If that's what you'd prefer, then.

[ It feels less formal this way. Miss reminded her too much of her still fresh wounds when it came to being an instructor. She'd failed spectacularly with that in many ways, but it had been a learning experience. She might have beaten herself up more on it in the past, but she's changed in the same way that her friends have. Maybe not in obvious ways, but more than she could have imagined.

She vaguely glances over at their pokemon, content that at least they seem to be comfortable. Some seem hostile, even if they have trainers. Emolga might be a handful, but it could always be much worse.
]

I can only hope so. [ But she doesn't linger on that line of conversation, if only because there's no use worrying about something that may not factor in to the situation. It's better to address what's at hand. ] I'm relieved you asked; I'm used to doing the fighting, not relying on others -- at least not without magic or weapons. I've studied the maps, but that's different than firsthand experience.

[ But she probably didn't have to tell him about that. She had heard a bit about wild pokemon and had a few encounters of her own thus far, but none so extreme that she would think that it was as frequent as it could be. ]

Pokemon seem to differ greatly, even within the same kind. I wouldn't doubt there's exceptions to that, even if they only attack out of being startled or scared. To my knowledge there's only one route and no split paths, so I can't see why we shouldn't work together for now. [ Quistis would occasionally talk out of nervousness, not necessarily anxiety or even wanting to please others. Sometimes it pushed a little too far into teasing or flirting or just being too personal, but she'd like to think she's learned to be more appropriate. ] Emolga is an electric type, by the way. Despite her stature, she's good at scouting ahead. I'd like to think she's more an invaluable asset on a journey than I might be. I don't know much about yours, but from what I gather there's several hundred different pokemon. It's going to be quite the learning experience.

[A small smile quirks his lips at her admission of not relying on others and he tilts his head in acknowledgement.]

Relying on companions is quite the valuable asset, you may come to find. I may be the Advisor to the prince, and Gladiolus his Shield, but I've come to rely on everyone in our party just as they had to me.

[Although these days, he knows he's quite the burden. But he would see their journey to the end, this... detour aside, that is.]

Yes, I do believe Prompto mentioned something similar when I had asked about the route to Cherrygrove. Even so, having another to help keep me from straying off the path would ease my worry greatly. Audino is of the "normal type", not quite sure what that entails, but she seems to want to stay as close as possible to me. [So, someone scouting ahead and making sure he's not going to run into anything, even with his cane, would be best. He intends to become proficient despite his disability, but he knows it's not something he will learn in a day. It will take time and Ignis' pride would need to allow for that time.] No better time to start learning than the present, shall we?

[Audino, being the "hearing pokemon" was listening to their conversation even as she conversed with Emolga and thus, gave the electric type a wave and made her way back to Ignis' side.]

[ She cants her head, nearly touching her chin to neck. It's something she has difficulty with, both dealing with in time and discussing. In reality, she wants to rely on others. It's just making the connection to get to that point. ]

I don't disagree. As a former instructor and current S-Rank Mercenary with Garden, it's crucial to create and maintain trustworthy relationships. Of course, I cannot say what your work may entail, but I suspect we may have some things in common.

[ She thought of herself as something of an advisor to Squall. Not that he didn't know the correct path to take or that she would know better than he did, but it felt like that's what she's become as she would stand and discuss things with the Headmaster. It was nice to feel like you had a purpose. ]

Ah... I, I see. My apologies. I hadn't quite picked up on your situation. [ She tries to be sensitive but there's no mincing the reality of it all. Her tone is apologetic as her lopsided smile; it can be heard in her voice. ] From what I've gathered, normal types are quite versatile and can learn abilities via something referred to as a "TM," but I haven't had much time since arrival to really delve into it.

[ She's occasional awkward if not forceful, but she takes care when she approaches further, a gloved hand brushing against his elbow because all she can really think of is gesture is better than expression. Especially when her words often fall short or stumble. From the way she does it, it's pretty clear that she's on the taller side, at least. ]

Please feel free to count on me, in that case. You seem to know a bit more than I do, so I'm glad to hear any information you may have about what's ahead. [ Her Emolga swirls mostly around the Audino, glad for the company, but somehow it doesn't take eyes to know that it's showing off with a little acrobatic prowess with non-stop chittering accompanying each move. ] She seems to be keen on praise, so you'll likely hear her floating around. If it feels disorienting, I'll try to reel her in.
