[Lupa certainly isn't the first person Radley has seen trying to contact people from home. He sighs in sympathy.]

Hi there. This is a place where a lot of us are being brought to live and explore. Some of us go home sooner or later, but for now we're stuck here. Some of the ones you know might be here too, or they might show up later.

[He chuckles at the Houndour.]

The Pokemon sure make it easier to bear.

I had little expectation, as we are all dead, but then, I'm here...

[Lupa shrugs with one shoulder. He's a little sad and lonely, but not surprised at all. The Embryon are busy saving the Earth and humanity, but the rest of them are merely waiting. It would have been such a fortunate surprise if one of his men had come here with him.

The Houndour redubles her efforts to lick him into happiness.]

Yes. I'm enjoying the companionship. But I wonder if she's Cerberus, brought here like me, or decided that Cerberus was her name anyway.

[One of Lupa's first discoveries after realizing the Hunger was gone was a puppy that promptly tried to chew on him and can spit fire. He doesn't know how this place works; it could be possible.]

[crystalmaster]

[Now this does surprise him.]

You're dead in your world?!

[He ponders this new intriguing question.]

So you had a dog or other pet back home named Cerberus, and this one acts similarly?

[He smiles a bit.]

That's an interesting thought that maybe she's been reborn as a Pokemon. I hadn't heard that idea before, but it's comforting. Everyone here gets a Pokemon to start their journey with, but who's to say it couldn't be an old friend?

[papacerberus]

[Lupa nods seriously.]

Yes, and any that may have survived my death were killed with the destruction of the Junkyard. It was not unexpected, and in some ways a relief, but now I am here.

[Then he shakes his head.]

Cerberus was a demon. My... avatar. We were cursed with Atma, and Branded, causing our transformation into demons. My Brand remains, but I can no longer feel Cerberus within me.

[He shifts the camera, showing a design blazened in blackest black across his stomach. Brand is accurate, seems like, since the black looks almost cracked and blistered, rather than just a color in the skin like a tattoo would be.]

When this Cerberus came out of the ball I was given, I had a moment of wonder. She appeared like she was attacking my boot. I know now that she will chew on anything she can get to hold still long enough, and it does not appear to be related to any kind of Hunger. Still, Cerberus is all she will answer to when I direct speech at her and she shares an affinity with fire. I cannot say if she is the same Cerberus or just a creature here that has taken that as a name because I don't know how this place functions. Do you know anyone or thing that may have an answer to the question in one way or another?

[In other words: is he going to have to worry about the cute puppy trying to eat people? Please advise.]

... Ah. I see.

[Radley has no idea what the Junkyard is, but doesn't ask. Then he's stunned by the next information.]

Being forcibly branded and turned into a demon sounds horrible.

[To say the least. He cringes at the sight of the brand. That definitely looks like it was painful.]

... Well, that's definitely curious about the name. It's an odd coincidence, if nothing else. I know that kind of Pokemon is a Fire type. I have no idea if she could be your ... avatar reborn as a Pokemon, and I'm not sure how you'd find out. But ... from what I do understand, everyone's powers get suppressed here, so even if she is the Cerberus you know, I don't think she'll be able to do any ... demon things.... Although I've heard there's some event coming up where everyone gets their powers back for a weekend, so I don't know how that might go over for you guys....

Suppression might be the simpler option...

[That makes Lupa jerk into a fully alert, almost fearful tension.]

How long? How many hours?

[Can he last that long? How powerful will the Hunger be when it returns? If Cerberus is his avatar, will she be rejoined with him, or merely be inflicted with the Hunger? There are so many questions and variables.]

[crystalmaster]

[Radley feels badly for him. Dropped in a new world with this kind of bombshell....]

I think it's for three twenty-four hour days. It's late May, I was told, so it might be this weekend....

[papacerberus]

[Lupa is nervous, but breathes slow and carefully.]

I can probably resist the Hunger that long. I will have to spend time preparing; I know there is meat here, and that may help.

[Lupa shudders when he mentions meat though. His stomach turns at the thought.]

[crystalmaster]

[Radley is leery of the world's meat, not knowing what it's made of, but he opts not to go into that discussion. The most important thing right now is staving off the likely return of this Hunger. He can imagine what that is.]

Is there anything I can do to help?

[papacerberus]

I...

[Lupa breathes in and out slowly.]

I don't know. The only thing besides... devouring, that could hold the Hunger at bay were Sera's powers.

[crystalmaster]

... That's not good. I did hear that visitors pop up from other worlds during this event, so maybe there's a chance Sera will come? It might just be a slim chance, though.... You probably can't rely too much on that....

[papacerberus]

Sera has important things to finish as well. I would not want to interfere with that.

[crystalmaster]

If she shows up, though, that'd kinda interfere with what she's doing back home as it is, so you might as well take advantage of her help if she comes.

[papacerberus]

That is true, but I will hope that she does not.

[Lupa is quiet for a long moment.]

Others' abilities will also return. Do you know who here has powerful affinity for Ice? It is the one magic that I could not truly resist as a demon.

[crystalmaster]

I'm afraid I don't. I know about some Ice Pokemon, though.... There's Glaceon and Piplup and Delibird and the Alolan Vulpix and Ninetales. Make sure it's the Alolan ones if you try to find them. The other ones are Fire type. I think there's a couple of ice caves here, but I don't know if you could get to them in time.

[papacerberus]

Perhaps not, but I can ask if others have those companions, and if they will help kill me if the worst happens.

[crystalmaster]

I'm pretty sure some do. I'd like a Glaceon myself, but I don't have one yet....

[He winces.]

Well, uh ... there's another problem. I hear people don't die here, even if they're in a situation where normally they would.

[On the one hand, that could be good news. But on the other ... even if people didn't die, they would still be traumatized if attacked.]

[papacerberus]

[Lupa considers that for a few moments.]

What happens when someone is wounded to the point of death? Is there anyone that would know?

[crystalmaster]

I'm not sure how we know people don't die at all. Someone must have died and didn't sometime in the past, but I don't know who it would have been. There's a few people who've been here quite a few years. They might know something.

[papacerberus]

[Lupa nods]

And everyone who has been brought here is able to receive and respond to this communication device, correct? I can ask openly in that case.

[crystalmaster]

Yeah, that's probably the best way to reach out. Everyone who's currently here should see it.

[papacerberus]

Then I will ask.

[It looks like he might be starting to say something else beginning with r, but changes it to arrival.]

Hmm. Well, a lot of the areas between towns are isolated, but some more than others. After Violet City, there's different roads you can take. The Southern path goes through a cave and then to another town. There's a huge forest on the other side of that town. The Northern path goes down a short road and gets you to a town much quicker. Sometimes there's a fake tree Pokemon blocking that road, but that hasn't happened much lately.
