[ ACTION ]

If you look up, you might see something on the tops of the buildings. Not a bird Pokemon, not a plane, not a superhero! Some eighteen-year old punk running across the rooftops like he's racing, flowing over the ledges, vaulting over vents and leaping between buildings like a bird. Seriously, if he misses a beat he's going to end up with something broken if he's lucky. To add to a parent's nightmare, there's a Pokemon following him. A Riolu was eagerly racing with him, throwing itself into the activity with gutso.

He fnally travels down to a building with two floors nearby, taking a seat with his legs dangling over the egde of the building and looking really pleased with...well, everything.

"Holy shit, there's not a single pidgeon spike around here! You doing good there?" He asked the Riolu, a touch of an Irish brogue in his London accent. The Riolu nodded and flopped down beside him.

[ Video ]

[ The screen opens on a scruffy young man who is grinning widely. He's holding up a Rockruff, who is also grinning with it's tongue flopping out and wagging it's tail. ]

Check this shit out! I found another dog and it's so awesome! She doesn't go on two legs but she's got rocks in her fur! And check out the blue eyes she's got! [ Now all you can see are the Rockruff's big, admittedly very blue eyes. Then she presses her nose on the screen, smudging it until she's brought back and Ash can be seen again. He puts her down, stretching his arms. ]

Aaaaand I think I got some of my powers back. I'm gonna try it out now real quick- [ He puts the camera down beside the Rockruff and backs up, facing a large wall. Wit a running start he leaps up it, managing to get a good three feet up...then scrambles and ends up falling down it. ]

...Fuck man. I thought I had it! [ :C He looks pretty sad now. ]

_{[A WINCE. Oh, man, he just...couldn't look away. He knew what was coming and yet--]}

Sorry, dude. Our powers are long gone.

Maaaan...I used to be able to get up ten feet! [ He's come back to the Gear and flops on the ground letting the Rockruff climb on him. ]

Least these guys are cute. Like there's unicorns and shit back home but you can't train them or nothing. They'll kick your ass for even thinking it.

_{[Maurice's wince soon turns to a smile when this guy doesn't seem THAT bummed. There's a puppy climbing on him. It's hard to be sad when there's a puppy.]}

Haha right? And I'm pretty sure most rinos don't wanna sleep at the foot of your bed!

No way! And like, I couldn't take a dog on a run with me. But my other lil guy keeps up just fine! [ A Riolu pounce sonto his stomach with the Rockruff, also grinning. What a happy bunch of fools! ]

Oof-! I gotta come up with names for them. I was thinkin of naming one after my dad but he ain't really a 'dog'. He's a seal. Which is kind of a water dog but you ain't allowed to say that cos it's kinda insulting. I mean nobody calls dogs 'land-seals'.

_{[He laughs as the Pokemon tumble over him. TIME 2 HELP.]}

Your blue werewolf guy looks like a Spike t'me!

You a Spike, mate? [ He asks the Riolu directly. Who thinks, then shakes his head. ]

How'd you name your ones? You got some too, right?

[There's a steady clapping sound once Ash and his Riolu finish their run. Down on the ground, Anthy had come to a stop to watch the young man and his Pokemon, and now she smiled up at them, thoroughly impressed. The Aipom on her shoulder is clapping, too.]

Wow! Good job, that was amazing!

"Aw, thanks!" Ash called down, waving back. He looked around and found an easy way down, dropping to the fire escape and then the last five feet down. His Riolu jumped down with him, landing on his shoulder with a fancy flip.

"Figured it'd be easier to talk if we're on the same level! What's your name?" He grinned to Anthy.

[She waits patiently as he comes down, the Aipom balancing its tail hand on her other shoulder to lean out and look at Ash and this Riolu inquisitively.]

It's nice to meet you. My name is Anthy, and this is my friend Junior. [She points to the Aipom, who makes an affirmative sound.] What's your name?

[All of this is said quite evenly and softly.]

"I'm Ash! And this here is Danny. We only just showed up around here. Well, I have. Danny was born here and all that." Danny waved from Ash's shoulder, hand holding onto his trainer's messy hair.

"Are you a local or did you just wake up in this place too? Cos I'm so fucking lost about everything. Still." He hadn't been here long but he was still confused about how this place worked, why he was here and why he couldn't use his magic. And still worried about how angry and distraught his Dad was back home, trying to find him.

Yes, I woke up here recently, too. But it's very nice here - I don't mind staying for a while.

[Yes she does. She minds so very, very much. There are things for her to do. And yet, she's here instead. As if reflecting that thought, Junior the Aipom tilts its head, giving her a confused look.]

It's a little confusing, but I'm sure we'll be able to figure out a bit more soon.

"Man I hope so." He couldn't hide a worried look, scratching his chin. "For some reason I can't even put my Dad's number into the comm they gave me. He's probably stressing out."

Danny kicked his feet, giving Ash a curious look. A thought clearly dawned on Ash his expression clearing like clouds from a blue sky. "Unless - tell me if you see or hear about a blonde haired guy named 'Oisin Fox', yeah? And if there's anyone you're looking for, tell me and I can help you out too!"

[She was going to respond with her usual "Sure," something pleasant yet empty-sounding, even if she would keep the name in mind - but Ash's offer actually seems to strike a tone with her. There's a slight shift in Anthy's expression of perpetual nicety into a soft, considering, serious look.]

...Do you mean that? Truly?

"Of course." He shrugged easily. "It'd be rude to ask you for help and not to offer help back, right? And, you just said you're new here. We're both a bit lost. I can't imagine you ain't got someone out there who you'd like to see if they're somewhere around here."

He gave her an open, casual smile. It just seemed natural to help out someone in the same boat, especially when it was a situation like the one they were in.

[There's a pause before Anthy's expression shifts to a smile.]

Thank you very much. There is someone I'm looking for. Her name is Utena Tenjou - if you happen to hear of her, I would very much like to know.

"Utena Tenjou. Got it!" He'd need to repeat the name several times to make sure it stuck in there. If he thought about it more, he would've asked what she looked like. Woops. "If I see or catch wind of her, you'll be the first to know." Danny nodded eagerly. He would help!

"Hey, dya have any other Pokemon? I caught another one but apparently there's hundreds to find!"

[Oisin Fox - she'll remember it.]

I do have one other one, but that's all. I'm still not quite sure why we're encouraged to find so many, but I wouldn't mind making more friends.
