Joseph Joestar | Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (Part 2)
i. New Bark Town
So, Charmanders. Normally they're pretty sweet when you first get them. Normally it takes until they evolve, or at least outlevel your abilities as a trainer, before they stop listening to you. Not the one Joseph was handed, though. He'd thought it was so cute, until it bit him and curled up for a nap right when he was trying to leave Mom's house to go exploring.
"Come on, Rush~! I'll give you a.... lizard treat... if you just work with me for a second-!"
The Charmander does not care. It opens one eye, and then closes it and pretends to be asleep. After a while, if no one intervenes Joseph is just going to grab it again and start exploring the city with Rush under his arm, one hand clamped over the Charmander's mouth so it can't bite him again. And it will definitely be trying to.
ii. Petal Gym
Rush is still being carried under his arm, although the Charmander has finally stopped struggling and just accepted that he's coming along. He won't stay in the Pokeball either, so neither of them are enjoying the process of adventuring together so far. Joseph has been wandering around in random directions, just taking in the sights and staring at every new Pokemon with that classic mixture of confusion and awe, until he finds his way over to the Petal Gym.
He's not sure what to make of it - it looks pretty unimpressive, especially to his wealthy tastes. He's been told about Gyms, although he's not sure if he fully understands the concept, but... 'petal'. This one must be easy, right? He's smart, maybe he could just kick their asses with Rush and have a shiny new badge to work with. Assuming he could get the dumb lizard to do what he wants.
And as if on cue, Rush manages to get his mouth free and breathes an Ember at him. Joseph manages to mostly block it with his prosthetic hand, but the glove he uses to mask it sets on fire and he drops the Charmander with an unceremonious thud and a whole lot of choice swears.
"God damn it, now I have to buy more gloves... you little bastard, get back here!"
Too late, Rush is scrambling away to hide under a bench and hiss at him reproachfully.
PETAL GYM OH MY GO DDD also shout out to roll of 19
So, setting his admittedly intimidating jacket and cap aside so that he just looks like some lanky young man in black and khaki, he gets a few poffins ready and heads for the bench.
He can handle the trainer later. Right now, there is a lizard who can burn his whole building down! So down he gets to his knees, poffin held out-
"Hello... ..hey. It's not really safe under there...but if you come out, I can probably find some good charcoal for you..."

II Hello Gramps
Ah. And not anymore. The man frowns as he hears Joseph's loud yells. His eyes furrow as he sees the chaotic scene.
"Oy you, punk," Jotaro calls out, walking over. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

ii, ish!
Regardless, Loop's missed all the fuss - they've been out doing some cleanup work for Emporio on the gym arena. And now they're back, balancing a rake and shovel over their shoulder. (Their Metang is floating behind them, lugging some tools herself.)
Loop is also surrounded by an absolute swarm of itty bitty squeaking Skitties, courtesy of another New Bark Town resident. The kittens seem convinced that Loop will have food, and are bouncing along and generally getting underfoot while Loop determinedly trudges along. (Maybe they made the mistake of feeding one or two earlier?)
When the Skitties see Joseph and Rush, you can practically see their eyes light up with the thought of a potential new target. Loop just isn't being cooperative this time! The whirling swarm abandons them and charges at Joseph - think fast.

