Lilith Clawthorne | The Owl House | ota

[painsplit]

[New Bark Town]
[There's a woman, appearing in her forties or so and clearly a new arrival, chasing a very energetic, bouncy Murkrow through town.]

Murkrowtio! [She calls after him in a tone that's firm, though she keeps her voice low and even.] You need to get into your Pokeball! The trainer's manual clearly indicates that--

[At this point, practically laughing with it's cry, the Murkrow turns around and starts bounding in the other direction, using Lilith's shoulder as a spring-pad for its jumps.]

[Union Cave]
[By the time Lilith makes it this far, it would seem she and her Murkrow are operating better as a team. While they're exploring the rocky caverns, Murkrowtio hears a peculiar, almost musical sound-- he finds it unnerving. His reaction is to start trying to nest into Lilith's hair, which gets a wry smile.]

I'm afraid you have the wrong Clawthorne for that... [But then Lilith hears the call, as well.] Hmm. What could that be?

Union Cave

[aromancy]

[Good question! And yet one that won't have an immediate answer... Although someone certainly tries. Down through the tunnels of Union Cave, there's a couple of musical chirps - not the same sound from before, but certainly someone trying to imitate it!]

[And then someone else responding, voice echoing in the caves.]

Oh, I agree. It is a lovely sound, isn't it? Do you think we can find it?

[painsplit]

[Lilith blinks, and turns to look down the tunnel in the direction of this other voice-- Mukrowtio also cranes his neck some to look that way, though he stays perched on Lilith's head.]

Well, it's certainly intriguing. [Lilith and her Murkrow head to find who is speaking to them, with Lilith trailing a hand along the rocky cave wall as she walks.] I don't see any reason why we shouldn't try to find the source.

[aromancy]

Oh! It would be fun, wouldn't it? But it looks like we'll have to find each other, first~.

[Not that it's too hard... You know, with Eliza waving her own flashlight around as she tries to make her way through the caves. Soon enough, a beam of light is flashing about the walls around a corner, and a very tall girl pops up with a Spritzee cradled in her arms.]

There you are~.

[Lilith's tall enough that she's not entirely accustomed to looking up at others, especially when they have a rather youthful way of speaking. But her surprise passes quickly, and she smiles up at Eliza. Honestly, the fact that her partner is also bird-like fuels the light in that smile.]

Lilith Clawthorne. It's nice to meet you.

[aromancy]

Oh! What a gorgeous name, I'm so jealous!

[The bit of starstruck excitement overtakes her before she can think to really rein it in at all. Fortunately, the little chirping in her arms snaps her out of it, and Elizabetta laughs a bit as she looks back at her own reaction.]

Sorry if I got too excited there. But Lilith was the name of the heroine in a school project I just got to play... Hee, what a lucky coincidence I got to meet someone with the same name... And Clawthorne makes it sound so elegant, too!

[Adjusting the little downy ball of pink in her arms, Elizabetta holds out one hand cheerfully.]

I'm Elizabetta Ix! And this here is Nain Rouge~.

[Another happy chirp.]

[What a sweet girl! Lilith can't help smiling at the compliment, even though she's also a bit embarrassed to have forgotten to introduce her Pokemon. Companions who don't talk - and talk a lot - are something she'll have to get used to, now.]

Why thank you! Your name is lovely as well, and so is your partner. What a pretty little bird. [A soft chuckle, and then she reaches up to gather her Murkrow in her arms - and out of her hair.] This is Murkrowtio.

[aromancy]

Murkrowtio! That's so charming - like right out of a play! You agree too, don't you, Nain Rouge?

[As she holds up the Spritzee, the ball of pink gives an agreeable little coo of a noise.]

I thought so~. So with the introductions done, we can find this mystery singer! I'm so glad, honestly... Doing things with other people makes it a lot more fun, I think.

[It was why she had been so glad to join up with Clara during the Harvest Festival. Really, Eliza supposes she's too much of a social butterfly at heart.]

[She gives a short laugh at the enthusiasm. Elizabetta's eagerness to work together? It strikes Lilith, someone who is still learning the ins and outs of true teamwork, as admirable. She nods to the younger woman.]

It sounded like the song was coming from further below, so the first step is to find a way deeper down, of course.

[aromancy]

Of course!

[And the first step to that is not a step at all, but making sure her little Sprtizee is nice and comfy in her arms. Certainly she's been quite the cozy companion for an adventure like this.]

[Oh, right, and she should probably remember to start pointing her flashlight around too. That would help as she starts to look around.]

I wonder how deep this cave goes... Do you think there are 666 levels to it? I would have packed more, if I'd known that!

[Lilith keeps a hand on the cavern's rocky wall as they walk, with Murkrowtio perched on her shoulder.]

666...? [A little laugh.] That's certainly a specific number, but I doubt the cavern goes quite that deep. Though... It's possible, I suppose.

[aromancy]

I suppose so... Even back home, I suppose it would be quite noticeable caverns that go that deep!

[And even more dangerous! Although the possibility of tripping on rocks is still high no matter where, and Eliza shifts her flashlight to the ground.]

And I suppose so, although I've never thought of it like that... Hee, 6 is just a really lucky number, you know! At least that's how it was where I'm from. Even the money is in forms of 6~.

Of course, 13 is really great too! Although I guess I might be a little biased now, since that's the number of students in my class~. Is there a number that's like that where you're from?
