O-Oh. It's Dirk's bro. His teenage, alternate universe bro. Jane clears her throat, a little embarrassed.]

[And here's that Audino popping into view, shaking her head.]

Soup. Vegetable soup with a lot of beans to compensate for the utter lack of meat...it sounds bland, but I found some nice herbs to add to it, so it should be palatable for people and Pokemon. [At least she hopes so. Veggies are healthy for the Pokes, right?] I guess Dinah's excited because it was because she won a lot of battles so we could buy the ingredients.

I bet it's zesty as hell and tastes like a dream. Runs a little healthy for my palate, though. Like, where's the cardboard? Can you put it in a Hot Pocket?

The Pokedex said she's a Normal type and "the Hearing Pokemon". [So, yeah, she gonna take hella care of them big ears. How prone are Audino to infections?

Jane snickers at the Hot Pocket thing.] Oh no, buster, none of those are being eaten on my watch! Besides, even if I wanted one, are there microwaves out on trails and routes? [She gestures to the nature around her.] If I've missed them, please, point me in the nearest direction. It's kind of intimidating to build your own fire.

[Also, if she can help it, both Pokemon AND people in her care are going to eat well. No crap is going in anyone's body, save for cake. Cake isn't crap anyway.]

You have a point, and cold Hot Pockets are just wrong. I guess mostly when I travel I rely on like, beef jerky and shit. Or run around with kids who are better at the whole wilderness survival gig than I am.

I kind of like making the fire, though. It's not so bad once you do it once or twice.

[She is, though. There's no contest. All the other teenage grandmothers of the world relented at her might.]

That's good, then! I highly doubt anyone wants people starving on the routes, even though our "Mom" is so quick to kick us out of her house.

[She hums, shrugging. Dinah has bored of the ladle and returned it to the pot to sit next to Jane, humming contentedly.]

I don't know, I always get a little nervous. Having the flame so close to your hands and all...and matches are so finicky, you can't tell when they'll light or not! I know there are Fire type Pokemon, though, so hopefully if I can find one, maybe it won't mind helping out.

[Gently, he places his hand right in her mane and strokes down. The flames part flickeringly around his hand, but also, he doesn't even seem to feel that heat, and when he lifts his palm it's completely untouched.]

[Yeah wow just. Jane and Dinah are staring in awe at that one for a moment, and then Dinah reaches out toward the PokeGear.]
