[Hey it's Harry Mason, he's just looking somewhat ...frazzled?]
So we caught a wild pokemon, that's normal... but I have a quick question...
[The camera is pointed to a bunch of floating keys in front of him, before it's pointed back to himself.]
How is that a pokemon....why is that a pokemon.......did keys become sentient while I was gone? Should I be worried about anything else becoming sentient on me?
[They keys just jingle behind him and he sighs.]
No, it's fine. I'll think of something to name you....I don't suppose It's Locked would work.
[Text Post]
I know they have books here. Do you think you'd be able to get books published here if you're supposed to be a pokemon trainer. It's not that I don't like training but I have to admit, writing is still more my style.
VIDEO
[ Hello Harry Mason, here's Walter Sullivan with a candle on his shoulder. Said candle has a tiny, Litwick-sized fan and is fanning her flame, letting it burn brightly. ]
...you mentioned being gone. Have you been in this world before?
no subject
[The jingle of keys is floating behind him still, but he's less freaked out now, after the shock of WHY ARE THERE FLOATING KEYS has worn off a bit.]
I was. For about....three years or so. I'm not sure how long ago that was here though.
no subject
She is a Litwick. So, people can return...? [ It felt almost cruel, to present this hope to him as he remembered the people who had vanished since he had arrived last year. ]
no subject
[Yeah....he can relate. He lost a lot of good friends, he lost Lisa all over again and now he's lost her namesake.]
They can. ...though It didn't happen very often when I was here, sadly. This place always seemed so random with who it brought over and when or for how long they stayed. I suppose that hasn't changed.
no subject
[ Meanwhile Source accepts the apology with a dismissive wave of her fan, but she noticed Walter's demeanour. She papped his cheek, clearly telling him to not look so glum. After all, she's right here! He gave her a look before returning to Harry ]
That does make sense. It has been a year since I arrived, and the people who I knew...they have not returned at all. I did not think it was possible.
no subject
Yeah. Like I said, it's rare. I don't think I ever got someone back that vanished while I was there. As much as I'd hoped for it.
And there were sometimes cases where....they'd come back and not remember anything about the place. My daughter had that happen a few times to her I believe. I don't know if that's worse or not.
no subject
[ That's...that's terrible and it shows when he hears that's a possibility. The ide aof people who had meant so much to him, not remembering... ]
I...I shouldn't have expected any better from this world. It gives so much...it only makes sense that it would have another side to it. Nothing can be as good as it made itself appear to be.
no subject
There are good and bad sides to all worlds. Or at least that's my experience in talking to people and coming from my own to this one.
There are good things and there are bad things. What matters most is that we treasure the time we have with the people who become our friends and do our best to make things better, even if the world is dark and sometimes filled with terrible people.
no subject
Where I came from...there was no light. The world was corrupt to it's core, stained by humanity.
This place is better. Even if it has the potential to be cruel, it is not...it's not where I came from. The Pokemon are...little angels, in their own ways. [ He glances to Source again who is immediately pleased and gives a distinctive laugh, opening her fan and hiding her mouth. She's a character, but she's good. ]
no subject
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can find something better here.
[And he does. And he would even if he knew who you were.]
My own world....wasn't the best. It did cruel things, it had terrible people. I lost...so many people. But my daughter was there and she was my light. Sometimes all it takes is one person to live for and everything can be a little better.
no subject
...I do have something better here. Anything was better than where I was...and what I was. [ He murmurs, so softly. Another Pokemon approached off screen with a cry, evidently to Walter. It sounded like a Marowak. He gave the off-screen Marowak a smile. ]

[The thing about Harry is. ...he really, honestly is. Total stranger but he thinks people deserve to be happy.]
If things get bad here though, feel free to give me a call. I know we just met but ...I know what having nothing to go back to is like.
[Being dead does that, doesn't it Walter.]
no subject
...why would you do that for me? [ It had been a year but total strangers showing any kind of kindness...it's not something Walter will really adjust to. ]

video;
[There's another one hanging out above Jean's shoulder, jingling merrily when he sees another of his kind.]
The keys aren't actually part of his body, he'll just find those on his own. And there are lots of Pokemon that look like other things! Do you want one that looks like a living Pokeball?
[Jean, no, not everyone wants one of your Voltorbs!]
video;
[Looking over at Locked.]
....where do those go to then?
[Sorry got distracted, also had an idea for a story but looking back.]
There's one that looks like a pokeball? Wouldn't that get confusing?
video;
[Jean expression grows somber for a moment.]
Don't leave your work key laying around, or he might decide he likes it and then you have to take him to work with you every. Single. Day.
[Gulliver jingles and shivers over Jean's shoulder, completely unrepentant. He likes going to Starmiebucks with Jean, so it's all good as far as he's concerned.]
No, they have eyes so you can tell them apart.
video;
[Pokemon who steal keys. What is this world...]
Even if they close their eyes?
video;
[More jingling from Gulliver. All the keys are belong to him!]
They usually don't. Too busy glaring. And they're bigger than Pokeballs.
video;
[Yeah, just giving you a look there Locked. Who also jingles proudly. All keys will be his!]
Interesting. And here I thought the animal based ones could get a bit odd.
video;
Oh, the animal ones are plenty weird too. The weirdest ones are the ghosts, though. Have you seen a Mimikyu yet?
[Do you want to see a Mimikyu?]
video;
[Does....he want to see one? Probably not. But that never stops life from showing him monsters anyway.]
video; OH MY GOD I wasn't thinking, good job Jean, show the SH protag your spooky Pokemon
Hold on, let me find her... Spooky! Where are you?
[Some rustling and moving around, and then the sounds of scrambling. A few seconds later, there's another Pokemon perched on Jean's other shoulder, holding onto his neck with one shadowy claw. Spookycheeks examines the man in the camera, then waggles her ears and chirps.]
This is Spookycheeks. She's a Mimikyu. They just started appearing about a year ago.
video; at least it doesn't have a knife!
[Okay it's not as bad as some of the stuff he's seen in Silent Hill but ....it's a bit close for comfort.]
Ah....hello there.
.....do people know where they came from?
video; she probably does, she's just hiding it
[Spookycheeks watches the camera a moment more, then scuttles off Jean's shoulder and disappears.]
They're cool, though. They make that disguise so they look like Pikachus. Spooky laid some eggs awhile ago, and when one was a Mimikyu like her, she made her a disguise so she wouldn't have to hide.
