....wait, is no one shocked by that?
Anyway! What started as being attracted to her simply for the subtle blend of snark, good looks and bad girl vibe, turned into more of a friendship based around the fact that Diana finds Jinx amusing and Jinx finds Diana interesting aside from the crush.
Jinx has never met someone like Diana in her world. An obvious dark past sure but people in her world tend to be more open about those sorts of things. So Jinx has had to take her time taking what bits and pieces of information Diana's been willing to let free and while that still in no way gives her a full picture, it made Jinx more protective over Diana.
In a weird way, Diana brings out Jinx's more heroic tendencies. She's willing to fight to keep Diana from harm even if she knows damn well that Diana's pokemon are stronger then hers.
Incidentally, she is eternally frustrated that Diana seems to be a natural at pokemon, while she studies and trains every day and still can barely keep up.
Jinx worries about Diana, she worries about the way she obsesses over food and tries to laugh it off. It's not like she hasn't lived with some bottomless stomachs before. But Diana takes it to a real place, and the more real Diana gets the more obvious it is that Jinx is unprepared and possibly incapable of getting her the help she needs.
And so with that nagging anxiety in the back of her mind, Jinx does what she can do. She brings snacks, she tries to keep things light, she suggests activities that might be interesting or beneficial...and sometimes drags Diana on these activities against her will.
There's a part of Jinx that is sure that Diana will never be romantically interested in her, especially when she sees the way Diana crushes on Walter, but after her last couple relationships Jinx is OK with just leaving things as they are for now.
Sure that means there's not a lot of progress, but she's been spinning her wheels since she got to this silly world, so that's not anything new to her.
What Jinx likes most about Diana is that she is very...VERY smart. She may not make wise decisions but she is smarter then most girls her age and if she'd grown up in Jinx's world, Jinx thinks she might have made a decent villainess or possibly even half assed hero (Because she knows Diana would never want to be a full time, full fledged hero. That's waaaaay too much work and self sacrifice.)
What Jinx dislikes the most is not knowing how to help when Diana's having a bad day. Somewhere between being someone Diana can laugh at, and being someone Diana trusts enough to cling at her when she's upset, Jinx finds that she can be useful even if she doesn't know how to help.
