[All of a sudden, a head rises above the tall grass... and then another. Two heads that looks distinctly like some kind of... Ostrich? Do those exist where Gaige is from? Either way, they're clearly the ones that were squawking, and now they're eyeing whoever had just so happened to run over their trainer.]

Ow, ow ow.... [A groan emanates from the grass. Rakka's the last to rise to her feet, but she's also rubbing a sore spot on her arm from where she landed. Not exactly how she wanted training to go, but what else is new.

[Vaughn lifted a hand to his beard, scratching at it as he tried to parse out the psycho-babble that the man was spewing. Beard made sense, he was used to being identified as such by the other psychos he had met (and killed, or at least chased off). But shield lady...]

Athena? [Vaughn's eyes widened. Finally, something familiar and at least slightly less likely to kill him.] You know her? Angry lady, only slightly taller than me? [He lifted a hand up, hovering it over his head.] Looks like she wants to kill a man. Probably has some bloodstains on her?

[For a long moment, Angel was left to gaze at her ECHO device. Gaige had been here once before, at least to her memory. It was like that here, she was beginning to find. People would appear and then disappear, only to reappear a short while later, perhaps for good.]

[Even still, she couldn't bring herself to speak at first. Gaige had been a dear friend to her, and just like before, it was hard to believe it was really her. Also holding her back was the very fact that, as far as Angel knew, Gaige thought her dead.]

[Talking to the dead was overwhelming. She'd begun to figure that much out.]

[But Gaige was still a friend, and Angel knew just how badly she had needed a friend upon arriving in Johto.]

Um... [Angel cleared her throat.] One nerd, reporting in. Unfortunately, there are no mechs to speak of here. At least, not on my end.

I have memorized that much. My own world operated on similar elemental powers though...it was slightly less complex in some ways and more complex in others. And we humans had control over them rather then leaving it to the local wildlife.

[That was about the reaction she expected. She closed her eyes for a moment, torn between laughing and cringing. Instead, she craned her neck, as if moving herself around might help her examine Gaige's potential injuries.]

[Upon finding nothing, Angel settled back down. She let out a breath.]

[Gaige sits up so overwhelmed she is at a loss for words, which is probably the first time that's happened in a long time.]