Route 30!
[It is, perhaps, not a rescue she'll appreciate much right off the bat, for reasons that will shortly be obvious... but it's a rescue nonetheless.]
[Somewhere above the tangle of brush and caterpillars is a rustle, and then the unmistakable WHOOSH of something heavy landing on a foliage-heavy branch, making it sway and bend. When or if Eileen and her unexpected posse of bugs look up to see what it is, a pair of fierce crimson eyes are staring back.]
[Crouched on the bough with a long, lanky arm hanging onto a higher branch for balance, is a monkey. A very large monkey. A very large monkey that appears to be, quite literally, burning at both ends.]
[The Infernape lets out a low grunt, mouth set in a humorless frown as she regards the hapless human below her. Hmph. Screaming and crying over a bunch of Caterpies? Ones that probably don't even know how to do anything but shoot silk and Tackle? Color her unimpressed.]
[Fortunately, it's only a second or two before another human voice sounds out from a short distance away-- for better or worse, the monkey will not be Eileen's only option for aid.]
RAZZ! We've been over this, I can't go Tarzan-mode through the woods like you can!
[It's the voice of a young woman, probably not far off from Eileen's age, and it's accompanied by audible undergrowth-stomping as its owner tries to pick her way through the long grass in the direction of the Caterpie snuggle-session. Snorting through her nostrils, the Infernape visibly rolls her eyes. Yes, Trainer, she knows you can't keep up with her. She just also doesn't care.]
[She does, however, lean her head back and let out a few low hoots, seemingly to let this other human know where they are, and after that, it's only a second or two before the other human being finally stumbles into view, swatting away a low-hanging branch and kicking dead leaves off of her hiking boots.]
Jeez, I swear this route gets less newbie-friendly every time I come back-- WHOA.
[CATERPILLAR GIRL HAS BEEN SPOTTED.]
Holy crap.
Are you okay?
You've got... uh. Bugs.
[Heather Mason: providing astute observations about the obvious since 2003.]

New Bark Town
And new beginnings are what he's all about today with his brand new baby Seel gallumphing along at his heels. He lets the little Pokemon splash along the shoreline as he sneaks a smoke (he's supposed to be quitting!!) and looks out over the horizon.
Sounds of distress grab his attention though and he glances over fully expecting some poor newbie to come stumbling out of Mom's house. And sure enough, he sees a woman acting like she's never seen a three foot tall butterfly before. Well, he's not going to get in the way of this magical moment. Henry turns back around to face the sea when something from his hindbrain bites down hard.
WAIT WAS THAT WOMAN HORRIBLY MAIMED WITH A BROKEN ARM?
He almost sucks his cigarette down his throat as he whips around and stares, owl-eyed, at Eileen. Eileen! This exact (well maybe not exact) scenario has played out in his mind for nearly ten years and now that it's actually happening in front of him, he finds himself rooted to the spot.
"Seel?" His Seel tugs at the cuff of his jeans. He wants Henry to throw the shell he's found out into the surf. "Seel?"
"Nn--" Henry stammers. He forces his legs into action and takes one stiff step after another toward the scene.
Henry does not look like he did back in 2004. He's let his scruff grow out into what is trying very hard to be an actual beard. His messy hair drapes over his shoulders and his clothing is entirely different--jeans, sure, but he's wearing a baggy Litwick hoodie to combat April's chill. He's got a backpack slung over his shoulders and a beanie depicting the Orange Islands logo threatening to blow away in the coastal wind. And there's the (frustrated) baby sealicorn at his heels.
His tongue feels like a styrofoam packing peanut as he calls to her in a hoarse voice. "Eileen?" He instantly throws himself into a coughing fit.

