Hello there! Yes, you're on the network - anyone else with a Poke'gear can see you, too. My name is Jane Crocker.

[Now that introductions are out of the way...]

I do believe I've spoken to your friend here before! It was a while ago, but I still see her on the network from time to time. Chances are, she'll see you, too, and she can get to you fairly quickly. I wish I remembered her specific ID number so you could just call her directly...ah, but for now, if you have any questions about this place, I can certainly try answering them! I've been here for about half a year now, so I'm not an expert, but I'd be happy to help.

[Also, getting answers about a strange new place is reassuring, this Jane knows very well.]

Thanks, I think it's starting to come together for me- I don't really get the part where we're supposed to make these little creatures fight, though.

It's actually recreational for them! They enjoy it - for the most part - and there's an abundance of services dedicated just to make sure they're healthy and well.

[Jane doesn't say, "This world was pretty much made to center around that fact" because that's weird, but.]

And no, we can't. But besides that, we've got a fair amount of freedom within the region.

[That's a little relieving to hear. If Asami was going to be stuck here, she'd rather not spend her time forcing animals to fight.]

So we train these pokemon, fight with them, earn these badges at gyms... and then what? Sorry if I sound skeptical, I'm not used to my kidnappings being this nice.

If you earn enough of them, you can challenge stronger and more skilled trainers, and eventually get a gym of your own to run. But mostly, things can go at your own pace, and it's pretty much encouraged for folks to make whatever sort of life for themselves that they want here. I honestly don't know if I would call it a kidnapping at all.

Encouraged by who?

[Asami's experiences with the mystical has always been minimal; she's used to being able to take something apart and find the problem. Sure, this place was non-threatening but there had to be a who and why to all this. Right?]

Could someone end up spending their entire life here?

[Here's something that's got to be totally helpful and not annoying at all: a shrug.]

The society? I mean...nobody outright tells us it's what we have to do, but it's what most people tend to do, and life here is centered around Pokemon. If it's a long-running line of activities that's readily available, why not try it out, right?

As for that...I don't know. Sometimes people aren't here longer than a month, while others have been here for years. Our length of stay is incredibly random.

I guess there are worse places to end up. Someone else told me it's like we're not even gone back home. Can I ask how long you've been here?

Mm...about...five months? A little more than that? Though I've heard of folks staying here for years, too.
