Mabel snorted, rolling her eyes with a big grin.

"Whatever you say, Grunkle Stan," she said in a very 'Oh you silly old person' manner, happily waving at Brawly. "You were AAAAA-MAZING!" she praised, throwing her arms up since she couldn't really move thanks to her lap being occupied by a gleaming and glittering Turtwig.

Her Meowth's eyes got wide when the Crabrawler started flexing, paws going to his cheeks. So strong!

"It's called Bedazzling!" Mabel said matter of factly, grinning at Stan as she made a show of presenting her Turtwig. "Shelly has to look her best~"

Brawly bumped her fists together, proud to receive all the praise and attention from Mabel and her Meowth. Did she wink at the Meowth - damn right she did, she's that smooth.

"Her best huh? What for? When she fights all that junk's just gonna come flying right off!" He pointed out, toweling his face and neck. "Unless they do like, Pokemon Beauty Pageants. Is that a thing? I mean I wouldn't be surprised but it'd still be weird. Like those baby pageants. Yuurgh!" Why take something and have it parade around in weird outfits when it could be fighting? He'd rather watch Baby Fights than any pageant!

And did said Meowth swoon? You're damn right he did!

"To impress the boys, Grunkle Stan, duh!" Mabel sighed and gently rolled the Turtwig off her lap--Shelly didn't wake up at all seriously this Turtwig could sleep through the end of days if she had to--and stands up, dusting off her skirt before putting her hands on her hips. "I admit, I do want to dominate the Beauty Pageants because, come on, who could honestly beat me?" Mabel gives him a cheeky grin then rolls her eyes and waves her hand like she's brushing the comment aside. "Shelly's out to find love though, Grunkle Stan! And as a professional match-maker I have to help her look her best!"

"Mabel, they're animals. They don't do the whole, matchmaking thing." He waved his hand dismissively at the idea. "It's all pheromones and opportunity and spring. Hey, and for half of them it's fighting! You ever seen a couple of deers fight? It's great!"

...While completely ignoring Brawly scuttling over to check out Shelly's bedazzled self, clearly fascinated by how shiny she was.
