Namely: why his little Ralts either ran crying from the room when he entered, ran crying to his knees when he entered, or otherwise seemed terribly emotionally unstable. It was worrisome and he was actually concerned for the little thing's health, which of course was yet another issue to be addressed at some point but after he figures out what's wrong with Ib.
They're sitting in a quieter corner of the park, Ienzo on the grass more or less level with his Ralts who is oddly clingy today. Ib seems reluctant to let go of Ienzo's arm no matter how hard he tries to get him to let go]
Ib, please...
[Nope. The Ralts starts trying to climb up to his shoulder next. Ienzo sighs]
Hey frand
How was she a pain in the ass, you ask? Well, for one, she liked to wander around and try to steal from people.
Which is why Ienzo and Ib will find themselves suddenly confronted by a small meinfoo wearing a bandanna around it's head, poised to fight with it's paws up and eyes narrowed--]
Materia.
[Finally catching up, Cloud wastes no time in scooping the little thing up just as it goes to lunge at Ib, the blonde looking overly exasperated and apologetic all at once.]
Sorry.
omg did you really
What was she after? --Ib, calm down.
YEP BD
[He sounds extremely tired--or maybe it's just that he's that frustrated with having to deal with this struggling little mess of a fighter pokemon.]
It's been her goal as of late.
[Drifting up behind Cloud comes a rather annoyed look Honedge with a Hoppip, Eevee and Hoothoot in tow.]
She didn't hurt your pokemon did she?

I tried. She spilled free. And she can get out of her pokeball.

[As he says it he turns and kneels down to set Materia down, the Meinfoo immediately making to run but she's swiftly scooped up by Cloud's Honedge, the sword holding her in his ribbon hand for now.]

[He gestures to the sword. His Ralts cowers]

[Starting to straighten up again, Cloud pauses and makes a grab for his Eevee because he knows that look--]
Gongaga no!
[The sly little thing bounds right past his master and hops a circle around Ienzo, making a happy little chirp of a sound as he does.]
no subject
Is he supposed to do that?
no subject
[Well, technically he bought the egg but whatever.]
They all have different natures and characteristics.

It's surprising to see such a timid little Pokémon. Not that they don't exist; he's worked with a few himself, but most of the Pokémon Riku encounters in passing seem more cheerful, competitive, and outgoing.
Curious, he makes a steady approach, trailed by a Charizard who's at least wise enough to keep his distance. A seven foot reptile and a timid little psychic type? Probably not the best combo.]
They sure can be a handful, huh? Well, at least yours is still pretty small.
[He's acting a bit casual, but for someone behind on the times, it's to be expected, really.]
no subject
They are, yes. How did you find me?
[Thankful for his humanity or not, Ienzo does not like Riku. He killed Lexaeus and his replica killed him.]
no subject
Just passing through. You trying to hide or something?
[Either he's feigning cluelessness or he doesn't know who he's dealing with. Either way, it's still a bit awkward.]

[Hoo boy. He lets out a sigh, reaching for his forehead.]
It's more that I'm from the past, and I just haven't met you yet. Or visited any castles, for that matter.
no subject
You're telling the truth, but you look older.

[Which probably sounds absurd, so he's quick to add--]
Long as we're here, the passage of time doesn't matter back home. It's just kind of... stopped, I guess, and somehow people can drop in from all across the timeline.