Suzi Q Joestar | JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (teeeeechnically Battle Tendency) | lol I return
Ooooookay, well this wins the award for the weirdest thing that has ever happened to her thus far.
Because it will get weirder and dumber later for her. She's already doing a great job of entirely ignoring that "mom" character because she's:A. A grown adult.
B. She's not yelling at her in Italian so what do you mean that's her mom???? Nah.
It hadn't taken her very long to figure out that how pokeball thing just because she's disgustingly curious on the worst of days which is precisely how she's kneeling down to get a good look at the chikorita that's absolutely pretending to preen while being examined.
"Hmmm. Has the properties of a plant but is also an animal...?" Unfortunately she doesn't get too long to keep studying the little creature as it's very good at deciding that's enough and tackles into her, managing to knock the poor woman on her ass and casually plop into her lap. "You could've just asked!"
Network
This technology is weird but is absolutely useful once someone showed her how to use it but she's taken to it oddly quickly given she's figured out how the video feature works. Anyone that knows anything about her wouldn't be surprised by the smile that's on her face, even with her hair being a bit of a messy bun at this point.
By the way the camera moves, she's on some route or another but she decides to finally stop to put the camera somewhere easier for her to use freehanded. Meaning she found a tree, it's just a tree.
But it makes the scene clearer with her holding the wiggly chikorita in her arms that doesn't seem like it's wiggling to escape but is just sort of like this if the happy noises coming from it are any indication what-so-ever.
"Soooo could someone please do me a favor and explain why someone said that wild creatures were going to attack me while traveling? Because I don't think Fiore is the fighting type...?" The chikorita is literally in her arms and seems to have no intentions on leaving her grasp any time soon considering the little creature is burying her face into Suzi's chest of all things. "See?
New Bark Town
Wherever he was going, though, completely leaves his brain when he hears that adorable Italian accent. There's only a passing moment of confusion - no, his grandparents have been here, his grandson and great-granddaughter (and other person) are here, that has to be-
"SUZI!!"
He would be scooping her up, but she seems busy with her own weird new pet, and he's slowly learning to take his time approaching new Pokemon. His Skitty, though, has no such issues and climbs down his clothing (ow) to hop over and join the Chikorita on her lap.

Catrina Calavera | OC | A Gremlin has Landed!
Catrina woke up not in her room surrounded by her horrendous familiars, but to some bedroom she had never seen before, a weirdo human claiming to be her mother (Mom had to step up her game after a certain neon plague doctor gave her the escape :x), and the worst thing ever, SHE BECAME WARM BLOODED! Looking into the conveniently placed mirror, Catrina would come to have a bigger shock..SHE WAS A HUMAN! Sure her hair stayed the same midnight blue color it had been before along with her ocean blue eyes, but she was no longer blue, she was in fact a human with a relatively good beach tan. Downside, she didn't get the height boost from becoming human, still being under five feet in height and no more hand tail! Oh Catrina was feeling irritated and mad as a wasp at this one. What felt like an eternity later, Catrina was finally tossed into the big wide world of Pokemon after getting her starter, the rundown, and then learning she cannot in fact make Mom sound like a trombone in this world. Geeze guys, check out the weird lady in a black and orange dress straight from Halloween Express chewing on the PokeGear..I don’t think she knows it's not a chew…never mind I think its just her way of dealing with stress...
2. Off to Violet City with This Pumpkin Spiced Weirdo!
Catrina had heard about Violet City and decided it’d be a wise decision to set sail for there! Violet City, I am so sorry you’re about to be a lot more chaotic than normal as Catrina smooshes her face up against the tea shop windows checking out the Sinistea hanging around.
“These are ghosts!? I NEED THEM IN THE POKEBALL NOW!!”
3. WILDCARD :D (Feel free to hit Catrina with something else or PM me on her Character Account :’) I'm just tossing Cat here to see how well she does first before letting her loose on VR )

