[Fresh out on her pokemon adventure with a loyal Mawile at her side, Gaige is riding high on the idea of having a pokemon adventure.]

Alright Anarchy, we're gonna level grind like there's no tomorrow! Consider yourself lucky you're on the winning team because I am a certified badass! Can you say Badass?

We'll work on that. Anyway I've fought monsters the size of friggin' buildings! And you may not be my usual partner...but Deathtrap wouldn't want me to dwell on the past!

[She sounds a little choked up mentioning her former partner]

DT, we'll make you proud! Now let's get into that grass and find something worth fighting!!!

[ The loud mouthed girl throws herself headlong into the grass swiping with her hands while the Mawile follows hot on her heels. She may not understand her trainer very much yet, but you can't deny her enthusiasm can you? Maybe you can offer her some advice so she can stop being a noob faster.]

[She holds up her partner, a Mawile who looks at the Camera with pride and then turns her head in a sassy way as if you don't deserve to see her true face.]

I found her, she's mine and I will never let her go.

Anyway WHERE MY NERDS AT? I wanna know what we got to work with around here. I can't Mechromance without mechs you know what I mean?

[You should always go into the tall grass if you're looking to train your pokemon, but the guidebooks also say you should watch out for other trainers as well.

There's probably no mention of trainers crashing into one another at full tilt though.]

...Huh- Whaa!!

[Rakka only gets to look up before she's plowed into by the redhead.]

GAH! SHIT!

[Falling backwards and landing on her rear Gaige is clutching her head where it collided with Rakka.]

Watch where you're going smeghead!!

[Looking up for her attacker...she realizes the grass is too tall and she has to scramble to her feet. She reaches for her gun...only to remember she doesn't have it anymore. Or any guns for that matter. This place sucks for weapons and she already dearly misses her collection.]

Whi?

[Oh right, her pokemon is there looking concerned...though not too concerned. The Sassy little Mawile looks almost disappointed in her trainers reaction which Gaige promptly ignores.]

Squawk!! Squawk?

[All of a sudden, a head rises above the tall grass... and then another. Two heads that looks distinctly like some kind of... Ostrich? Do those exist where Gaige is from? Either way, they're clearly the ones that were squawking, and now they're eyeing whoever had just so happened to run over their trainer.]

Ow, ow ow.... [A groan emanates from the grass. Rakka's the last to rise to her feet, but she's also rubbing a sore spot on her arm from where she landed. Not exactly how she wanted training to go, but what else is new.

she barely reaches to above the tall grass as it is, just this bob of brown hair and two eyes meeting Gaige's.]

Ah! [she jumps a little.] O-oh. I'm... sorry? I didn't see you there.

[Yes, apologize, Rakka. That's your fault.]

[Behold the mighty mechromancer in all 5'3 inches of her fury. Ultimately it was an accident but she's clearly looking for a fight.]

If I understand how things work around here, my girl here's gonna kick your ass! So trot out whatever lame ass monster you got!

[Meanwhile Anarchy the Mawile seems less interested in the chance for a fight and more interested in a berry she just found on the ground.]

[Behold the... might of a 4'10' girl who's looking quite frazzled right now.]

[even her Dodrio is looking from the new human to the pokemon in confusion. What is this...]

[Or at least she really wants to, but thankfully for everyone involved Gaige doesn't have access to her anarchy drive right now, and her Mawile continues to lack interest so logic is starting to overtake her anger.]

I mean I guess not, but I thought that's how things went around here.

[Logically, that is how things should be going down right now, even in Rakka's mind she would probably be throwing down with this punk girl any second now. But... things were a bit different now, at least between those that arrived here.

And her Dodrio was already judging the little Mawile and her berry - as though they were trying to tell their trainer "Why can't you give us food like that"?]

Aha... Well, they can be. Sometimes people don't want to fight though. So they just... say no?

[Mawile finishes off the berry happily and looks up as if she just realized they still have company.]

