[Seriously, who talked like this? Was she trying to make Daria feel welcome? It felt a bit forced. Not many people could be this chipper and happy, genuinely. Maybe she was trying to make Daria feel comfortable...but sunshine rhetoric at every moment just didn't sit right.

So far, again, Daria didn't want to be the person that was horribly nasty to a kid who may or may not just be overly nice. She genuinely didn't want to, and kept that thought in the back of her head. There were more pressing matters than dealing with children, funny enough.]

We're still trying to get used to this "forced journey" thing, seeing as we were chosen by the forces unknown to go on such a life changing quest.

And the sun will just say hi right back! I bet it'll be super happy to see you roaming around in the sky too!

[Just get use to it, Daria. You're talking to a girl who loves sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows here. It'll be impossible for her to not be so cheerful and especially toward somebody who was so new to this place.

That and when people were nice to her when she arrived, it was only fair to do the same to someone else who was in the place as she was]

Well, I wouldn't say "forced". Yeah, I know it kind of sucks that we're transported into some weird unknown world for whatever reason but you don't have to go on it. I know I didn't.

But, I guess you don't get anything done staying in an unknown town with people you don't know. With no money, or food, and barely a purpose.

[She was just stubborn about this. Sure, no one was forcing her. But there wasn't that much smartness in staying and waiting.

She knew that, hence her somewhat turnaround.

Hopefully the sunshine this person was emanating wasn't getting to her.]

[...She was exhausted. Maybe this girl was actually nice, but it was just...really hard to look at this critically and really SAY anything. That wasn't something that was hard for her to do. But now, she was just so lost and stumped. She just made a "hum" sound, honestly trying to wonder if this was worth getting irritated about. It wasn't helping. Maybe she thought it was but it wasn't. Being thankful for things wasn't easy when you were fresh out of one scenario onto another.]

I was content in a comfy little dorm room writing down my next paper and then suddenly I'm here in a place I don't know. My cash flow or means to contact anyone of acquaintance is moot.

[That and Mabel really has no idea what else to do around someone who wasn't just as equally cheerful as she was. While Daria was right, it wasn't a good thing to be able to stay here for a long period of time, Mabel didn't seem to care at the moment. Right now, all she wanted was extra time with her brother before going back to school and starting her teenage life.

There wasn't really anything wrong with wanting that, was there?]

Then maybe I can help you out a little! If you're here, maybe there are some people from your world here too! Just tell me who you're looking for and we get get started!

[Was this sincere? Did she really aim to help her out? Probably she did. But it was hard to see just how much she could get around here without someone to help. It made too little sense to really reject help. Of course, if someone she knew actually WAS around...well, that wasn't an idea she could reject either.]

Alright. If you see a taller girl with dark hair, piercings, and with the same expression I have right now that goes by the name "Jane"...tell her Daria is looking for her.

[As Mabel did a quick salute, there was a pause on her end. After all, she had been lucky she arrived in this place with her brother and her friends too. She can't imagine how lonely Daria might feel]

...And you know what. If she is here, I bet she's looking for you too.

[...She would, should she? Daria could believe that. Surely. There had to be reason to believe that she could be here and this would help.

She made a nod, which was the first approved look she gave to Mabel. As much as there was a disconnect and personal disagreements...she seemed to really care about helping.

It got her to think. Then she thought too hard, and then she didn't want to mull into it right now in front of a kid.]

Unless if she remembered she owed me ten bucks.

Nah, I highly doubt it. Not unless you had to owe her a thousand bucks or something. Then that would be something worth remembering!

[After all, if she knew Dipper had to owe her a bunch of leftover candy from Halloween, she would definitely track him down to the ends of the Earth! But the moment that Daria gave a small look toward her, she couldn't help but smile softly.

At least she was able to make the older girl happy somehow. She really has no idea if Jane was even here but it was worth a shot.

And especially to see someone feel less lonely]
