[Action]

[It's night in the Viridian Forest. Early enough that you might be still walking around, looking for a place to spend the night, but late enough that it's dark out. All's tranquil and quiet, save for the shuffling and cries of surrounding pokemon.

Unless, of course, you find yourself nearing a certain clearing. In which case, you will the muffled sound of frantic muttering, as if someone were reciting a mantra to themselves. It's frankly a little unnerving. If you were to investigate, though, you'd find a teenage boy sitting with his legs crossed, balancing spiral notebook on his thigh as he writes. There's a sleeping Togepi leaning against him and Skitty watching the notebook curiously.

His muttering becomes much clearer too.]
... can be used to counter the lack of offensive moves, but there's still the problem of defense, ah I could use a TM with protect to hold on until it evolves but I'm already buying one and I can't use that much money and Togepi can't overwhelm enemies with brute force yet...

[He's getting his light from a small fire and a lantern, the latter of which is now tipped over due to Skitty swinging its tail and is sitting dangerous to the fire.]

[Network]

[There's a curly haired teenage boy on the camera.] Ah, it's working! [Cough cough.] Uhm, hello. I'm Midoriya Izuku. I just arrived. This... [He pulls up a Togepi, who cries in delight and waves at the camera.] Is my partner Togepi, Deku. I... I think I understand some of what's going on, but I do have questions, so I was wondering if anyone would like to help me for a bit. I'm in... Pallet Town if you want to meet face to face. Uh... I think that's it. [A beat before he speaks again!] Ah wait, that's right! How do you turn off the radio of this thing? [He gives his Pokegear a slight shake for emphasis.] It keeps playing music.

[It is... not remotely close to Halloween yet. But it's fall, which is close enough for the seasonal displays in the marts and department stores, which is apparently enough for the local ghost types, in the places that have them. As far as they care, it's time to kick up the pranks and hauntings, and get into the spirit of the holidays.]

[Or, as many of them seem to be doing, just time to swarm and terrorize any wandering trainer that will take it.]

Stop that nonsense this instant.

[And a few that won't.]

[If you've ever wanted to see a Scottish woman dressed vaguely like a gothic Mary Poppins and staring down a confused Gastly at umbrella-point, now's your chance.]

Hush now, and enough of the penny-show dramaturgy. I'm a busy woman, and I've seen and done worse long before you were a wisp of ectoplasm percolating in one of those ridiculous eggs. You can float along and pester someone who can actually be intimidated, or you can find out what happens when I need to deal with a roadblock.

[The umbrella point drops to the ground with a deliberate click, and Missy smiles brightly at the Gastly.]

Do we understand each other then, dearie?

I'm curious.

The Pokémon Eevee has a rather astonishing number of possible evolutions.

How many of those different types of techniques would you say the base form is capable of learning, with careful breeding and tutoring?

Call it the start of a scientific inquiry.

In Which Christopher Arrvies - New Bark Town

Christopher stood at the center of the town, feeling hopeless. This place was very loud, filled with many people, a lot of whom looked foreign and a little frightening.

He found comfort in the small, sticky, honey covered paw that rested in his hand. Christopher looked down at the little bear and smiled softly. “Now don’t let go of my hand, Pooh.” Shaking his companions hand to emphasize the point.

The Pokemon looked up at him with big curious eyes, its other paw adorably placed in its mouth. For the longest time it gazed up at him, before nodding slowly.

Satisfied Christopher looked about himself in hopes of finding someone to speak to, preferably less threatening than most of the others he’d seen so far.

In Which Christopher Gets His First Capture - Any Pokemon Center

"Um... Excuse me?" Christopher cautiously approaches you at the Center, a Teddiursa at his side, a Hoothoot on shoulder. "This animal won't go home." He points at the Hoothoot.

"He flew into a tree last night and after I helped him he followed us here. I spoke to the lady at the desk and she said he's fine."

Hoothoot!

"I mean, he is ever so friendly but I just don't know what to do."

In Which Christopher Has Fun By The Waters Edge - Any Location

Christopher Robin can be found playing by the water. He's attempting to show Pooh Bear, his Teddiursa, how to skip stones.

