Come on, guard your chin! Er, whatever you have where a chin should be! [Have you ever seen an elderly man coaching a two-foot crab in the fine art of boxing? Well, you have now.
The crabrawler bubbles enthusiastically.]
Now give me a jab! [The pokemon gives a one-two punch. Stan laughs.]
Look at you, you're a natural! [Crabrawler bounces for joy.]
[Network]
So if you were gonna cut down some trees, uh, anybody got a quick and easy way to make sure that they're not. Alive?
[This shit is weird.]
i'm gonna pretend they already know about each other being there so we can save The Reunion

What are you, a teenager? You're sitting right next to me, you don't have to use this smart phone thingamajig.
no subject
This may be a question other people have. I felt it prudent to post the answer where they could also see it. The whole point of these 'smart phone thingamajigs' is for easy information gathering.
no subject
Complete with one doing a near-perfect impression of his older twin's voice.]
Welcome to Science Hour kids, make sure you give all the trees a good tickle before you go knocking them down for wood.
no subject
It's prudent! Do you want to be devoured or cursed? Because this is how you get devoured or cursed, Stanley.
no subject
Are you going to help me cut down the trees or not?
no subject
Fine.
[He reaches into his coat for a Pokéball. Claudia knows Air Cutter, which ought to work just fine on the trees. Halfway through pulling it out he pauses.]
Also if we do disturb a Trevenant and wind up having to fight the whole forest I am putting the blame squarely on you.
no subject
Sounds like a good time to me, Poindexter. What do you think, Lefty?
[Ford, but not anyone tuning in, will see Stan's Crabrawler knock its claws together and bounce back and forth with a pleased bubbling sound.]
no subject
Claudia, by contrast, is a horrible fanged purple sky orb. She bursts out of her ball with a screech, immediately does a flip, and baps Ford in the face with a wing hard enough to knock his glasses askew. He sets them back on his nose with a fond sigh.]
Alright, Claudia. Would you like to destroy something?
[This is Claudia's favorite thing to do, apparently, because she screels with all the enthusiasm a round purple bat can muster. Show her. Show her the thing to wreck.]
You may want to move back a little, Stanley. She's... enthusiastic.
stares....
Have you tried... asking if they're alive?
stares back...
'Course I tried asking. Ole Lefty got pretty tired of fighting all the rats that dropped out while we were "asking," though.
[Asking, here, meaning "punching"]
no subject
...You're punching trees to see if they're alive or not? Stan, isn't that a little... y'know, rude?
no subject
Crazy- stupid newfangled thing- kids these days with their skeeps and their face-time-
[Shakily, with inexperience, he turns the screen around to show off the purple crab with bright blue claws that were shaped like boxing mitts.] You see him? Say hi to Wendy, Lefty. [It grits out an excited noise and bounces from side to side, throwing a one-two jab. Stan laughs from behind the camera, and turns it back around to show his face again.]
no subject
Oh. Wow, that's... [She squints, peering at the pokemon.] Is that like, a crab with a punching glove fist? ...That's pretty cool.
[She approves.]
Action!
"Oh man, hey! Sorry to interrupt but I ain't seen one of those before. What kinda Pokemon are they?"
no subject
"Uh..." Stan rubs his shoulder thoughtfully. "I'unno, I just call him ole Lefty."
Crabrawler, "Ole Lefty" supplies helpfully, with its voice that's not quite as rough as its trainer's.
no subject
"...And she's a right show-off." Ash added, folding his arms and smiling at her. She didn't give a damn, flicking her tail at him with a whip-snap and clearly giving him a confident smirk. She knows he loves her.
"So Lefty's a boxing crab? Man, I've seen quite a few Pokemon but I ain't seen any boxers yet!"
