Go Red-Eyes!
[Tossing a Pokéball into the hole sets off an explosion of light and a large black dragon Pokémon appears. A fire on its tail casts light across the pit, and allows Joey to see more clearly from the pit's edge. With the ability to better ascertain what was happening in the crevice, Joey's heart stopped. It was Serenity down there.]
Hang on Serenity! I'll get you outta der!
[He points to his Charizard.]
Get her outta der Red-Eyes, and be real careful too!
[The dark dragon holds its arms wide for Serenity to grab hold of it, the warmth and light of rescue made manifest in its hulking form.]

( she covers her face when the pokeball splits apart and a large dragon appears. the flames on its tail illuminate and warm the area. she moves into it a bit to gather heat since she had been cold from the rain outside. )
Joey!
( it really is him! relief washes over her — her big brother is always there for her, even in the most random of cases like this. hurriedly, she closes the remaining space between herself and the charizard, essentially hugging the big lug. )

Serenity! Are you ok?!
[He crouches by the Charizard, his arms spread wide to hug her, but makes sure to be well away from the edge of the pitfall. They just got out of the frying pan, no need to tempt fate by falling into the fire.]

J- Joey... I- I'm okay... That was so scary...
no subject
Der der sis. You're safe now. I got ya.
[Lowering her back to the ground Joey pats her back reassuringly with his hand as he holds her. Despite the unpleasantness of the situation he can't help but smile, as finding his sister in the middle of a dark cave was not what he'd expected when he set out to explore that morning. Whether this meant he had the very best of luck or the very worst of luck he wasn't sure, but whatever it was he was just glad to have been able to be there in his little sister's time of need.]
How'd you end up in here Serenity? Did someone bring ya here?
no subject
I was just walking the route when it started to rain really, really hard. Eevee and I just took refugee in the cave but I didn't realize I'd gotten so close to a pitfall...
no subject
Well I'm here now, so I'll make sure you safe as can be from here on out. You and ya lil' friend!
[Crouching-down, Joey digs through his backpack and produces a poncho as well as small fold-out umbrella.]
Here ya go sis! Why dontcha hold on ta these until we can get some propah rain gear for ya? I got a buncha campin' stuff too so we'll be good on da road.
[He hands the items to Serenity and gives a grin to her Eevee.]
How long you and da little one been in here? And how did'ja even get in here?
no subject
Thanks Joey. You're always there for me when I need you the most.
( she's always able to count on him for literally everything. she should have known that he was going to be the one to find her and guide her back to solid ground. he just always seems to be there when she's in need. to the grin he offers at her eevee, she trills happily at seeing him sensing the bond between her trainer and the hero who rescued her. )
We haven't been here that long... Umm, I got lost on the routes and then it started to rain, so, I hid in there but it was too dark and I didn't realize there was weak ground there...

You don't gotta tough it out in da rain no more, cuz I got all da campin' gear you can dream of in here. I've been hoofin' it outdoors for like da past six months now, so I've got all da gear. We can make a full-on adventah' outta it, with grilled cheese, s'mores, n' all dat jazz!
[Joey looks at Serenity to see if the idea puts her mind at ease, but also puts his mind to how would be best to go about pitching camp given the surroundings. Maybe head back out and set it up at the entrance? Eh. That's a bridge to cross when they get there.]
Would dat help ya feel bettah aftah... [He points to the pitfall] ...dat? We'll get some warm food in ya and give ya someplace safe ta sleep, n' den lookit what's next in da morning when it ain't rainin' cats n' dogs.
no subject
You've been doing this all by yourself for six whole months?
( and her brother has somehow gotten even cooler. )
That's impressive, big brother! I'll follow your lead, but, it does sound nice to get somewhere warmer and have a bite to eat.

[Joey picks up his pack and beckons Serenity to come with him to the cave's entrance.]
It's prolly best if we set up shop eitha near or on da entrance. Dat way we got room ta spread out n' don't smoke da heck outta ourselves if we make a fire. Means we get'ta watch da rain too!
sorry for delay.
Actually, watching the rain sounds kind of fun... Big brother, is there anything I can do to help you get everything ready?
Re: No worries! Hope everything is ok! :)
Heck yeah! Watching da rain is gonna make da campfire extra cool too, so dat'll make da hot chocolate and da weinahs taste even bettah!
[Crouching down by his bag, Joey begins unlacing the half-dozen different tubes and bags that were affixed to its sides with the familiarity and speed of someone who's done this more than their fair share of times.]
Der'll be stuff ya can help out with for sure once I get a little further-in ta makin' camp, but for now I'm gonna pull out a blanket and I want ya to get yaself warm ok? Caves are cold'ta begin with, and adding a scary experience like dat on top of things ain't makin' it any bettah an experience.
[Fishing out rolled-up camping blanket Joey unfurls it wish a swoosh. It was made of that dark gray-green wool so much camping equipment seemed to be made of and had a slightly itchy feeling to it, but promised a wonderful warmth thanks to its thickness and weight.]
Dis oughta be just da ticket. It's even a little warm already from sittin' against me!
totes! just busy weekend and start of the week. :)
she's watching him get everything out and prepared for, just somewhat in awe of him. serenity has always been so very, very proud of her brother and often times acts as his biggest fan -- because she is. when he retrieves the blanket, serenity takes it as it's offered and wraps up in it. even with the itchiness, it's eagerly welcomed because of how cold she is after all that time in the rain. )
Thanks Joey, you really are the best big brother anyone could ever ask for.

It's da least I can do for da best little sistah in da whole world! You know I got ya back Serenity.
[He gives her a grin before pulling a Pokeball off his belt.]
We ain't even stahted yet doe'! Go Alligator Sword!
[Joey throws a Pokeball just outside the cave entrance and it erupts in a ball of light to reveal a large blue-green crocodilian creature.]
I need'ja ta find us some decent stuff for makin' a fire ok? It's all gonna be wet, a'course, but do da best ya can.
[He flashes the Pokemon a thumbs-up and it returns the gesture before lumbering-off. Joey then returns his attention to his tending to his sister and sorting through the myriad of equipment he has.]
Alligator's Sword loves da watah, so he won't mind da rain one bit. With a little luck he'll bring us some decent wood, and Red-Eyes can staht us a fire right aftah.
[Unlatching a camping kettle from the side of his pack, Joey produces a couple of packets of drink mix and tosses them to Serenity. Were she to inspect them she'd be able to see that they containted a couple of different blends of hot chocolate mixes. There's one for a minty blend, one for a smooth blend, and one for a classic blend, and all come with little marshmallows.]
I've only got da powder stuff I'm afraid. I tried bringin' da real good food along when I first stahted travelin' but I learned real-fast dat the fresh kinda stuff don't last too long, and dat eatin' food dat ain't in a good state is a real bad idea when ya livin' outdoors.
[Grimacing at the memory, Joey shakes his head and returns his attention to the tast at-hand.]
It's a lotta sealed n' dry foods now. Dey're not as tasty as da stuff you'd eat normally, but dey stay bettah a lot longah.