A Buizel occasionally pops its head up out of the water and swims to the shore to deposit more stones before returning to swim, while a Hoothoot dozes in a nearby tree.

[Action] [ Snowstorm in a cave. ]

All things considered? Mei had been in worse situations.

As the blizzard came down outside and the wind howled along the craggy rocks of the mountain, Mei had found a decent sized cave to wait out the storm. Kneeling on the ground she was attempting to start a fire with the supplies from her bag. Sparks sputtered from the lighter in her hand as she tried to coax a small flame to feed on the twigs and leaves she had gathered into a pile.

"I don't suppose you have a fire pokemon handy do you?" She asks looking hopeful as a blast of air from outside snuffs out her most recent attempt at a fire. Thankfully she's wearing a thick coat but you might not be so well adjusted to the cold as she is.

[Action] [Frosty just-ice]

"Alright everyone, don't move!"

Nothing ruins a perfectly nice town festival like Team Rocket. A bunch of goons in matching black uniforms arrived right in the middle of the ceremonial dance to commemorate the winter solstice.

Various dark type pokemon have appeared and are glowering at the townspeople and their own pokemon as the Team Rocket thugs scurry around snatching things off stands and stealing things right out of the hands of the citizens.

"Freeze! Don't Move!"

The people start to cheer thinking it's officer Jenny coming to save the day but...no! It's a short woman in a parka who is sternly glaring at the thugs as her Glaceon stands at her side, snowflakes falling from it's lips as a pair of Murkrow fall to the ground frozen solid.

"You bullies give back everything you've stolen and apologize this instant!"

The grunts look at each other, and then at the crowd. Deciding that they still out number the woman and that citizens don't seem ready to rally behind her, they order they're pokemon to attack! Maybe you should lend a hand?

Ni Hao!

[Oh look it's Mei! She's in the mountains somewhere from the looks of the jagged rocks behind her and her cheeks are rosy from the hike. The stars are much more clear above her then they are in the city.]

I know it's late but I just wanted to share this with you all.

[Turning the camera around Mei treats you to a beautiful panoramic image of a valley stretched out before her. The trees rustle peacefully and somewhere in the distance a canine pokemon howls, answered shortly after by several more howls. When Mei turns the camera back to herself she's beaming.]

This world is amazing isn't it? Somehow they have grown to co-exist with nature in such an effective way. I've been gathering data while I travel and the levels of pollution here seem only to spike in very specific areas. It's like it doesn't even touch the majority of the land mass.

None of us know how long we'll be allowed to stay here, but I want to gather as much data as I can so that maybe when I return home I can use it to help try and protect the environment.

If you could take home anything from this world with you, what would it be?

[She sounds thoughtful and sympathetic.]

I know some people i've met here don't wish to return home, and when I see places like this valley...it's hard to disagree.

Rocket variant/Muscle Form
[All Might was stealing clothing. Or rather borrowing them, from a clothing section meant for muscle pokemon fashion.

In truth, he would return to pay it later, but his little Togepi trilled chidingly at him, like she was a reflection of himself. He made a face, the giant man sighing.]

I would pay, but I need the money to distance myself from the Rocket Centers, Togepi. Maybe I will hide away, where no one will be able to see my shame.

[The large R emblem stared back at him, as he hid it into a pack.]

Come, we need to go.

[Some people were giving the scarecrow man some distance. However, he was minding his own business as he tossed a ball up and down to test his reflexes. His pain was gone, and he felt great. For the time being.

Action

[If he believed that normal cities actually existed, Goldenrod would maybe be one. Except for the music everywhere and the colorful wee beasties following around children. And adults. And really just a lot of people in hats.

Well, he figures, someone will tell him where he is eventually. That, or they'll try to kill him. So he keeps wandering, staying a safe distance from the beasties and their odd cries. He's never been on a planet with this many sorts of alien before. The ones that look like dogs are probably all right, but they're aliens. You never know with aliens.

Right. He's not lost. He can't be lost if he doesn't know where he was going in the first place, so he's very definitely not lost. And he very definitely turns into the alley on purpose. It's normal, as far as alleys go, and he's looking around as he goes -- but he's looking around at head-height, so he doesn't have any warning when something tiny and pink hits him in the knees and he goes over, hard.

