i. Route 29

Crookedkit hadn't expected to wake up back at Mom's house when he had...well. He thought he had tucked into his nest in the RiverClan nursery after a busy day with Willowkit and Graykit, but the truth of that assumption is up for debate. Why does all of this strangeness always happen when he's sleeping, anyway?

Whatever. He had expected to wake into Mapleshade's gloomy training grounds, not New Bark Town. When he'd gone to sleep, Crookedkit hadn't even remembered anything of his last visit here, but it had all come rushing back the moment he woke up. Naturally, then, he wasn't in a panic, but rather excited! On his feet, Frecklefur weighing down his back after safely tucking away all of his most important goodies, and out the door, to...oh, right. His last time here, he'd been somewhere else - or, to put it more aptly, he had been in such a state that he'd scrambled right onto a boat first thing. Naturally, then, the first thing he should probably do is explore the place he had neglected the first time around, right?

And there's so much to explore! Route 29 is a whole new forest, filled with a bunch of new Pokémon! The excitement of it all is enough to have him scampering all over in the cold in his swimsuit, freezing his poor toes off. Someone who sees him like this might be inclined to help him warm up, but watch out - this overeager trainer is one quick to issue a challenge!

ii. Network

Frecklefur is still with Crookedkit - and that's wonderful! - but she wasn't his only buddy. Notchfang, Briarspark, Curlstorm...where did they go? He had thought that maybe he just needed to kill some time until they found their way, yet the longer he waits, the less likely that's feeling.

It's a lucky thing he has Twoleg friends to ask about this. He posts his video to the public, mostly by accident. He's more comfortable with the PokéGear than he used to be, but he's not that good.

"Hey," he starts, rosy-cheeked but spared some shivers thanks to Frecklefur's iron grip on his shoulders, "I don't know if anyone remembers me, but I just got back from RiverClan. My Poke-mon friends are missing...I've been looking for them, but it's really cold and I think Frecklefur is getting tired. I think I might need some help...have you seen them anywhere?"

I think there's a place in Kanto where your Pokémon go when you leave, but I'm not sure where exactly it is beyond that.
