuit (after this month) maybe a network post about asking for advice regarding that in August? Seems like a good topic to touch on for new and old CR.

★ She's musically inclined and I've been handwaving/background mentioning that she's trying to make her way as a musician! She probably does small gigs in nightclubs in the bigger cities but is, like, low tier level and probably not any kind of recognized yet. If your character's also one to be into music, that's a good CR hook so lmk!

★ She also has a """famous""" Pokemon on social media; it's a Slowpoke named Momirobara that she dresses up in cute outfits and is very fat and lazy and adorable and people love.

He might try to hire her to sing at his restaurant. :) Radley really likes Rose and would like to get to know her better in general, but he's pretty well-settled in Goldenrod and doesn't seem to want to move, so if she's still wanting to travel they might not be able to hang out as much as he might like. If OOCly you're thinking of having her settle somewhere, though, maybe we could try out Goldenrod?

Canon: Final Fantasy Xiv
Cliffnotes: Emet-Selch is an entirely too old sorcerer (of eld) who is kinda like an artichoke: spiny and tough on the outside, but tender in the middle with a big heart. However, he's also an artichoke that's gone a bit bad, but not all of him has been rotted, but a fair bit. Which is to say, while he was once a very kind and upstanding person, he has now given into his disdain for most people (mortals) and has little issue with causing people (mortals) distress for his own amusement and the like. His empathy isn't completely gone (it never could be, he's actually highly empathetic to his own suffering) and so he can find himself getting attached to people (mortals) he thinks he shouldn't, likewise doing kindnesses to them in his own grumpy way.

He's extremely an acquired taste, and there's a good chance he will aggravate people before friendship can even begin to be considered, but once befriended he is extremely loyal (but also still hugely critical). He is known to help the helpless or pitiable, especially if he can empathize with them, and he's also a bastion of knowledge, but he only gives that knowledge out to those he deems worthy of it. In summary he's just a huge tsundere who comes across a bit like a megalomaniac at times, but most people would if they've lived as long as him and had his accomplishments under his belt.

For the event, he'll be getting Cyndaquil (cuz hisuian typhoslion is just him in so many ways), and while he'll have little interest in going out foraging, perhaps he can be heckled into it. His weak spot is actually people pleading for help, because under those rotted and twisted artichoke leaves, he still has his heart.
Looking for: Honestly new cr in general, friends, enemies, whatever. Emet has been a lil too comfy in his established cr, so I'd love to mix it up a little! Who wants to go camping with grandpa??

Looking for: Cecil will be starting out with a Hisui Sneasel and probably catching a Teddiursa along the way, which means he'll be aiming to buy a Peat Bloc (and maybe a Razor claw?), which means he'll be doing a lot of gathering missions. Also, it's been a long time since he's had large and new areas to explore. Since his original game loves its mountain so much, he'd particularly want to go through Mt. Coronet, if anyone else is interested.

Really though from his canon point Marik is trying to come to terms with all the terrible things he's done over the years. He is just a sheltered teenager that doesn't know better, especially now that his darker self has been removed from his soul. He still has darker tendencies that slip out from time to time but he's trying to learn how to keep himself in check.

Looking for: Everything and anything. Marik considers this place to be a second chance at life, to learn new things and enjoy being a kid. He isn't super outgoing as he's hesitant in what might appear overeager or just fake which is ironic because he's kind of faking everything to begin with to feel "normal." Chenzira (his Yamask) is the only one he tells his inner thoughts to.

I absolutely love domestic, mundane activities. Him getting to experience something as simple as going swimming or stargazing is really fun to me.

On the flip side, I'd also love to get to indulge his darker side. He's still prone to drastic mood swings and finding himself not caring that he's done terrible things. He's been doing everything in his power not to let that side of him out, to come across as this sweet, naive teen who's just trying to make the most of his life. It would be a lot of fun to have a few people know/learn about that side of him.

Also Chenzira making more friends and doing adorable Pokémon things together.

Cliffnotes: Vinegar Doppio is a somewhat nice, somewhat meek and somewhat dim young man who happens to be in Team Rocket. He was also the right-hand man of a powerful mafia boss back in Italy. Oh, and (spoilers for Part 5, highlight to read!) he shares a body with that very same powerful mafia boss, whose name is Diavolo. It's sort of an anime DID thing but also literally two souls in one body. You know how it goes.