Ow.

He rolls over and onto his feet and goes for his knife. Which is gone. He goes for the one in his sock. It's gone too. The beastie makes a noise like a cat's mew, and he stares at it. It's tiny, pink and brown with huge eyes, and it looks more like a toy than any alien he's seen. It's also definitely staring back. He takes a hesitant step toward it, hands out in front of him. It mews again, and then it jumps.

He takes a swing at it and misses, and it hits him in the stomach so hard that it knocks the breath out of him. He lands on his back and tries to grab it, but when he does it starts flailing out of control with strength it's too wee to fairly have.]

Get off, ya wee -- ow! You cannae just -- ow! Get off!

[Wilbur had been waiting his entire life to go on his very own childhood adventure. He knew the day would come when he'd set off on his own and go out into the great big world, either with a new power or some sort of rag tag team of companions. A fighting animal companion was just as good. It would be his very own. Something he could raise and train, and soon enough, he and his new friend would be considered the best. Yes, Wilbur could see it now.

But imagine his surprise when, after waiting impatiently to be given his own partner, he was handed a pigeon. Not something "wicked cool", but a pigeon. A Pidove, as he had been corrected, but if it looked like a pigeon and it sounded like a pigeon, it was a pigeon.

Now, Wilbur stood out in town, a small but ruffled Pidove tucked under his arm. He stared down at his PokeGear, contemplating his next move. Mostly, how he was going to get out of town without having to explain the pigeon.]

[i. Wandering.]
[There's a two week delay on wandering for Hans, for reasons he won't discuss. He's dressed as casually as he can stand and he's taking the time to gather his bearings and learn a little more about where he is. He has his Mudbray out of his ball, because he's trying to better acquaint himself with it as well.

It's not going great.

Hans and his Mudbray seem to have conflicting ideas about what direction to walk in, what to look at and whether to walk at all or just stand still and eat dirt. Hans doesn't always immediately notice that he's walking while his pokemon isn't, but when he eventually turns around he's obviously becoming exasperated.]

Æble! Surely that can't be good for you. [Who eats dirt? Why does he have a beast that eats dirt? Hans plods back toward him, beckoning for him to keep walking.

Æble responds by kicking his back foot and snorting, but he's not moving.]

Honestly, you can be such an.. [He pauses, then falters.] ..Ass. If you want to eat dirt, that's fine, but I'm going to keep walking.

[Hans turns, with a huff, and Æble charges behind him to headbutt the back of his legs. Hans stumbles and grunts, swiveling back around to put his hands on his hips so he can stare disapprovingly at his Mudbray.]

That was bad manners.

[ii. Wandering more.]
[Hans has begun to make moves to leave the city and start travelling. It's a nice day, it's a nice walk. His Mudbray is following him, more obliging and eager this time, and Hans is starting to enjoy the sense of freedom he's getting from being here.

On his travels, he might catch sight of a fellow traveler and their Pokemon. He might have the vague consideration about stealing it, but he doesn't feel quite ready to leap right into a life of crime. He knows his strength is in a slow play, anyway. Which is probably why he'll approach with a friendly smile.]

I know this is going to make it obvious that I'm new here, but.. do you mind if I ask what kind of Pokemon that is? [Even if he knows or has a way of finding out, he's interesting in making conversation.]

[It's another bright and cheerful day in Goldenrod City! The sun is shining, the Pidgey are singing, and most importantly, plenty of people are milling around the various tourist traps. Someone is currently taking advantage of the crowds gathered around the Goldenrod Radio Tower.]

[Over the gentle background music that constantly plays everywhere in this world, someone is playing their own tune. A hummable, familiar ditty floats through the air, mingling with lots of shiny bubbles. At the foot of the Radio Tower is a busker playing the trumpet. His Popplio is joining in on the act by using Bubble, and performing small acrobatic acts, such as flips, and handstands. Both performers are putting all their enthusiastic energy into their act.]