Odile | In Stars and Time
[Odile looks up at the tower. In theory, this is the ideal spot for her: A place full of those who know the ways of this place, and will answer any questions about it happily. But as she stands in its shadow, looking up as it sways, she looks pale - sickly, even.
And making things more difficult, is her traveling companion - a Hisuian Sneasel who is looking up at the building very differently: An expression of determined awe that says, quite plainly, "Challenge accepted." Odile notices this and sighs.]
You're certainly not climbing up the side. I'm not even sure about going inside - [The Sneasel makes a loudly displeased sound at this information.] - but scaling a building that sways like that would be beyond foolish. Its's clearly unstable.
B: Network
[It's early morning, and Odile does not look well. Not that her appearance in the video she posts is dire, but she clearly has not slept much, if at all, despite being at a room in an inn. She's holding a book about Pokemon types tightly, and when she speaks, her tone matches that grip.]
I am tired of not understanding how combat works here. Back home, the ways all make sense. Here? It's often arbitrary. Why is it that a creature with Fairy or Flying attributes is strong against a Pokemon that's Fighting type?
For that matter, what even determines a type? There are clear throughlines in some, but others aren't nearly as consistent. It seems that all Pokemon fight, just as they're all the typical creatures of this world... Yet they're not all Fighting or Normal as a type.
[She sighs, exasperated.
Odile is so. damned. tired. of children who look like they shouldn't even be out unsupervised understanding this system better than she does.]
C: Goldenrod City
[There's been a lot to adjust to as she makes her way through this new place. The absence of those she'd been traveling with is the biggest, with the Pokemon that populate the land coming in second place... Although all this color might actually take that spot.
One thing that hasn't been at all new, however, is the lay of the land. Not literally; she's laying eyes on each route and town for the first time as she sees them. But everywhere has been overall familiar, in that this place is not all that unlike her homeland of Ka Bue.
Or, rather, that was the case until she arrived in Goldenrod City. Even the most advanced areas she's seen back home are nothing like this place. This feels like learning to use the Pokegear on a much larger scale. It's overwhelming to feel so out of her depths, she needs to gain practical knowledge immediately, and so turns to the nearest person with a simple but crucial question]
Where is the city's library? [And then, with a rueful smile:] Hopefully not too far.
[This place is sprawling, and simply getting here has already been too much walking for someone her age!]
D: Wildcard
[Whatever's clever!]
Sprout Tower! :D
Eh? Seriously? Let 'em climb the tower, you only live once. [Catrina eyes the tower a bit as she grins] Plus, this place is loaded with ghosts, who doesn't love that?

C, waves hello furiously!!
[It's the person behind her, in the same sightline, that's frozen like a rabbit in headlights. You know, the one with the big ol' wizard hat? And the eyepatch? The one staring at Odile like they've seen a ghost?]
[Loop rapidly glances behind themself for an escape route. Odile is probably the absolute worst possible person they could have run into!! How is she here??]
[Unfortunately for them, they're also surrounded by a full squadron of Pokemon - two of which, a Metang and Type: Null, are on the larger side. It, uh. Cuts down on their options.]
[Loop shuffles sideways, not-very-hopefully banking on being able to hide behind their Type: Null. It's probably already too late, though.]

Christine "Chris" Morgan | OC
[A new world was interesting! And one with so much travel??? Count them in! They are so ready for this!
Or well...Until they wound up in the forest after dark with no idea how to camp.]
Do ya think if we wander for long enough, we can find a good place to rest?
[The Shroodle on their shoulder just blinks.]
II. Concern
[It's still night time, and camp or no camp, Chris has to rest. They are about to doze off when they hear something in the dark. They jump up and reach for a wand they don't have.]
Who's there? I'm warning ya, we're dangerous!
[Their Shroodle looks so confused, having been fast asleep.]
III. Causing Problems
[There's a few things they were able to grab in town. Unfortunately, a spray paint can wasn't one of them. They'll have to make do with acrylic paints and brushes. That won't stop them from painting on the side of a building though, just to see if their magic is completely gone here.]
((Feel free to hmu if you have an idea for a different prompt or if you want to discuss if the TDM thread should be canon for us (since there isn't a "TDM is canon" in VR, I always would prefer to check 1st) ))