Thanks to his professional experience, Doppio seeks to climb Team Rocket's ranks, but he puts up an upstanding front as a traveling trainer. In addition, he's a member of the Legendary Seekers (though he's actually just spying for Team Rocket shhhh). He enjoyed a few moments of fame as the protector of Phione's egg last year.

Looking for: I would love any and all CR, he needs more of it! Friends to make (note: he is not used to having friends), people to catch on to the fact that he's more than meets the eye... He doesn't have a traveling group, and frankly he's not interested in one, but that means he's a bit isolated from time to time!

Kazuki’s outward most persona is that of a golden retriever. He’s a sweet, bumbling, clumsy puppy that just wants to give you his paw and get the Milkbone in your pocket. He’s genuinely kind and friendly to everyone, and thus, everyone seems to know his name.

And that really is him. He’s not putting on a front. He loves music (he plays the trumpet professionally, and was studying to become a music teacher). He believes the best in people. He loves to have fun, and having fun with his friends even more. All he wants is everyone around him to feel good and be happy.

However, he’s also fairly self-aware. He knows he’s too much sometimes. He knows that he can be annoying, and he’s not really the smartest, and that he’s “anzen-pai,” the safe choice, the obvious virgin. I’m not joking. He calls himself that. I can’t make this shit up. So he also carries a quiet sort of sadness in him as well, and suffers a bit from imposter syndrome, as he’s not as musically talented as his peers.

He's been in VR for coming on 5 years. In that time, he's developed the Silver Horn, an inn for people and a rehabilitation center for wild Pokemon. His doors are open 24/7 to anyone that needs help, or a soft place to land. If a character wants to work there, or help out in general, there's a sign-up on the provided page!

Looking for: Kazuki is definitely my most open character. Because of his kind heart, he's likely to engage with nearly anybody at least once. The Silver Horn also acts as a great icebreaker if you want your character to get to know him. There's very little that is out of his character when it comes to positive interaction. He's also a pretty easy target for negative CR, but he's not the type to engage in bad behavior. If you're looking for a new enemy, this is not your guy.

I basically just want him to be friends with everyone, because that's what he's good at. I'm also open to shipping and/or relationship attempts from either gender. While he's from a datesim game, he's never been in a relationship. And he's 23 now, lol.

I also want to do more music related stuff with him in the near future.

LEGENDS EVENT: Kazuki will be starting with a Teddiursa and wearing the Tangerine Festival Top with Cyndaquil Fancy Bottoms and the Tangerine Geta Sandals. As for what he's actually doing-- he might need a crew to roll with? He'll be helping out the Gingko Guild for sure, because he's just that kind of guy, but he's normally alone out at the Silver Horn (Rei is there sometimes I guess) so he doesn't have anyone he'd naturally fall in with. Anyone out there have room for one more?

Looking for: I am always up for new CR!! Shiro has been here a long time (long enough to where my swiss cheese brain has lost track), and has access to pretty much every town if he's needed somewhere. He has a habit of sticking his neck out for people who look like they need help of any kind, or talking through new arrivals.

He will absolutely be throwing himself hard into the special missions and daily tasks during the Hisui event, because overworking yourself is totally a healthy way to deal with this, right? Cliffnotes: I play Jean post-timeskip, right before the raid on Libero (for those that are in the know). He's 20 now in VR. He's been here for nearly 3 years.

Jean, on the outside, is a very confrontational, prickly person. At first, he tends to interact with people in an antagonistic kind of way, either providing bait or taking it, and seeing what comes from that. It's pretty easy for him to get into a frenemy relationship with basically anyone who will indulge him. But that's just his surface level.

Once someone is able to break through his tough outer layer, they'll find that he's actually quite a loyal, steadfast person. He's very much ride-or-die with the people that make into his inner circle. Despite being an incurable asshole, he has a fairly strong moral compass, and has a tendency to fall into philosophical arguments due to the horrible nature of his world and the life he's led as a soldier.

He honestly should have completed his gym challenge a year ago, I've just sucked at the maintained required since I started working full time lol. He really enjoys Pokemon battles, and high speed trick flying on his Mega Pidgeot.

