[First it was Atsumu freakin Miya of all people showing up a month ago and then disappearing while leaving his Thievul to take care of, now Tooru sees yet another person from home. And that just so happens to be none other than the crow brat... With his own crow it seems.

Yeah, Tooru doesn't fall for the intimidating rumble from the corvid, not when he has his own much stronger and much larger corvid of his own. Though his Corviknight isn't out of his ball at the moment, but unfortunately Kuroo, his Liepard and King of Cat Crimes is. Kuroo also doesn't care about the rumbling bird as he and Tooru approach, both with semi sour looks. But maybe Tooru will behave as his expression softens. Tobio isn't the insufferable brat that Atsumu is.]

What a nice surprise, seeing you here Tobio-chan~ cute bird too.

[Tobio-chan... Only one person calls him that, and it has Tobio look right at the person with the most annoyed expression. What was Oikawa doing here?! It was annoying enough to be stuck in a weird world that he's still convinced is just some very detailed and long dream, but now this.

His Murkrow seems to pick up his trainers mood as he snaps his beak at the newcomers.]

Oikawa. [What are they supposed to talk about that isn't about volleyball... The giant cat catches his attention and gives him something to focus on.] You're a cat person?

[Needlessly smug, but it's habit when it comes to the younger boy, though the aggressive tone is lacking. The snapping beak from the bird is ignored, Tooru's dealt with a far more dangerous bird already at this point, having been attacked by a gigantic pissed off Braviary. Murkrow is nothing now.

Though Kuroo is eyeing the bird up and down, waiting for it to make a move.]

When'd you show up, haven't seen any crows except Yachi-chan a few months ago but she's already disappeared.

[Weren't cats picky about the people they interacted with? Oikawa doesn't feel like that kind of person.

The Murkrow, who at this rate is going to be named Hinata for how much it wants to fight everyone, is keeping all of his attention on Kuroo now. They're both Dark types so it would be annoying to have to fight this cat...]

She's still in Japan. She never left, so she couldn't have been here.

You'll be surprised about a lot of things here then, starting with the fact that I don't care if I lose to you anymore.

[This is half true, he still considers the younger boy a rival, but he's nowhere near as bitter and resentful anymore. He has his sights set on more things now than just volleyball. Amazing what half a year away from where he feels smothered and faced with a wall of people better than him can do.

Unlike the bird, Kuroo still is behaving and sitting there, well trained to listen to his trainer. Not to mention he knows a fairy move to flatten the bird.]

She was, I talked to her myself. And guess what? That annoying fake blond Miya brat, Atsumu, was too.

[Oikawa? Not caring? This has to be the weirdest long dream ever. That or there was something in the water. There's a definite chill that goes down his spine at that.

No one ever said birds were smart. Or that Kageyama was, either. In the long run, he's an idiot like the rest of the Karasuno bunch. So an idiot bird who would fight this cat sounds about right for him.]

I saw her before I came here. Miya-san, too.

[That earns Kageyama a snort and shrug. Tooru's amused at the denseness, even if it's annoying that Kageyama really wasn't that smart outside of the court. Irritating, yet amusing, instead of outright infuriating.

But what does annoy him as his attention goes 100% to the boy is not being believed.]

I'm telling you, Yachi-chan and Tsumu-brat both were here for a while. Iwa-chan showed up two weeks after I did, but he saw me the night before he showed up too. Weird things happen here, and that's an understatement.

[If he was capable of witty comebacks, then yes, Tobio would do just that. Instead, the comment just rubs him the wrong way, so it was better to just let it go. The more he gets irritated, the more the bird on his arm would act... and he doesn't think anyone deserves to get harassed by this over possessive thing on his shoulder.

Very weird things. Somehow he feels this isn't a lie, but it makes him far from happy. It's already been longer than a usual dream would last. Might be about time to actually accept he's stuck in a different world. Even if it's annoying.]

[At the remark, Tooru can't help himself and just starts laughing. Really laughing for a minute. It's real and not even close to mocking like he'd done the last time they were face to face, either, but a real and genuine laugh. Even if it is at Kageyama. It takes him another minute to re-compose himself and look the younger boy directly in the eyes with a smirk.]

You could say that, I guess. Iwa-chan is here too, of course. Can't split us up even in another world. Too bad chibi-chan isn't here with you or did you run off and let the poor kid fend for himself?

[That laughter makes Tobio take a step back. It's so genuine coming from Oikawa that he's not sure at all what's going on. Shouldn't Oikawa be getting upset at a comment like that? Be snide?

This place has surely messed with his former senpai a lot... And it is rather unfair that he's the only crow here.]

Knowing that idiot, he'll be here before you know it.

[Hinata was practically a stalker. Was stalker too rough of a term?]

[Were he fresh and new in this world, he'd be far more snide and rude, but being without anyone to pressure him? What a world of difference it made. But he DOES snort at the off-put reaction from the younge boy, clearly amused by the reaction.

As well as shrugs, rolling his eyes at the comment. He didn't really mind Hinata all that much, even if the ginger was a hyper kid.]

I wouldn't mind seeing him around. Better him than Ushiwaka at least.

Anyway, if you plan to take on the gyms around here, you're gonna need more than just that bird. The people here are strong and don't go easy on anyone.

[Not minding Hinata and being on Hinata's team are two very different levels of having to deal with the ginger. Still, Oikawa is right. Better than Ushikawa.

Now as for gyms? Kageyama shrugs at that.]

What's so great about gym challenges?

[They're not volleyball and watching a Pokemon fight just gets boring. He wants to be active, too!!]

For starters, gym challenges grant you certain perks if you have the badges from them. Like being able to fly on Pokémon large enough to fly on, or ride on Pokémon big enough to ferry people on water, for example. I have four badges already, and have twelve left to get. Think of it like...

[There's a pause before he continues, reminding himself he's not dealing with Iwaizumi, who doesn't need volleyball comparisons nearly as much as people like the boy in front of him.]

Ah, think of it like the road to nationals. The more you win, the tougher your opponents get and then you'll be at the finals battling the reigning champion.

[Lack of bitterness and malice at mentioning Nationals is something that throws Tooru off for a second despite him having been the one to mention it, but his goals have shifted enough to allow him to somewhat let go of that failure back home. Besides, his goals back home were always destined for an even grander stage.]
