Why the fuck would I know? I'm not their keeper. [Which translates to "I haven't looked." Why would he, anyways? The rest of their classmates would be an unwelcome nightmare.
For the most part, anyways.]
You're going to battle me.
no subject
... But wait, what? Kacchan no! No battle!!]
I JUST GOT HERE!
no subject
And, okay, posing a question on the network isn't really "everywhere", but details, shmetails.]
So? You got a pokemon, don't you? Means you can battle!
no subject
But he does know that Bakugou won't stop until he has his battle, so he figures they might as well get it over with. Even if he has a feeling Togepi won't be quite up to the task just yet. Guess he'll just have to do justice to both his hero name and Togepi's nickname and do his best]
Ugh... Alright, alright, I'm near the lab.
no subject
He shuts off the feed as it stomps his way over, but it doesn't take him long until he turns up to the lab. His Cyndaquil is nestled in his arms - because it's so small and slow and he's not about to leave it in some stupid ball. That's all.]
There you are!
[Yes, Deku told him where he would be. But he's still going to act like it was some massive hunt, why do you ask?]
no subject
When Bakugou shuts off the feed, Deku just sighs. Of course Bakugou would jump to the chance of a battle, why wouldn't he? Bakugou was Bakugou even in a whole new dimension, or whatever this place was. He just hoped Togepi could handle it. From what he knew and had briefly studied of its skill's, it would a battle based on luck on his side. But maybe that would be fine, if Togepi manage to lower Bakugou's Pokemon's attack it would certainly buy time to see if luck of the draw would allow him to get a good hit with metronome, but even so it could go south in so many wa-
His thoughts were interrupted by Bakugou announcing his arrival, for better or worse.]
I did tell you were I was...
[Seriously dude... But Izuku notices the Cyndaquil om Bakugou's arms and looks at the little thing curiously.] That's your Pokemon?
no subject
Because, you know, why try to move on to things when you could just hold onto it forever. It didn't help that it kept happening; at every opportunity, there was Deku, using someone else's fucking moves to put himself ahead. Thinking about it just makes Bakugou angry.
Or, well. Angrier. It'll be a cold day in hell when he finally calms his tits for a solid minute.]
This is Grenade.
[What's smaller than a bomb? A grenade. It's very clever, he knows. He stoops down to place the Cyndaquil on the ground, though it doesn't seem very keen on being let go.
The thing is awesome, though more impressive when actually on fire, but so far doesn't seem to have the same passion for fighting that Bakugou does. Which is disappointing, but it's basically a baby so he won't hold that against it.
For now.]
You're not going to win this time, Deku.
no subject
Izuku's first instinct is to walk over to Grenade and crouch next to it to take a closer look, but he knows for a fact that Bakugou wouldn't let him, not before battling. So he just crouches and looks at the Pokemon.
He has to admit...] It's kind of cute, isn't it?
[Izuku's Togepi also took an interest in the other Pokemon, walking to approach it until Bakugou says his name. This makes the little egg pause and look up at Bakugou in confusion. He doesn't know you, bruh.]
no subject
And he learns stuff!! He has better grades, at the very least.]
Cute?! Grenade's not cute!
[It's vicious! Totally vicious and yes okay maybe a little bit cute, with how round it is and its pudgy little snoot.
Also yes he doesn't know if his Cyndaquil is male or female. Sure, the information is available to him, but Bakugou works off of instinct. That hasn't let him down yet.
Okay his instincts have let him down multiple times. But still! He doesn't need to rely on some stupid bullshit to be the best in this place.]
Did you really call that thing Deku? That stupid egg?
[Don't give him that look, more-useless-Deku. He's not the one who can't name things, here.]
no subject
And Grenade is totally cute, but he's not pushing that point because Bakugou asked a legitimate question.] I did. I noticed my quirk no longer worked, so... I figured I didn't have to hold on to it until that's fixed. So I named him Deku. Not Deku for useless, but Deku for working hard.
[And Deku the Togepi lets out an angry noise of approval while he points at Bakugou. Don't call him stupid, he will fuck you up!]
Ah... And I guess he's ready, then?
no subject
[The words are out before Bakugou even realizes he's spoken, and once he's realized what he says his face goes blank. It's not quite panic, no, but it's close. He doesn't even want to admit to himself that his quirk is just...Gone. Having anyone else would have been awful, but someone who was quirkless? Who was gifted his quirk?
It stings, and he really just wants to punch himself in the face.]
You can keep saying Deku isn't for being useless, but you haven't proved otherwise! You're always going to be the same.
[Grenade doesn't seem very pleased with everything that's going on, tensing as Togepi points before letting out a growl. He's as ready as he's going to be for this fight.]
no subject
[Thankfully for the two of them, though Izuku's eyes are never anything but surprised, and it doesn't take more of a second before they're steeled with a familiar determination. He knows Bakugou well enough to know that talking about it now won't work, and any chance of it happening will come after the battle. So he stands up, feet apart as if he's going to join the fray.]
So... Let's start the battle.
no subject
He's just going to play by their rules, and then take it back. Simple as that.]
Don't Kacchan me! Fuck! How many times do we have to go through this?! Especially when you've got that pathetic look on your face....
[He bares his teeth as Grenade ignites, smile going just as manic as it always does. He's been looking forward to his, and he has no doubt that he's going to win.]
Give it everything you've got, Grenade.
[And with that, the Cyndaquil is off, dashing straight towards the Togepi.]
no subject
Deku, let's do this! [Deku the Togepi does its best fighting stance as Grenade continues its dash. Once it's close enough, Izuku gives the first command.] Deku, use Charm!
[And Togepi's expression change immediately as it burst into a radiant smile as it sends a torrent of hearts at Grenade.]
no subject
Charm? What kind of pissweak move is that?
[It doesn't take very long to get the answer. In some ways, he wished he never figured out what Charm did.
What the hell.
Grenade seems as baffled as Bakugou is, rearing back before his tackle can connect. It ends up being more of a gentle bump, instead, with Grenade seeming to shyly tap his head against the other Pokemon.]
What are you playing at, Deku?
no subject
Charm actually works better than he expected, too. Maybe now they can win this.]
I'm playing at winning this battle, anyway we can. Deku, Metronome!
[And Togepi doesn't waste any time wagging its little fingers, who begin powering up soon. Once the move's complete, he uses Swift, letting out a series of small stars heading straight at Grenade.]
no subject
He can't let that happen.]
Grenade, leer!
[Charm seems to have taken the edge of tackle, but if he can get the stupid egg to let up...
Maybe it'll work. His eyes narrow at the use of Metronome, and sadly Grenade can't dodge it all.]
Metronome, huh? Can't you do anything without copying off someone better than you?
no subject
He wants to beat you, and that doesn't change in a new world.
Leer seems to work; Deku the Togepi is visibly shaken, and looks like its defences aren't as strong. Izuku notices, but going for another charm might backfire, especially if Cyndaquil has another move up its sleeve that's not affected by it.
For now, he'll just grind his teeth and ignore Bakugou's insult. One more time...]
Deku, again, use Metronome! [And he does... Only to come up with Mud Sport. Izuku isn't sure where the mud came from, or what its purpose might be, but Togepi is surely throwing it in the air and around himself.] ... Eh?
