Effect: Friday, July 8: Flower Gift - All day, despite the season, flowers drift down from the sky. They’re harmless, beautiful, and smell lovely, but if trainers aren’t careful, they might end up trudging through rosedrifts up to their knees before long.
Swarm: Tuesday, July 12: Spinda
Effect: Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17: Worry Seed - Affected characters won’t be able to get any sleep. Does that make your character cranky? Does it damage their brain-to-mouth filter? The effects can last as little or as long as you’d like over this weekend.
Effect/Swarm Double Duty: Friday, July 22: Surf - Large waves appear in all bodies of water, including things like bathtubs and your Sawsbucks drinks (it’s just bean water, you know). Be careful on the ocean, but also, hang ten, dudes! The waves won’t destroy anything, but trainers are going to get wet on this ride. Also, oh god, small jellyfish Pokemon (Tentacool, Frillish, Inkay) happen to be swarming randomly in these bodies of water. GANBATTE, VICTORY ROAD.
Effect: Friday, July 29: Haze - The forecast is misty inside and out on this oddly cool July day. Affected trainers will find it difficult to remember things, whether those happened long ago or just five minutes past. The memories aren’t gone, of course, it’s just…foggy.

Ford Pines | Gravity Falls

[There's a moment of shaky-cam as Ford positions the Gear and then steps back into frame. He's still getting the hang of this device but, like most things, he's picked it up quickly.]

Good day, all. I have recently discovered something fascinating and I wanted to confer with the rest of you on how wide-spread it may be as a general phenomena. Eleanor here will demonstrate.

[He gestures to something out-of-frame, and there's a moment's pause.]

Ellie, don't be shy. Come on now.

[An Elgyem floats hesitantly into frame. Ford pulls a berry from his pocket (please don't keep those in your pockets, sir, jeez) and holds it out to her.]

Now, observe as she eats -- despite having no visible mouth. I have observed her since I first arrived and I have never once seen any orifice even resembling a mouth, not even during an examination specifically with the stated intent of finding one.

[He doesn't seem disturbed by this. If anything, he's absolutely jazzed.]

Is this common in other Pokémon, or is it specific to her species?

[Flowers]

[Ford has seen a lot of odd things in his life, and so when the sky starts raining flowers it doesn't bother him much. So they get in his hair and catch in the collar of his coat and he has to kick through flower drifts as high as his thighs to move forward; he's faced far worse.]

I wonder if this is common weather for this dimension... [He laughs softly to himself.] At least it's not the universe where it literally rained cats and dogs.

[It took him weeks to get rid of the fleas.]

[Meanwhile, should Ford looking around, he might happen to see a familiar face wandering around! With so many flowers all around, Mabel and her Pokemon wasted no time in trying to grab as possible as they could!

And to think, they might be able to make a bunch of flower crowns after all of this was over!]

[meteorman]

[You know who obviously needs a flower crown? Muscle grandpa over here. He almost doesn't notice Mabel considering the flowers come up almost over her head, but he spots those familiar Pines sticky-uppy hair bits (seriously, what are those things?) and that's about all the confirmation he needs.]

Mabel? Mabel!

[meowbel]

[Don't worry, Ford! Once the both of them gets out of here, he'll get one right away! And that's exactly what she did the moment she heard a certain voice!]

Grunkle Ford? Grunkle Ford!!

[She shouted at the top of her lungs before swimming (yes, she was swimming!) through the pile of flowers toward them! With those sticky hair bits coming ever so closer to him, she raised a flower crown up to him!]

I didn't know you were here! This is great, now we can make a bunch of flower crowns together!

[meteorman]

[Oh boy. He can practically hear the sparkling. He knows from experience that he absolutely is not going to get out of making flower crowns now that the possibility's been brought up and, frankly, he's just so pleased to see Mabel that he doesn't care. He kneels down to mitigate the differences in their heights somewhat. If that puts his head within be-flowering range, well, so be it.]

I wouldn't be averse to it, but you'll have to show me how. None of my PhDs are in flower-crown construction.

[meowbel]

[At this point, all Mabel could do was stare up at her Grunkle with starry eyes! She was just so happy to see him here! Who cares if she was drowning in an ocean of flowers, he was here! And especially make a bunch of stuff with her too!]

Then allow me to show you! It's pretty easy, all you have to do is make sure the stems are really long!

[With that, she grabbed a bunch near by before lining all the stems up. Using one of the flowers, she made sure to loop it around the others and continued to do so!]

And boom, instant flower crown!!

You know, I am aware that you're just being crass for the sake of being crass, but the honest answer is that I am not sure about that either.

don't these little fuckers lay eggs. where the hell are those coming from. baffling.

They do! Even the mammalian ones, and the ones that don't seem to be organic in nature at all. It's really very strange. I believe there is one species that is itself a collection of eggs, and yet still hatches from an egg.

[A pale, red-eyed boy watches curiously, head tilted to one side.]

