Going with before the airship. At some point I'll settle on a cannon point

[Oh no. The sneasel's long feathers immediately stand on end. He crosses his arms, chuffling. Haa, taller than you. ]

Eren... You're here as well. I didn't see you in the town. [Hint hint. She's that distracted that she's not even telling the murderweasel to stop puffing it's self up. The only thing she does is put her foot down so she hasn't paused midstep.]

[ the riolu’s own little ears stand, vibrating and looking towards eren. it’s talking to him. like, he could hear it (her, in fact), in his head. this kind of communication is a trip, but supposedly of the species, he’s heard. ]

I didn’t stand out. [ something he did for quite along time until he mastered it. well, most of it. his ga goes to the sneasel, and worriedly, the riolu whines at her new trainer. he’s got something bigger in him than sadness. ] What’re you planning on doing?

[Sneasel couldn't do anything like that. He could only yowl and run back to grab at Mikasa's leg. She doesn't lean down to meet him though, only letting her hand brush his feather.

Because she's too busy staring at Eren with the same look she'd had in Marley. Because she's not sure what to say, he'd just vanished. They'd hardly had time to talk before.

But...]

I'm not sure. There doesn't seem to be a lot of restrictions here.

[A weird lady just gave her a bag, then a new pet latched on and that was that.]

[ he was prepared for this. ever since he walked out of that building, he made a choice. seeing mikasa again after so much time and to greet her almost nonchalantly . . . well, a lot happens in a few months. maybe he just had yet to grasp a reason to push further away. yet, of course. it’s always been yet for him for a while now.

it’s how things are now, and if he had any tears to shed, or saddened gazes to share, it would be with a mirror. he’s going back to where he belongs— and that was that. he’s hardly able to keep his guard down so soon, and where they break off would depend of, well, them, so. hm. ]

Guess we can go ahead, then. [ the riolu gives a bark in agreement, though staring very intently at mikasa’s boot, still. unless—!!! come, sneasel! she needs to find the biggest leaf she can around here! she’ll make a boot for eren. ]

[She doesn't look away. There's no immediate threat like last time. Just taking in how much he's changed in those few months. Had he always looked so haggard, or was that the beard that growing?]

Where- [Sneasel no.

He starts...squirming. Jumping up to headbutt her hand with a cry. Then he's darting off. Is Riolu doing a mischief? He's down for mischief! Running straight at Eren and around him before charging into a bush.

Mikasa could only stand there looking at the spot he'd disappeared into. Then Eren...]

[ well. it's not like he's attached to the pet or anything. or knows it's best to walk around with one when you can't exactly become a giant. he'll start his walk, stop midstep with his body turned slightly. ]

Wherever leads us back. [ for all he knew— that part of The Plan™ still included her at this point. ] Right?

[stopfen]

[Eren, the animal thats supposed to fight to defend her has gone running into the abyss. She jogs to the bush finally realising that she's in trouble without it. Because it turns out punting a pokemon is illegal.

But then Eren's moving, he's leaving again. ]

Sneasel! [It's curt. Please listen, and not play around for once. Then it's back to looking at Eren, seeing where he goes.]

...It doesn't sound like it works that way.

[There's a yowl and Sneasel is back... Dragging half a bush?]