She's got a sense of compassion and justice that her family and teachers didn't quite manage to beat out of her and a few months in Johto has been really good for her capacity to function like a rational person but she's still liable to blurt out some really unsettling shit like it's normal. She's adjusted enough to not be completely glued to her canonmates' side like she was for the first month or so she was here, but she's still a little at a loss for what to do with herself outside of the context of the cult of Lolth. Might be dating Cordy, neither of them seems quite clear on whether they're actually a thing. Hasn't quite started her gym challenge yet because that feels a little too much like conceding that she's here long-term, and was just on the cusp of getting her golbat to evolve into a crobat before All This happened.
Looking for: Vierna's opening up a little on the friendship front, but she's still a little hard to approach most of the time - growing up in a city where the capacity for trust and mercy are considered character flaws will do that to a girl.

On the other hand, she's from a decidedly pseudo-medieval canon, so the time travel event is going to be... pretty much business as usual for her? If your character needs help figuring out how to function without their modern technology, she might be able to offer some grumpy help.

He has recently started knitting and other crafts like that - he's practicing an old Galra version that has basically been forgotten so if someone wanted to learn, he'd be happy to teach. However, he would like more people to train with - not just Pokemon as he is skilled at hand-to-hand and what is essentially parkour. Also he's the current incarnation of a super-powerful extra-dimensional demon thing but it's fine, that's totally unimportant...

More relevantly, he's been in Johto for eleven and a half years at this point, he's a co-gym leader with his best friend, he's trying his best to actually be a smidge useful maybe, and he's very tired. Ask him his opinion of the new regions that pop up every three years or so, it's fun.

Looking for: Ryner needs more friends. Especially people who will aggressively try to friendship him, because he is a lazybutt who is jaded away from putting in the effort because he's been here for over a decade. Please friendship him.

As for Hisui, Ryner is going to be starting with a Hisuian Growlithe, and he'll probably start by loudly complaining while gathering supplies for camp, if anyone wants to join him. The complaining is just how he copes, don't worry about it.

The Homestuck Epilogues features Dirk Strider from Homestuck becoming aware of the ongoing Narrative (and in fact unable to stop receiving it into his brain.) This is a feature of the thinning bopundaries between the various Dirks and Dirk-derivative characters across all of Homestuck, in every timeline. Also a feature of this is the ability to 'control' the Narrative, which basically means Narrating directly into it using his mind, or putting words, thoughts, and actions into the heads of others--although his capacity to do so varies wildly depending on who it is. That doesn't matter though because he won't admit it.

Anyway, he embarks on a mission to save 'canon' (a tangible thing now, which he is also physically, metaphysically, and metatextually aware of) which involves starting a new Session, ruining everyone's lives for a good(?) cause. and puppeteering a couple of Daves, at least one of which he means to have kill him. Because, you know, now he's the villain. A reality-altering villain with direct influence from Lord English and Doc Scratch (and so on.)

A lot of Bro parallels are evident. He named his spaceship the Theseus. Also his relationship with Jake imploded and he's coped with that poorly.

But also he's been in Victory Road for like four years now and he's bored and depressed but pretending he's not.

Some things are going okay. Looking for: Dirk is going to be a HUGE cranky asshole for the first part of this event. I am HAPPY to have him get into it with literally anyone, but it would be nice to get some new CR or even rekindle older CR, positive or negative! I love negative CR (frankly, I apped him because I THRIVE on it) but positive CR is so precious for him, even if he makes it real fucking hard to keep.

Cliffnotes: Karako is a young lad of unknown age that loves Troll Warrior Cats Soldier Purrbeasts, soda, and adventure! He's an observant Clown, which is to say being a stoner murder juggalo is his religion and he takes that very seriously. He is also a RUNT, which means he should have been culled as a grub, and while he was raised illegally by some cloistered Jadebloods, he has some difficulties anyway. Like, you know, the fact that he's a cull-on-sight kill target where he's from, and the fact that he can't speak. He can only honk. You know, like a bike horn.

As a human, he looks like he might be 8-10 years old, has thick curly black hair, a gold fang for one of his canines, and unusually sharp teeth.
Looking for: Anything! Karako is fun to have negative CR with, and I love when other kids tag him because he doesn't really act like a normal kid and kids don't even care. He's pretty adverserial if you try to adopt him or (heaven forbid) keep him safe or restricted to one place, though. Also, don't be a bully. Murder is fine and in fact he's itching from understimulation as a clown, just don't be un-fun about it.