[Nearby, a Teddiursa is offering an upturned hat towards anyone who stops to look for more than a few seconds. How could anyone resist those cute, shiny eyes? It makes pleading cries to those who dig for the change in their pockets. Surely their moment of happiness was worth a 50 P coin or two! The trumpet-player nods in thanks to anyone who leaves a donation.]

[Hopefully this isn't illegal or anything... It's obvious he means well. And he really is good at his craft! It's not easy to play this song on a horn!]

On a road somewhere... anywhere... take your pick for a road.

There are rude songs, there are bar songs and then there are really rude bar songs. Ceilidh is singing the last in tune with the rather bizarre background music as she army marched down the road. Following the red haired teenager is a Murkrow that has a sparkly pink ribbon around her neck. Despite the loudness of the song, it's not poorly sung. Ceilidh has a very lovely voice - not as nice as her mother's but she did learn some things over the years.

Occasionally she'll twirl the walking stick she's using around in a rather fancy move and make a stabbing gesture and a "HAH" before falling back into a normal walking pace.

[Around the Pokemon Center in New Bark Town]

“No, I’m terribly sorry, but you don’t understand… this isn’t where I’m supposed to be.”

The nurses don’t seem to care. They’re relentless, as nurses tend to be, and Edward finds himself gently but firmly hustled out into the street. He cringes backwards against the door when he feels the sun on his face—not afraid of the sun and the light itself, but of the entire great world yawning open before him, unseen and unknown. The nurses could have positioned him in front of a gaping chasm, and he wouldn’t know any different.

Edward clings to the puppy the nurses insisted he take with him, despite his protests that he couldn’t possibly care for a puppy, he can barely care for himself, and it squirms in his arms, whining and lifting its head to swipe its warm tongue along his chin. What is he supposed to do now? He’s blind after over a lifetime of sight, lost and alone and completely out of his element, and now responsible for a puppy.

What if it runs away? Maybe it would be better if it ran away. It could find someone better able to care for it if it did.

[Wandering on the road somewhere]

The puppy did not run away. In fact, it’s kept very close to Edward, close enough that he can feel its warm, furry body pressed against his calf.

There was also no gaping chasm in front of him, just a simple street and a small village. Edward has asked to be taken back to the Abbey, but no one had known what that was. Instead, he’s been fed, given tea, and gently guided onto something called a Route. The friendly woman who brought him to the edge of the city even gave him a cane, and Edward is slowly and painfully picking his way along the road.

“Why won’t you go away?” The puppy is exhausting in its insistence on staying close to him. If it would just run away, if it would go find someone else to care for it, Edward would be able to sit down. He’d be able to find a place to be alone, and to finally silence the howling demons in his head.

[ ... isn't this a surprise. Akechi isn't necessarily complaining, but the overall experience of waking up here leaves a few things to be desired. Namely, the fact that it's kind of cold, and that--

... Nevermind. Ugh. Akechi'll just have to deal with that later. He has more things to worry about, anyway, including the fact that he has a companion. ]

Well, best to be on our way. Isn't that right?

[ He addresses the pokemon carefully, and he takes a good look around. There are quite a few people here... maybe it's you he addresses when he walks over. ]

Excuse me, could you answer a few questions?

network
[ So, Akechi's been here a good while, and he's gathered enough info to have several questions. It's fairly late at night, but he's sure that won't deter anyone from answering. ]

If you could change one thing about this place, what would it be? Personally, the music can be quite grating, especially when one is trying to think. Usually, I wouldn't complain, but I'm not one to appreciate my thoughts' being interrupted.

More than that, however, I've been--like most of you, I'm sure--inconvenienced by these Team Rocket members. Many of them are easy enough to defeat in battle, and yet they're particularly tenacious. It's annoying, isn't it? I imagine there's been action taken to hinder their activities, but they keep causing trouble for everyone here. But for every few weakling grunts,
there are several stronger ones. It's interesting, isn't it?

... Pardon me, I rambled a bit there. Impressive feat, considering this is only text. Essentially what I'm getting at is if one were to go about taking care of the issue, how would you suggest doing so?

I realize it's a risk openly defying such a group of people, and I'm effectively painting a target on my back. But the risk will be well worth the reward, don't you think?
