Christine "Chris" Morgan | OC
[A new world was interesting! And one with so much travel??? Count them in! They are so ready for this!
Or well...Until they wound up in the forest after dark with no idea how to camp.]
Do ya think if we wander for long enough, we can find a good place to rest?
[The Shroodle on their shoulder just blinks.]
II. Concern
[It's still night time, and camp or no camp, Chris has to rest. They are about to doze off when they hear something in the dark. They jump up and reach for a wand they don't have.]
Who's there? I'm warning ya, we're dangerous!
[Their Shroodle looks so confused, having been fast asleep.]
III. Causing Problems
[There's a few things they were able to grab in town. Unfortunately, a spray paint can wasn't one of them. They'll have to make do with acrylic paints and brushes. That won't stop them from painting on the side of a building though, just to see if their magic is completely gone here.]
((Feel free to hmu if you have an idea for a different prompt or if you want to discuss if the TDM thread should be canon for us (since there isn't a "TDM is canon" in VR, I always would prefer to check 1st) ))
II!
Can I crash here for the night?!
[Catrina no, you need to apologize for scaring innocent people like that!]
no subject
[This wasn't meant to be rude greeting, but they realize almost immediately that that was pretty rude.]
Sorry, I wasn't expectin' ya. I had figured you'd already moved on. Sure, make yourself comfy. I haaaave...nothing. But you're welcome to it!
no subject
Yes! Tis I, Catrina again! Also I'm taking you up on that offer, I ended up having one hell of a ride with the route here.
[Goes to get Gytrash out of that mess called her hair with a bit of a fight before that garbage gremlin is free.]
I found a bag of marshmallows out here if you want any?
no subject
They end up staring at the bag of marshmallows opening and closing their mouth a couple of times.]
Where...did you find that bag exactly? Was it just on the ground?
no subject
It's the weirdest thing, I found them in a tree of all places! That's how I got my tree hag look going to begin with.
no subject
[They shake their head and look up to the night sky. The tree branches are obscuring part of the view, but they can still see plenty of stars.]
It's kind of amazin' out here, isn't it?
no subject
[Catrina proceeds to enjoy them herself...she is definitely going to be sick to her stomach in the morning.]
It is, though, the sky is weird for not having two moons.
no subject
[Chris finds themself more and more interested in her world.]
no subject
[For once, Catrina is being open about where she came from as she watches the night's sky.]
I
They do seem like they could use a hand, but he's fully aware of how scary a man his size can be, wandering out of the underbrush at night. So he is careful to move several feet away, before he calls out to make his presence known. Which... depending on how observant Chris is, they might see or hear his movements.]
I'm sure you are - but I don't have a Revive for either of us, so I'd rather keep both of our Pokemon up.
no subject
Yeah, I'd like that too. I'd also like to be able to see who I'm talking to. I'll keep my Pokemon from attacking if you come out and be nice.
[Quieter, though Joseph could still probably hear them:] Quick Doodle, look alive. Look dangerous.
[It's an impossible ask on a good day, but now, while the Shroodle is sleepy, all he does is tilt his head cutely.]
no subject
I'm always nice. [Actually, his sing-songy tone makes that sound like a threat, and his expression turns a bit sheepish.] Seriously, though, I don't have to come closer if you're that worried. I understand it can be frightening, being a young lady lost on her own.
[Just... ignore that his wife is also alone in the woods while he's here.]
no subject
[And Chris is very short. They were getting ready to bolt when he changed his tone.]
I'm not worried! [They adjust their hat, and avoid eye contact for a second.] I was just a bit...surprised is all. Really.
And I'm not a lady.
[They are lost though.]
no subject
[His expression turns to confusion, and he looks them up and down carefully, slowly lowering his hands. There's no judgement, he's just caught off-guard.]
Sorry. Although I suppose it can be just as dangerous for a man out here.
no subject
Nah, I'm not a man either. I cancelled my subscription to gender weekly awhile back.
[They figure this probably won't be enough information, so they start mentally figuring out the less meme-y explanation to tell him.]
no subject
Alright... in that case, I'm not sure how to refer to you. I don't think I've heard of anyone not subscribing to gender.
[He does really appreciate that they're being patient with him.]
no subject
[Ok serious explanation time.]
I'm what people call nonbinary, or enby, which means I'm neither a man or a woman. As far as referring to me, I prefer nongendered language like they/them instead of she or he and person instead of man or woman. I can go more in depth about it if you'd like, but that's the gist of it.
The name's Chris, by the way.
no subject
Alright... it's good to meet you, Chris. I'm Joseph - although most people call me Jojo. And this is Prince.
[He gestures at his Pidgey, who has unruffled his feathers and now looks even smaller. Prince seems excited to hear his own name, and spreads his wings out to pose proudly.]
I'm not sure I can spare the time to walk you back to town, but I can at least help you get a fire started. Doesn't always keep the wild Pokemon away, but the cold is the real killer.
no subject
[The Shroodle squeaked happily.]
A fire would be nice, thank you. I've never been camping before, I kinda came out unprepared...
[And they're a bit out of their depth without any of their magic.]
How do we get it started, Jojo?

II
no subject
[Except they are clearly scared, and just trying to cover it up with anger. They scoop up their Shroodle, and their bag, ready to run at the first or second sign of danger.
Maybe the third sign, as they are kind of stupid.]
no subject
[ Meanwhile, Beetlejuice lets out a blood-curdling scream. It's a Thursday, he's got nothing else going on.]
I actually get to use this icon for them thank you lol
Or they were fast until they tripped over a tree root anyway.]
my pleasure :3
Aaaaahahahaha! Nice work, pal!
[They high-five.]
