If it seems like the guy at the beach--pants rolled up, feet dipped in the water--is talking to himself, don't worry, he's not. But it isn't immediately apparent that he's got a Pokemon on him. At least, not until he's sharing his bento. Then Klefki makes their appearance, happy to munch on some rice.
Mobius points out toward the water when someone on a jetski goes by. "Like that one there! That's the kind of life I want. I'll have to earn more money to rent one, though..." He laughs. "Like a normal person living in normal spacetime. Wild."
Klefki makes some quiet, contented sounds, but starts up and shakes its keys at approach. Mobius pats the little thing, which then decides to bury itself in a pocket. He gives a little wave. "Hey. Don't mind the sentient floating keys; they're a little shy."
Sprout Tower
It's a fascinating place with an interesting history, if he could only pry the real history and the fantastical 'it was definitely a giant Bellsprout!' story apart. Seems some of the monks would prefer a battle before saying more, which is fine, if a little oddly violent, he thinks. "Can we just settle our differences with a game, maybe?" Apparently not. Well, he's not the one in the fight, and so long as his buddies are up for it...
It's the Pokemon that are even more interesting, however. That they're allowed to live here at all, that there's a penchant for ghosts in spite of--because of?--the history here. (And not a single oversized Bellsprout, of course.) He seems quiet and cautious when not in a battle. Watch out, though...for the absolutely massive form...of a ghostly anchor, looming menacingly, right behind him...!
Ruins of Alph
You best believe he's enjoying the hell out of this place. The mystery! The history! Puzzles! And--weird shit? Klefki, already an anxious sort, clatters in alarm at what seems to be nothing practically every few minutes. Dhelmise makes itself scarce, and not even in the 'loom menacingly behind him' way. And he's pretty sure they're being watched. Given wild Pokemon...that shouldn't be unsettling. And yet.
"Come on out, if you're there," he says calmly toward an overgrowth of vines. "Promise I won't bite. Won't even fight you if you don't want."
Nothing happens. But he's...relatively sure something's just hiding. Has to be it.
He pats Nosepass on the noggin. "Could be shy. Let's not stare and be rude about it. C'mon, we'll take some etchings from that ruin over there."

"It's okay. We're among friends." Maybe...maybe just poke out enough to see. That's enough for Klefki at the moment!
"Yeah, it's pretty weird, even for me. But I'm not gonna judge. This one seems pretty anxious. But handy enough in a fight. What about your sentient tent?"
no subject
"Snjókorn here is also rather anxious, but she's getting better. Go on, say hello." She doesn't move from the lap, but she does wave a stubby little arm and chitter out a friendly hello. Loki gives her a comforting pat as a reward.
"I don't believe we've met. I am Loki, of Asgard."
no subject
And then the realization hits. Ah. It's a Loki, sure, but it's not his Loki. There's probably an expression that flits across his face--hurt, disappointment?--before it's gone again. "Mobius. I know you, Loki of Asgard. Or, I know variants of you." Not enigmatic at all. "You from here, or did you wake up in some lady's house, too?"
no subject
"I woke here same as most did. What do you mean, you know 'variants' of me?"
no subject
no subject
"Prove it. Tell me something about myself that no one else could know."
no subject
So he takes a breath and tried to pluck one out, staring out into the waves lapping at shore.
"You weren't yourself when you tried for New York." Start with that. Big blow. Discourage further prodding. "You won't admit it; you'll swear until your dying day that it was all you. But the Stone got to you, too. Paired with some strong encouragement from the Order."
He glances over. "If that even happened for you. Could be you're a completely different variant who never experienced that."

Snjokorn looks up at him with concern, sensing her trainer's sudden tenseness. This new human said something that upset her trainer, and that's not okay!
"You don't kno- Snojkorn!" Hopping off his lap, the Snorunt toddles over to Mobius and headbutts him in the arm. It isn't actually hard, seeing as she doesn't actually know the move "Headbutt", but her angry chittering makes it clear she is NOT pleased with whatever just transpired!
Cherrygrove City
That was a Pokemon?
[He is surprised.
Evie the Eevee runs over and goes on two legs, chirping to try to get Klefki to come out and say Hi!]

[Klefki shivers, clattering its keys together (yes, sure, somehow the floating keys have a gender, but like--does that make sense? no it does not), muffled from the fabric, but eventually comes out on its own. Very much still keeping part of itself touching Mobius at all times, but it looks at Evie and...gives a tiny little wave?
Mobius at least gives the little dog-fox-thing a pat on the head.]
At least this one looks more like an actual animal I'd expect.
no subject
Some of them are really mind-blowing, yeah.
[He smiles at the cuteness of the wave and Evie beams, both at that and the petting.]
Most of them look like animals instead of objects, I think. Hi, I'm Radley.

I get furious being moved around like that. But if you have to get shanghaied, this is way nicer to end up than many other places.
