Meatloaf?

[ Natsu is trying not to laugh, but let's be honest, he's never been good at stopping this kind of thing. His charmander, Rascal, is peeking over his shoulder, sound asleep for once. ]

Sorry, man, that thing really doesn't look like a meatloaf. But anyway, you should be alright? I mean, there's a lotta people around who don't mind letting people stay the night. Meatloaf or whatever looks a lot scarier than this guy and I've never had any trouble.

[toothaches]

_{[He's not sure if this guy is laughing with him (at the circumstances of it all) or at him. Still, he forces a smile.]}

Yeah, well...no. But Meatloaf is the name of a singer back home.

_{[It's then that he notices Rascal who is VERY CLEARLY some sort of baby dinosaur. Maurice's face lights up.]}

Woah! What's that little dude? And how long have you been here?

[ Guess that answers that, then. ]

Oh, this guy? The dude who gave him to me called him a charmander, I think. Believe me, though, he ain't usually this peaceful.

[ Natsu can't keep the excited shine from his eye. For all the headache this little thing gives him, he can't help but feel like they have a lot in common, though it's not like he'd ever admit that outright. ]

He looks kinda like a dragon, right? Breathes fire and everything!

[toothaches]

_{[Maurice nods enthusiastically. The only thing cooler than a dinosaur was a dragon! Oh man!]}

That makes sense! I mean, look at 'em, he's orange! Looks like a lot of these guys are color-coded.

[ Natsu just nods right back, grinning from ear to ear. ]

Right? I just hope he gets more cooperative before he gets too big. I can hardly rein him in when he's little!

[ He cranes his neck a little bit, as if changing his angle would let him get a better view of Maurice's surroundings. No luck, of course. ]
