CR MEME!

It's time for our summer CR meme. Which also features our Hisui time warp event! So feel free to use this CR meme as a plotting post for that event too.

Please share your ideas of interactions you'd love your character to have, or plots you are rolling around in your head that might need a few more folks. Is your character looking for a friend? An enemy? A rival? You could find it all here. And remember, the more detailed, the better! We all want all the CR, but specific plans, or at least a specific direction you want to take something in, will really help out everybody involved.

Like before, this CR meme will also include a template specifically geared towards Rocket CR. Please fill it in to let our Rocket members know how you feel about getting your characters involved in some crime.

Canon: Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters.
Cliffnotes: Gaming tech billionaire with a serious sore loser problem in a Power of Friendship canon gets friended at. Resists. Only sort of barely softens by the end. But now that he's roughing it in Hisui (welp), it's time to get down to business and train! Please say hello, he doesn't bite (often).

Looking for: Anyone willing to help a newbie? He'll be very frustrated with the situation and unafraid to voice it, complain as he does his chores, and...uh, still have no idea how to care for or work with Pokémon. He'll catch on and ask for help soon. He's surprisingly scrappy and I'd love to spend this event having him prove himself so he might...actually be willing to play along once he starts his journey proper in Johto?

I definitely plan on having him join search groups if anyone's willing to have a newbie along. He'll learn he can't do everything on his own, not with the wild Pokémon raging all around. Maybe if he cooperates he gets to go back home?

(He thinks 'home' means back to canon. That's gonna be painful when he finally ends up in New Bark Town. Whoops.)

He initially gets along best with younger kids and people who seem non-threatening, but the rough situation will hopefully soften him some. Not gonna survive if he doesn't learn.

I'm happy for them to meet in Hisui, all the characters are gathered together in a campsite...I was thinking of putting up an intro log later today, he's going to be Very Angrily Adjusting.

I just have to pin down a Hisui starter first :P

Oh dear...yeah, Kaiba's probably a little more willing to be charitable to the only person he recognizes in an even more desperate situation.

I'm starting him with Kingyoku the Goomy. He's a slimy boy who just wants to play in puddles. If anyone tries to tell him that this thing will become a dragon, he won't believe them.

Hey there, welcome to VR! I'm Rook and I've got an aggressively energetic dumbass that wouldn't mind partnering up with a newbie. Kirishima here's a professional superhero (in training) where he's from and he's been in VR for almost two years now, so he's got some legitimate credentials behind him. He's the best friend of his canon's aggressive, over-achieving, prideful asshole so it could work out? If you want, he could also be the one to try and gently break it to Kaiba he's stuck for the foreseeable future... after he's already done some good deeds, of course.

I'd be down for all of that! Kaiba definitely needs help...and to redirect his aggravation to a productive outlet. He's usually willing to listen.

Yup! Kirishima's no genius, but he's pretty decent at making ones with an ego do what he wants. Plus he's jacked and not afraid to try manhandling a nerd like Kaiba for his own good if it comes down to it!

I was thinking of throwing up an open post for Kirishima for the event and can make you a private starter if you want! Or if you'd rather do the honors, you can. The ideas that readily occur to me are some Ginkgo member telling Kaiba he's not allowed to accept a mission on his own and Kirishima overhears him, or maybe Kirishima finding him already out in the field and sweeping in to help out with some trouble he ran into? What are your thoughts?

I'd be happy to jump into the catchall.

Fortunately he realizes that his little goo dragon can't fight off big scary Pokémon and won't make him try, but Kaiba's still awkward about asking for help and will probably try instead to sneak past the big scary things.

It probably makes the most sense for him to get caught by a large but not alpha Pokémon, as Kirishima doesn't have his powerful team along and they need a reasonable chance of survival. Maybe just an average Luxio, or something around that threat level.

Oh my god a Goomy... I love that for him. Kirishima is going to be with a Growlithe, so Luxio would be perfect! Maybe this can be a crossing of chores/patrol since the special missions haven't been announced just yet, and if they click, they can go look for a machine part?
