Route 30!
[It is, perhaps, not a rescue she'll appreciate much right off the bat, for reasons that will shortly be obvious... but it's a rescue nonetheless.]
[Somewhere above the tangle of brush and caterpillars is a rustle, and then the unmistakable WHOOSH of something heavy landing on a foliage-heavy branch, making it sway and bend. When or if Eileen and her unexpected posse of bugs look up to see what it is, a pair of fierce crimson eyes are staring back.]
[Crouched on the bough with a long, lanky arm hanging onto a higher branch for balance, is a monkey. A very large monkey. A very large monkey that appears to be, quite literally, burning at both ends.]
[The Infernape lets out a low grunt, mouth set in a humorless frown as she regards the hapless human below her. Hmph. Screaming and crying over a bunch of Caterpies? Ones that probably don't even know how to do anything but shoot silk and Tackle? Color her unimpressed.]
[Fortunately, it's only a second or two before another human voice sounds out from a short distance away-- for better or worse, the monkey will not be Eileen's only option for aid.]
RAZZ! We've been over this, I can't go Tarzan-mode through the woods like you can!
[It's the voice of a young woman, probably not far off from Eileen's age, and it's accompanied by audible undergrowth-stomping as its owner tries to pick her way through the long grass in the direction of the Caterpie snuggle-session. Snorting through her nostrils, the Infernape visibly rolls her eyes. Yes, Trainer, she knows you can't keep up with her. She just also doesn't care.]
[She does, however, lean her head back and let out a few low hoots, seemingly to let this other human know where they are, and after that, it's only a second or two before the other human being finally stumbles into view, swatting away a low-hanging branch and kicking dead leaves off of her hiking boots.]
Jeez, I swear this route gets less newbie-friendly every time I come back-- WHOA.
[CATERPILLAR GIRL HAS BEEN SPOTTED.]
Holy crap.
Are you okay?
You've got... uh. Bugs.
[Heather Mason: providing astute observations about the obvious since 2003.]
no subject
when infernape jumped out before eileen and the gaggle of caterpies, they rotated right behind her back to hide from the creature, even trying to get up under her dress. with her purse she nearly began to whack at them but topped at the hoots that came from the creature before her.
by the time heather finally spotted her and pointed out the obvious, eileen had stumbled down onto knees and looked petrified by the situation. )
Please...just go that thing—
( referring to the infernape... )
might attack you, run for help!
no subject
[So when Eileen clearly gestures to the Infernape as being the most alarming thing present, Heather is hardly insulted. In fact, she kind of makes a face like she just realized she committed an obvious social faux pas, and glances up at Razz sheepishly.]
Hey Razz, uh-- give us some space, okay?
[The Infernape sniffs disdainfully, giving Eileen a direct (and derisive) stare before turning and hopping off the bough, her fiery tail flickering in the dappled forest light. FINE, YOU GUYS CAN DEAL WITH THE CATERPILLAR MENACE YOURSELVES. She's gonna go find some fruit.]
[Once the monkey's out of view, Heather turns back to the other woman with a crooked, apologetic smile.]
Hey, it's okay. She won't attack, she listens to me.
... Most of the time.
Here, I can... uh, help get those things off of you. If you want.
Okay?
[She takes a step closer, raising her hands-- but clearly knows better than to just approach like everything's normal. She has no desire to get smacked by somebody in the middle of a panic attack.]
no subject
but clearly they were still clinging onto eileen. )
Which part um....of that is most of the time? ( the 'attack' portion or the 'listens to me' part because both of them meant quite different things. despite that though she gave heather a very wide and nervous smile of her own. ) Oh, yes please....what are these things anyways? They feel so....gross.
( at those words the pokemon all immediately took on a whimpering face, still clinging tightly to eileen. at least this was far better than facing a murderous ghost on the hunt for another sacrifice. )
