[Honestly, it's rather lonely being in another timeline, but this former God was far too stubborn to ever admit it. Even when Loki was in the TVA, there was at least people who knew who he was. But here... it was nothing. All you must do is learn to fit in the crowd of fellow humans with their pokemon. In this case with him, another grunt of the Team Rocket bureaucracy.

The stars that fell from the sky were beautiful at least, a reminder of home. Although... Can he return home? There was enough damage from New York, and the branches of other timelines have all been managled. It would be hard to even come close to finding some place he'd might be comfortable to even settle down in.

Loki took in breath as he glanced down, holding an empty pokeball in his hand. Watching the reflection of the shining star lights glitter on the top cover. Getting lost within his thoughts.]

(B.) [Viridian City] Action

[After asking around, Loki managed to find out where the place is to do research. Walking into the massive library, the mountains of books took him back to the tiring hours of reading he did while at the TVA. Giving a winded sigh.]

Here we go again.

[Hopefully no one will interupt his "inner" thoughts while reading. But sure enough Loki had picked out a book about some of mysterious sights. Coming across the information about the Ruins of Alph, a soft voice came from his lips as he muttered out loud.]

Those who wonder too long might not realize how far they've gone... A strange radio signal can be heard... What kind of connection could one make out there it-

["SHH!" one of the patrons hushed at Loki. In which he immediately stiffened in reaction. Glaring back at them, honestly, is there really no such thing privacy?! He then took in a breath and shushed louder back before proceeding to read the book again.]

Dear to whome it may concern.

There is a sincere question I must propose... I know it seems like a very odd one, but... are Pokemon suppose to repeat their names over and over? Or just some of them? Is this their usual way of communication? Don't get me wrong, I can very much see they're quite intelligent. But I haven't ever came across creatures like this before in the places I've traveled before... Landing here. And it seems like a common trait.

[So, perhaps it had been a while since she had climbed a mountain. Also a while since she'd had an actual body to get tired from exertion, exposure, and hunger. Since she'd needed more than dim starlight to see in the shadows. It's quite an adjustment to be dealing with.]

He could have told me that 'meeting halfway' meant halfway up a swiving mountain.

[She doesn't seem to have noticed that she's not alone up here yet, talking instead to the Absol trailing her steps. At least for a few moments more, before she looks up and actually catches sight of the other person occupying this particular bit of mountain top.]

Ah. Apologies, I mean not to intrude.

[Hearing someone close by, Loki did let himself turn around when they spoke to him. Straightening up a bit, to change his demeanor to look a bit more relaxed. Smiling a little as he shook his head.]

Oh no, no trouble at all... Just watching the stars, gives one time to think.

[Glancing down to see that she had a lovely companion by her side.]

Taking a walk?

That it does.

[After a hundred years of blinding light--granted, she'd slept through a good bit of it--seeing the stars is still a comfort. They're different here, but it wasn't as if this was the first time she'd had to relearn the night sky.]

On my way to meet with an old friend. I may have underestimated how long the travel would take.

[Or overestimated her ability. Or possibly both.]

[Nods as he gave a sigh.]

Yes, had to travel by train, from Goldenrod.

[Looks up at the glittering sky with her.]

I believe it's worth the trip... To know stars still glitter in the sky like this gives me relief. And your friend? You meeting to gaze at the sight as well?

Boat, from New Bark. I've walked from there.

[Yes, it's been a long walk, but a relatively peaceful one, aside from the odd monster accosting her from the tall grass.]

I know the feeling. It was only recently that the night sky was returned to the world I came from, afore that it was a hundred years of unceasing light.

[Part of the reason she doesn't mind traveling at night.]

He's been here for some time. It's something of a practical concern--traveling with someone who knows the road better than I.

[Loki was curious enough to travel long distance in this world. It gave him time to observe what to do here as well as see why everything was dictated the way it was. So seeing places like this to hide away gave him advantage.

He couldn't help but gaze a little softer a that. He very well knew that feeling of missing Asgard's night sky. Turns his head to try to hide his tender expression.]

Well, it's not so bad getting lost, I find that it usually helps me learn the area a bit more than before.

But I certainly wouldn't like getting frustrated, especially on your own.

[She gives a little half smile at that.]

No, it isn't so bad.

