Lay it on me.

Armin reminds Newt a lot of himself. He's inquisitive and has such a passion for learning plus he genuinely cares about the animals in his care! Newt has a lot of respect for how much Armin is trying to learn and do.

It's also rare for him to find someone that understands his own passion for this sort of thing, who expects it so readily and Newt treasures Armin's friendship because of it. He's not good with putting stuff like that into words, it takes awhile like it did with Jacob back home, but it's definitely obvious in the way that Newt interacts with Armin and readily reaches out to him to share things with him.

Newt wants nothing more than to teach Armin everything he knows and share every single thing he discovers with him because Armin is the type of friend that Newt has always been longing for. (And hasn't had since he was at Hogwarts.) He'd go to bat for Armin in a heartbeat and trusts him more than anyone else he's met thus far.

Ash loves Noctis. He's an awesome guy, a great friend and even though they're worlds apart in many ways, that all seems to fade into the background when they're hanging out together. While it sometimes comes up, he doesn't want it to bother him. And while they do muck around a lot, there's a genuine connection there. He'd tell Noctis about more serious things that bug him, when they come up.

DANNY > BEAN

His Queen! His love! He adores her and just wants to make her smile by being a goof, along with giving her delicious treats, telling her sweet things, being carried by her...someday he's gonna carry her. He can do it

AN TINTREACH > KITTY, CROWE & AMICITIA

Her pupils and her best friends! She's so happy that they picked her up when she wasn't feeling so charged. And they're so strong! So fierce! They always were in her eyes. And together, they're gonna be legends!

FINGERGUNS

Hey lil bro/cousin!

Ah, Armin. Ash sees Armin very much like a younger brother. He wants to show him everything to see his reaction to it all, and to encourage his interests. He knows Armin's more..proper than him, and more intellectual, but that just means he's gonna sit with Armin and ask all about water type Pokemon, and tell him the stories he has from home about the sea.

He knows he'll never fully understand where Armin's come from; it's just, unimaginable for him in a way and even so, he'd refuse to believe that putting kids into the army is in any way an acceptable solution. So in a way, he's just. Trying to let Armin really experience life in a way that, Ash feels, he should have been able to.

EW GOD NO WORST

No, but seriously, Ash is Noctis's best friend and he didn't realize just how close they were until the Prompto stuff happened because Noct is a little oblivious about stuff sometimes but man does he appreciate Ash so much. He feels like he can genuinely tell Ash anything and everything that's going on and doesn't feel the need to keep stuff from him. Having Ash traveling with them now has done wonders to boost Noct's spirits and he hasn't realized it yet but there's definitely more than just friendship feelings starting to form.

Ash helps Noctis feel like a young 20-something year old in a way that he hasn't felt like in quite some time. With all the crap going on back home and the stuff he found out about from Ignis, Noct was starting to feel like he couldn't just enjoy himself. But each and every time he starts to feel that way Ash is there to drag him out of it and that's what makes Ash so special to him. His ability to just lift the mood and his ability to just always know what to say to make Noct laugh.

AND BECAUSE YOU DID IT

Bean > Danny

She adores him, plain and simple. She has never felt for another Pokemon like she does for Danny and just wants to hug him and nuzzle him all day long if she can. All of his gifts are treasured by her and she loves to spoil him in return whenever she can!

THE TRIO > An Tintreach

THE BEST MENTOR IN THE WORLD THEY LOVE HER SO MUCH. Seriously to them she is a GIANT and they look up to her and want to be just like her!

It's hard for Walter to put into words but he's oddly at ease around Cissnei. While their friendship isn't the deepest or the most profound, she's easy to talk to and to be around as well. He doesn't feel any pressure to talk when they're hanging out, and he doesn't feel 'forced' into a conversation with her either. And that's almost comforting to have in a friend, given his lack of experience with people.

Eventually he will want to open up to her but, how do you even begin to talk about these things? Most of the others he's opened up to in the past have mentioned something that set up the conversation, or they already sort of knew about what he was talking about from their own experiences.

What a good, sensible Pokemon he is. Very loyal to his trainer and very practical too. ~~And he's quite handsome~~

More than friendship feels growing slowly - I can't wait to see that develop <3 Ash is definitely fond of Noctis but he's pretty damn oblivious as well when it comes to romance