Fiiiiine, geeze ya wimp. You're lucky we're not back on Pandora or I'd have blown yer friggin' face off by now...or made Deathtrap do it.

[She sighs.]

My poor Deathtrap, I hope he's remembering to keep his battery charged.

[The Mawile rolls her eyes at this apparently having seen her trainer lament about this "Deathtrap" one too many times already]

[His volume and the guttural growl in his voice both increase toward the end of his statement, and he's back to shoving his face up against the device again, giving Gaige another close-up look of his eye, which...now that the topic's shifted to Jack, is a lot more wild than it was previously.]

[ And then she thinks about it for a minute and remembers they're not on Pandora anymore.]

Err...of course we mean that in a metaphorical sort of murder sense...because what kind of idiots would broadcast their intentions to commit crime on a public access channel? Not these idiots no way.

[For a long moment, Angel was left to gaze at her ECHO device. Gaige had been here once before, at least to her memory. It was like that here, she was beginning to find. People would appear and then disappear, only to reappear a short while later, perhaps for good.]

[Even still, she couldn't bring herself to speak at first. Gaige had been a dear friend to her, and just like before, it was hard to believe it was really her. Also holding her back was the very fact that, as far as Angel knew, Gaige thought her dead.]

[Talking to the dead was overwhelming. She'd begun to figure that much out.]

[But Gaige was still a friend, and Angel knew just how badly she had needed a friend upon arriving in Johto.]

Um... [Angel cleared her throat.] One nerd, reporting in. Unfortunately, there are no mechs to speak of here. At least, not on my end.

Well that sucks! Come on I'm a Mechromancer! How am I supposed to do my thing without any...mechs...to...mance...

[It took her a second but her brain just realized what and who she's looking at. Her jaw drops, her eyes boggle and she trips over something. That will teach you to live stream your pokemon adventure! She hits the grass and scrambles to catch the camera.]

A-ANGEL!?!?!

[That was about the reaction she expected. She closed her eyes for a moment, torn between laughing and cringing. Instead, she craned her neck, as if moving herself around might help her examine Gaige's potential injuries.]

[Upon finding nothing, Angel settled back down. She let out a breath.]

This place is strange, but it can work miracles, Gaige. [She allowed herself a laugh.] How have you been?

[Gaige sits up so overwhelmed she is at a loss for words, which is probably the first time that's happened in a long time.]

I...but you...and...

[Her voice cracks and she starts rubbing tears from her eyes with her noticeably not robotic arm]

F-freaking...who cares how I am stupid!!! How are you Oh my freaking god!!!

[Angel looked away, her own eyes burning. For a moment, her chest ached with guilt, feeling particularly horrible for making her friend cry. She opened her mouth to apologize, but closed it as Gaige spoke. With the redhead's words came a sense of relief.]

[This was good. Everything about this was good.]

I'm wonderful. This place has been so good to me. Krieg is here and he's been taking great care of me. There is also an amazing woman named Athena -- she's from Pandora too. You'll have to meet all of them.

[ Sniffle, more tears. I'm not crying you're crying. Mechromancers are too tough to cry!]

H-ha. If anyone could keep you safe it's him. He's saved my ass more times then I can count. Almost as many times as Deathtrap.

And Athena's here too? I just met her before I came here! She had the most amazing story about the Moon and Handsome Jerk and robots and jump pads!

He's good at that. [Of course Angel couldn't forget just how good Krieg was at saving her. He'd saved her by ensuring the fact that she took her dying breath.]

[There was no way she could ever forget those hellish final moments. Relieving as they were, they were also, just as equally agonizing.]

You've met her? [The story Gaige mentioned sounded vaguely familiar, having heard it from her father a handful of years previously. And with how secretive the whole affair had been, Angel had no reason to doubt the truth of Gaige's words]

Like I said, you will have to meet them. I'm sure they'd enjoy your company.

Oh I'm gonna! And then I'm gonna meet you and give you the BIGGEST HUG!
