sorry i'm late. been sick weh
[Sasha, the Queen of Munching and Crunching, does not want to imagine her cute little collection of Pokemon grilled up.
She's leaving that fate to other Pokemon.]
you cant eat the berries either theyll make you sick
oh my gosh you're not late at all, i hope you're feeling better!
All berries here?
[ Not that berries were a big part of her diet at any point, but it'd be good to know if she should be avoiding All Berries or not. ]
not really but i'm still alive through sheer spite lol
the pokeberries i mean they look like regular berries but theyre not for humans but if you get a tropius you can eat the bananas off of him or her
you know, when it works, it works XD
This is like the one person saying you can eat tails off some because they regenerate them. Is there some difference in foliage or where the pokeberries grow or are you supposed to find out the hard way when desperate, hungry, and undersupplied?
no subject
the slowpokes are like lizards yes we ate lizards where im from i havent eaten a slowpoke though and yes if you pay attention you can tell the difference also you can just buy human berries in the store or ask the mom lady for some
[Wow, Sasha, did you eat your punctuation too? You've been taking reading and writing lessons for the last couple of weeks. What happened to what you've learned so far?]
no subject
Do you talk like how you write?
[ It's exhausting, though the information is at least informative. Including the weird role of "Mom." What kind of messed up mind control memory overwriting is involved there and does she really, really want to know? ]
The answers are appreciated, either way. Are there any other people who appear to be native here that act like "Mom" does, as if they know and expect us to be here?
no subject
[Sasha also doesn't ask about the Mom Lady. It's a touchy subject and as long as the woman keeps giving her a free lunch every time she visits, Sasha isn't really going to try and accidentally offend her.]
are you asking if we have a dad man here too because no but there are people who are from here but theyre nice sometimes they give you free stuff too
no subject
[ The debate is if Annie personally cares, and she really doesn't. The run-ons were making her eyes start to glaze over, but she's read worse digging through archived reports, so there's that, at least. ]
Not a "Dad." [ She doesn't think she'd have handled someone wanting to be called that so well, but she hadn't needed to find out. ] Other people who live here and treat us like we're someone they knew from before we arrived. You say people give free stuff, but what does that mean? Organised charity? Random acts of giving?
no subject
[And now her replies come slower as she takes the time to make sure she's using the right one. Hope whoever is on the other side of this has time to kill.]
oh no not really. we are all strangers to them too. they just give stuff out sometimes. pokemon stuff like potions and food. food for humans too. a couple months ago i got a book and some stickers and when i filled it all up after hunting for people i got a pokemon egg and items to use on my pokemon.
at first i didnt trust them because no one gives things out without wanting something back but i mean it when i say people are very nice here. no ones ever asked me for something in return other than money at the store.

Still, when she does read what this person says, she finds it... bizarre. Not because currency always exchanges, but the gifting without a kind of barter back. Filling in a book with information makes more sense as an exchange than potions or food being handed off, unless everyone's well off enough to not be facing hard times parting with such things. Which might be the case. What status divides are there, if any, here? ]
I see. Do the stores also work on barter or personal credit systems, or are they currency exchanges only?
no subject
The status divides, like the ones Sasha's way more familiar with, are almost non-existent. Can you believe that?]
they take money but sometimes my friends who have their own stores give me things and refuse to take any of my money. i still find a way to do something nice for them though. its only polite.
no subject
And no, she really can't believe the lack of status divides, like those she's known before. They're so ubiquitous the lack keeps catching her attention. ]
Friendships seem to work that way. Giving and taking.
[ So it's seemed from being an outside observer the last handful of years, at least. Not necessarily in equal parts or portions. ]
