Jane huffs.]
That's not a problem. Dinah? [Her Audino perks up from trying to get the Beedril to back off, and looks over.] Could you help out this gentleman's Nidoran please? He needs a Heal Pulse.
Au-di! [Boop boop boop, Dinah approaches, letting off a pink sort of soothing wave of energy towards the Nidoran. Hopefully this is okay?]

[The Nidoran gives a happy little shake as the wave of energy washes over him, recovering quite neatly. Despite his energy, he was kind of starting to get into a worrying state... but then again, his trainer decided throwing hands and rocks alike was a viable battle strategy, so maybe they're both dumb.]
[Dimitri stares for a moment, just taking this in.]
...Thank you.
[Just like that, the hyper aggressive, rock-flinging, growling viking aura seems to ease up. Left behind is an awkward blond, visibly uncertain of the situation. He does, at last, lower the rock.]

[She's got her arms folded in front of her, so she's not...terribly thrilled? But the offer is genuine, and. Like. Holy shit, that was a mood switch for the ages.]
no subject
[Dimitri stares down at the Nidoran again for a second, before he nods slightly.]
...He is not experienced when it comes to combat. So he is reckless...
[which is entirely different from being reckless because you are overtaken by vengeance and also mildly death seeking, but listen.]
[He looks back down to the Nidoran again.]
...Lavellan. [It takes a second for the Nidoran to realize he's being spoken to; the name is apparently a new one.] Pay attention to the stinger it pulls back with. It attacks with that one.
[Which is apparently all the battling commands Dimitri is given, since the Nidoran just bounces off towards the Beedrill again. Guess who isn't... used to pokemon battling still...]
no subject
Well, battling now will help him grow stronger. It's how Pokemon work.
[I mean...look, if it works for you, then go with that battle strategy. Jane's just going to watch with Dinah at her side, and the both of them are watching the battle...while also glancing a little nervously at Large Viking Man.]
no subject
[What kind of video game are you from where that DOESN'T work- i mean]
[Lavellan the Nidoran is a very..... enthusiastic fighter, and it becomes very clear how he got beat up as he just flings himself into the fray. But he listens! And is clearly doing his best to avoid attacks better.]
[As Lavellan does that, a Tepig finally squeezes through the brush with a squeal, and trots over to lay a small hoof on Dinah's foot. Another couple of snorts that are Thanks in pokespeak. They're a polite bunch of shitshows.]
no subject
[It's hilarious because Jane's from a webcomic where she's in a video game - wait this is a silly tangent.
Dinah will look down and brighten up at the Tepig, bending down to offer her paw for this new friend to shake. Hello! No worries buddy! Her species literally is here to heal!]
I mean this in the kindest way possible, but...you're new here, aren't you?
no subject
...Yes.
[That is a very quaint way of framing 'you just died', if you ask him. But yeah, he's new here.]
no subject
[Oh lordy, he can never meet Dirk. Poor Dimitri would have an existential meltdown.]
Is there anything you're still struggling with in regards to...um, anything I guess? I've been here a few years, so it's not so strange to me anymore.
no subject
[That has Dimitri actually pause, staring at her for a long and sort of detached moment. He has a lot of questions, actually, so many that he almost doesn't know how to start with them.]
[In the backgorund, his Nidoran cheerfully gets flung across a small area and then charges back.]
....When... or, perhaps how, do we... move on?
[It's a slow, tentative sort of question, with Dimitri curling his free hand sort of near his stomach like he doesn't otherwise know what to do with it.]
OH BOY BREAKING OUT THE BIG GUNS I SEE
You mean, from this region, or Johto and Kanto...? We're kind of stuck in the latter, but if it's just a matter of going to one or the other, there is a train in Goldenrod City that can take you between them.
[oh honey no]
GO BIG OR GO HOME do not let dimitri go home right now
I meant.... moving on from this - purgatory.
To salvation... or punishment. [It doesn't particularly matter which for him.]
Re: GO BIG OR GO HOME do not let dimitri go home right now
[MASTER OF BREAKING THE NEWS TO PEOPLE RIGHT HERE]
It's a weird situation, but this is definitely not the afterlife. You're just - here! Everything's paused back home so when you do go back, you'll slot right into whatever was going on, and I've heard you don't remember being here when you're home, so there shouldn't be any conflict in that regard, but while you're here, you are one hundred percent alive.
no subject
This one doesn't realize our fate either... She's of no help.
no subject
[Dimitri she can hear you she's right here]
Don't dismiss me because I - I disagree with where you think you are! [THIS WAS VERY HARD FOR HER TO SAY instead of "because you're wrong", but. She's trying!!] You were trying to fight a giant bee with a rock, clearly there are things about this place you don't understand!
no subject
...I was not losing.
[DO YOU THINK THIS IS THE FIRST TIME HE'S FOUGHT A GIANT BEE BY HIMSELF]
[it is but listen]
no subject
[Don't play the pedantic with her buster, Jane Crocker was a pedantic way before Three Houses was released]
no subject
[SPEAKING OF, there's the sound of brush being disturbed, and Dimitri turns his head to survey the Beedrill wobbling off defeated while his Nidoran bounces over. The Nidoran is, once again, kind of busted.... but hey.]
[Dimitri crouches down again, hands held limply out until the Nidoran smacks his front feet into them proudly.]
You were victorious. You did well.
no subject
Still, aw, lookit that little guy, he's stronk. Dinah will offer up another Heal Pulse.]
See? He just needed a little boost, and he could do it himself. This world is kind of built around Pokemon competing against each other in fights like that.
no subject
[His Nidoran doesn't seem to mind this assessment, just happy to have his tiny purple face held inbetween two big hands. Some Pokemon are just that easy to please.]
If I'm not careful.... He'll end up destroyed.
no subject
[Thank goodness Jane knows enough about Gen 1 to know that.]
no subject
...What... food do you like?
[A second later, he blinks and looks up at Jane, too. Who is he asking this question to? Yes]
no subject
P-p-pardon...?
[On the one hand, titled "Jane the Heterosexual(?)", large man with deep voice asking about food preference, looking at her and her Pokemon. On the other hand, titled "Jane the rational human being", stranger asking her a weird question that doesn't seem to have anything to do with the previous conversation?
She's quite red-cheeked, by the way.
Dinah, however, just sort of tilts her head in confusion before chirping to herself. Dimitri's Pokemon will understand it as, "Well, spicy stuff, especially the red sauce that comes out of the bottle with the green cap, why?"]
no subject
[Tepig and Nidoran alike listen, the Tepig with a bit more understanding of what's going on (sort of). The former nods, squeaking out a thank you, before he looks up to Dimitri. Conversations with humans is a little difficult, but Dimitri seems to be paying attention. Dean the Tepig takes a shot, opening his little pig mouth to flare up the beginning embers of, uh, Ember.]
[Dimitri squints a little, slowly working it out. Being with parts of his soul has meant a lot of pantomiming when it comes to them. He supposes it's very symbolic that his soul can understand him, but he can't understand his soul.]
...Hot food, then?
[He's thinking of a different 'hot' but they can get to it when they get to it.]