Siffrin | In Stars and Time - possible spoilers!
[Siffrin yelps in surprise when the Pokegear turns on, and starts to record. He didn't meant to do that! How did he do that? It's something he might have tried to figure out, but not right now. Siffrin is, instead, panicking. No time to investigate this thing, he just sets it down in his lap, unaware that he's even filming, at all.]
I'm not... This wasn't supposed to...
[His breathing starts to grow ragged with stress, until he closes his eye for a moment and takes a deep breath.]
Everything is so... bright?
[He frowns. That word isn't quite right for what he means, is it?
His pokemon, a yamask, floats in and out of view. Siffrin's eye follows it with a look of dread.]
Am I supposed to take care of you? [He doesn't even know how to take care of himself!] I can't, I need to get back... to my family.
(ooc: Siffrin is a canon non-binary character and uses he/they pronouns, either is okay! Also I'm still pretty fresh to rp, sorry if I do anything wrong!)
well hello there 👀 (almost definitely spoilers)
[...they're not sure how they feel about seeing that face now! They're also absolutely not thinking about it!!]
[But it takes them approximately two seconds from hearing Siffrin's voice to drop right back into their Loop speech patterns.]
Hey, stardust! [
How can I help you on this wonderful new loop? No.] If you don't want to broadcast your awkwardness to everyone, you should probably press that switch to the top right!Just some helpful advice~

Clover | Undertale Yellow (potential miiild spoiler warning?? idk)
I: New Bark Town (or: well this feels a tad familiar)
[Seriously. A strange new place, monster-like beings...and, well, one of the first encounters being with a motherly figure and a yellow flower (...flower-carrying being. semantics.).
Clover supposes the biggest difference is that this one wasn't an intentional trip.
They're not panicking (
anymore), at least. They're just perched beneath a tree, taking stock of what they have, while their new companion floats around them. Admittedly, this is a better start than the Underground was; all they had when they dropped down was the clothes on their back (and head) and their old toy gun....come to think about it, their revolver is gone now. Well...at least it seems like they won't need it? At least they still have their hat...somehow.
...which their new friend has apparently decided is a perfect perch for her.]
...guess it'd be a bit weird to call ya after him, huh? [hmm.] Actually, do you already have a name?
[Clover's attention now fully turns to the Flabébé, who chirps & tilts her head at them curiously.
...no actual words. Hmm.]
You...really can't talk, huh?
II: Network (or: how does this newfangled tech work)
[Clover's seen things like cellphones before. A lot of different kinds, actually. But they've never actually had one, whether on the surface or in the Underground. And all the ones they've seen have been in movies or stores or being used by passerby, not by anyone they really knew, so they've never gotten a good look at them, or learned how they work.
All that is to say...something like the PokéGear is very new to them. Soooo anyone checking the network is gonna find the close-up face of a very confused child staring at them.]
Is it workin'?
[They have zero idea that this is public. Also now the Flabébé's poking her head in front of theirs, so now viewers have an even closer-up face of a fairy. A very curious one, this girl!]
Ack- Goldie, hey, I can't see it!

Jack Skellington | The Nightmare Before Christmas (Film + Tokyopop)
[ A man appears on the PokeConnect feed, his expression a mixture of fondness and frustration. He holds his Poke'Gear at arm's length to better film himself and on one shoulder a Murkrow with a scarred beak perches and preens. ]
Well hello again, Johto. It's been a while, hasn't it?
[ He lifts a spidery hand to stroke Edgar under her chin. The Murkrow croaks happily and squeezes her eyes shut.]
When I was home, this place was hardly even a dream of a memory. Both times I've been here before. Now that I'm here again, I remember it all on top of time passing in Halloween Town. It's strange...but wonderful too. And I have to wonder, is there anyone out there who remembers my name?
[ He's been reading the paper. It's been a long, long time. He's sure many of his old friends are gone, but there's a chance...]
ACTION FOR CHERRYGROVE
[ Jack nearly has to duck as he passes through the Pokemon Center doors. It's been three days of rough travel. He's tired but still in good spirits. He doesn't approach the front desk just yet. Instead, he rests his weary bones on one of the plush benches in the lobby and groans as he's able to stretch his legs all the way out. Woof. He forgot how tough it was in the beginning. ]
[ He longs for his soft bed in Goldenrod, if it's still there, but he's thankful he didn't wake up in that abysmal base this time. He'd walk Route 29 ten times over to avoid that.]
[Someone passes him by and he straightens up a little and waves a long arm.]
Oh, excuse me. Can you tell me when the spa is open?