But...if she doesn't have a mouth...how can she eat?

[meteorman]

[Ooh, an... albino? How interesting. In that certain way Ford has of naturally wanting to gather to himself other people who are Weird, he already feels a sort of kindred bond.]

I haven't the faintest idea! Isn't it incredible? The only possible explanation is that she somehow absorbs the food via a kind of osmosis, but I have never seen any species in any universe employ that method of feeding where solid foods are concerned. Usually it's reserved for liquids or varieties of energy.

[Ford -- Ford this is a kid -- Ford you need to slow down-- ]

[Slow blinking. He got maybe half of that before it started to blur into science babble.]

Uh...yeah, it's really cool! And it's good, 'cause then the Pokemon won't get hungry. [He looks down, as if pulling something out of his pocket - oh, a Pokeball! He opens it up and out pops a Flabebe, twirling happily with her yellow flower.] Gracie has a mouth, but she's really little so she doesn't eat lots. But, that's okay, because then it's real hard to run out of food for her!

[They're literally still working on her first ever Oran Berry. He just wraps it up and puts it away when she's full. They've got about a third of it left.]

[meteorman]

Oh, A Flabébé! I've never seen one before.

[He's read about them, but that's hardly the same. Hm. A little bigger than he expected, actually. Or perhaps this boy is just very small? It's hard to tell over video.]

How much does she eat per sitting, generally? How often per day?

[Dipper wasn't enjoying the flowers as much. He has made the mistake of looking up long enough to accidentally inhale one... Ford, are you going to ignore a kid in distress? He's now seen coughing and trying to dislodge the plant from his throat. It takes a few moments before he's now out of danger. Why is this world so weird?

His Eevee isn't faring much better since the flowers are getting rather high.]

Ugh, come on Tyrone. Let's find a tree or something to hide under-

[Familiar voice? ... Is that really?]

Grunkle Ford! [WHY IS HE SO TINY THESE FLOWERS ARE AWFUL TO WADE THROUGH just let him get to Ford please]

[meteorman]

[Oh, hey, there's a familiar squeaky just-barely-a-teen voice. Ford turns, spots the hat, and a second later he's bounding through the flowers like they're not there at all. At least working toward each other through the flowers they manage to meet in the middle, so Dipper doesn't have to struggle for too long.]

Dipper! Dipper, it's such a relief to see you!

[After finally settling back into having a family, he couldn't deny that it was kind of crushing to think of going back to facing the multiverse alone. This is vastly preferable all around.

He scoops Dipper up out of the flowers, easily holding him up much like he did months ago in the Fearamid. Tyrone, not forgotten, winds up in the crook of his other arm. He can't leave the little fluffball to drown in petals, can he?]

[Darn adults and their heights. It's not Dipper's fault he's so short!

Wow, this is all too familiar. Not in a bad way. He gives his grunkle a nervous laugh as his eyes look down at the petals. At least I'm not going to drown in a flowery mess.]

This has gotta be the weirdest weather in the worlds.

[Unless you count raining animals. Since Dipper is chill about being held the way he is, Tyrone settles right down and goes to sleep. Running through flowers left this little Eevee exhausted.]

So, when did you get here?

[meteorman]

[It's alright, Dip. If the other Pines men are anything to go by, in a couple years puberty is going to really kick in, and when it does it's going to hit you like a truck.]

Not too long ago. I wasn't expecting any familiar faces, I have to admit. It seems like falling into other dimensions runs in the family!

Oh wow...that is weird. Or. I guess it's weird? My dog breathes fire. If you question too much in this place you'll get a migraine.

On the contrary! One can never question too much.

[Like, okay, maybe don't go poking your head into Demon Business but other than that. He'd like to think he's learned where the line is.]

Pokemon research is a valid field of study in this dimension and I intend to make my mark on it.

From what I hear there are plenty of these creatures that are mechanical in nature. You may very well have more input to give than you think.

Hey, your guess is probably way better than mine, Mr. Ford. All the ones I've got so far definitely have mouths.

[The camera shifts downward a little to show a Slowpoke contentedly hanging in a baby sling.]

I mean check out the jaws on Little Dude here. She can definitely pack it away, y'know what I mean?

[He takes a second to muppet his Slowpoke's mouth open and closed a few times in demonstration.]

NYOM NYOM NYOM- ...seriously though, don't get between her and her food when it's dinner time, it's not pretty.

[Only Soos would name a female pokemon 'Little Dude'. It's endearing, honestly. Soos isn't at all the kind of person Ford finds it easy to connect with but he does have to respect that boundless enthusiasm. That at least is something they share.]

I... would imagine so. Ellie here doesn't have quite so big an appetite but not having a mouth certainly doesn't stop her eating, as you can see.

I would have expected a Slowpoke to eat very little, considering how little energy they expend.

I figure maybe doin' all her psychic whatsits takes up energy, even if she's not really moving that much.
