Since coming to this place Vanitas has been pretty indifferent about actually attempting to make friends. He was trying very hard to deny that he had other feelings outside of the feelings he was created from and he just thinks relationships are pointless.
Well, lucky for him, several people have changed his view on that and Yuri is one of them.
There's something about Yuri that amused Vanitas to know end. He's a spitfire and determined, not put off by anything or anyone. For the most part he can go toe to toe with Vanitas verbally which is always welcome and, let's be honest, they're both little assholes. He's found himself starting to actually like talking to Yuri and he doesn't really get why but it's a thing and whatever he'll just play it off as wanting to steal Yuri's Pokemon or something in the end. Maybe.
Yuri's making him like the idea of having a friend, or friends even, and he actually doesn't mind it all that much. Just don't expect him to say it out loud.

Diana, like Yuri, has really made Vanitas start to reconsider the whole friendship thing even if he doesn't want to admit it. There's something about her whit that amused him and she doesn't seem to be phased by much which is nice considering how most people tend to react to him.
The fact that she reached out to him has thrown him for a loop because all she wanted was to know how he was doing and what he was up to and WHAT THE HECK SHE HAS TO WANT SOMETHING RIGHT? He really sucks at the casual chatter thing but he's trying if only because he actually kind of likes having someone to talk to.

Gaige is kind of completely insane and Vanitas thinks she's absolutely hilarious. She's the kind of person he wants to keep pestering because she's so weird and her arm comes off. That's just entertaining all on it's own. He's not sure if he'd lump her into the friends category--BECAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE FRIENDS OKAY--but she's interesting and has the potential to be a lot of fun.
If nothing else, he'll enjoy riling her up if he gets the chance.