[But she's had a lot of time to think about what she wished she could have said, and she's eager to do so. To apologize, for what little it's worth.]

At least the monsters here can be tamed. And don't eat people.

[That she's aware of.]

[Gives a little chuckle at that.]

I'm quite relieved at that as well.

Plus, you can train them to your liking. These pokemon are quite intelligent creatures, I'm impressed.

[He held up one of his pokeballs and let Zorua out who immediately gave a playful giggle as it snuggled into Loki's side.]

Easy to make friends with too.

[There Loki let himself smile and pet Zorua.]

[She can sense the Dark alignment of the other little creature - it doesn't give her cause for concern, her own shares the same affinity, and...well, there's a reason she can sense it. She smiles at the little creature--it looks very fond of its person.]

Does your friend have a name?

I've given the name Mari, it means rebellious.

[He scritches underneath Zorua's chin who trilled in delight. Glances with a bit of a smirk.]

They are a bit playful you see, so it seems fitting.

A good name. Easy to recall.

[She looks down at her Absol, who doesn't yet have one of his own. She doesn't know what name to give. So far it's just the two of them, and it's not as if he has much to say about it.]

Oh yes, quite so...

[Noticing that she was looking at her own, he seemed to caught on a little.]

Have you thought about yours?

[She shakes her head.]

Thought about, but no real ideas. I've never lead the sort of life that is conducive to pets.

[Loki's brows raised a little, it's a little surprising, but he supposed there are those who can't have frivolous time with pets. Adjusting himself letting Zorua lay in his lap, Loki took a good look at her Absol.]

Well, let's start then...

What kind of personality do you notice they have?

[Her life has been strange and long.]

Hm...calm, serious. Pragmatic.

[She's reminded of Nyelbert. But she might feel like she can share his story, but naming anything for him seems like an overstep.]

A good start, so what names do you think fits the calm yet serious mold?

Could be anything, a reminder of a story you read, or perhaps something you always were fond of.

[She gives a sardonic little smile.]

Well I certainly don't remember any stories from my childhood.

[She thinks about it for a little while.]

...Unukalhai likely would not mind having a namesake.

[Loki did feel a bit sympathy from that, he always found stories to be interesting. Especially if you're able to make up ones on the fly, make it really believable. But none the less.. He gave a smile and gestured to her Absol.]

Ah... So?

Shall that be the name? Unukalhai?

[She looks down at her companion again, who chirrs softly--if she had to guess it would be approval? He doesn't seem too mad about it at least. And it's much less awkward than not calling him by anything at all, even if their travels together so far have been quiet.]

For a friend, aye.

Their temperament is similar enough. Not to mention the hair color.

Oh yes, it's a lovely choice I see.

[At which his Zorua stretched, sat up and hopped off his lap. Coming over to sniff the Absol curiously. Giving a confident little skip in their step with a giggle.]

Ah, mine however, is quite playful...

Mari now... Lets not be too bothersome, he might not want to play.

[For a moment, it looks like he might not. But then he gets to all fours and stretches into a play bow. Cylva smiles.]

It's just been the two of us so far, seems like he's welcoming the change.

[She bends at the waist in a bow herself.]

[Gives a small smile and waves his arm in a half bow as well back.]

[Loki looked down after, watching his Zorua roll around, chattering happily. Hoping around Absol trying to get him to chase her.]

Honestly, this is quite nice for them to play.

Mari and I hadn't a chance outside training like this. Someone other than me to play with is good for her I think.

[Honestly, the hissed shushing is what caught Gobo's attention and had him glancing over at the nearby table, not Loki's musings. But Gobo's always been a little more sensitive to higher noises than other sounds. Maybe it comes from having Wembley as a roommate. Who knows?

He does see Loki shush back, which amuses him a bit-- and then the cover ad title of the book catch his eye. He steps away from the bookshelf he'd been browsing and approaches the man, trying to keep his voice soft. Still, he sounds clearly excited in what he says.]

The Ruins of Alph, eh? I spent a while there when I was in Johto, and they're really amazing.

[Ah, this interruption is at least relevant to his current interests. Loki glanced up the pink haired fellow by the bookshelf. Gives a smile as he got a bit closer to hear him better since they're in a oh so quiet the library.]
