[ A sigh. ] I both am, and am not. There are people here who I am not... pleased are here. [ She is being so cautious in talking! ] And I do not even seem to have a fragment of Hydaelyns' blessing.

Ah. Yes, I understand that well enough. [He pauses, and-] It's not- one of our… masked 'friends', I hope. [He hesitates, worried, brows furrowing.] Perhaps- because we are on another star…?

[prayreturn]

[ There's a bitter look on her face. ] I have heard they are here, but-- no.
...Perhaps. It seems to be universal - none retain any abilities they may have had. And non-Hyur are made such.

[wordsinthesoul]

[He reaches out to wrap her up in a hug, holding her close.] Perhaps they've already gone…? [But then again- perhaps they're hiding. He'd best keep a lookout, he expects.

He can't help a little snort at the idea.]

Y'shtola would love that, no doubt. Or- is she here? Or- no, rather than guessing- who else has come here from our star?

[ Right. Names. She would explain more of them if he asked, but: From those we may both know, there are a few. ] Aymeric, G'raha and Estinien. Each of them from my future - likely knowing of my sacrifice. [ ...but not knowing her. ] There is also a Warrior of Light. They are not the one I knew, yet carry that same kindness. Their name is G'rhyf.

But-- there is also the one I fear. Emperor Solus.

[ ........She has no idea, does she? ]

The Lord Commander, the Azure Dragoon, and one of ours… I would think so. [Though he's less sure Aymeric and Estinien would remember it as well as the others. He blinks in surprise, eyebrows rising.] I'm not familiar with that name- but if they're as compassionate as our friend back home, I'm sure there's nothing to worry about.

[She'll definitely feel him stiffen at that name, holding her a little more tightly. If she refers to him that way… most likely she doesn't know. Should he tell her? If they've all lost their powers, presumably the Ascian has, too- but Thancred wouldn't say he's harmless even so.]

Has he done anything to you?

They are. They were the first to come meet me, to reassure me. [ And told her of the future. But she's glad it was them, and not, well. ] I hope that I can show them who I am without being the leader of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.

[ She mentioned Ascians, and yet did not mention him then. She clearly does not know. But her ignorance does not mean she does not have fire in her eyes, a tremble in her body.

She is looking utterly serious. ] While he's done little, I cannot help but suspect he'll be doing more. And he seems so very smug about everything.

[ A beat. ]

...I would be, too, if I were returned to the prime of my life.

Good. I'm glad to hear that they supported you. [He nods.] I suppose- if anything, this place is one where you can set aside those worries.

[…even if it does lend an entire set of new ones.]

Yes, he is rather sprightly for someone who should be dead, isn't it? [He can't help the sarcastic tone- Emet-Selch might have helped the Warrior, but it won't keep Thancred from being suspicious of him.] Keep your eyes on him, Minfilia.

A land where beast and man work together - even if their culture is strange. It's been... a challenge to adjust.

[ But her focus is on her hatred of Solus now. Her voice wavering ever-so slightly. ]

I have been. I... he is respected on this star, because he has conquered the challenges which they give us trainers. [ There's a pause. A slight gulp. She hasn't admitted this to anybody else, but - Thancred understands. She hopes he does. ] I hate it, Thancred. I want to show everybody what he's done, but I need to be stronger to do such.

Not one that's insurmountable, though. Especially not for you, I should think.

[He pulls her a little closer, holding gently, and the Rockruff puts its paws on her leg, trying to cheer her up.]

I understand. Then- you need to manage the challenges you receive, but more impressively. What sorts of challenges are we speaking of?

[ Doggo helps calm the angery. And her focusing on giving instructions... ]

While the handbook gives basic instructions, it's... almost too simple. Those of this land respect those trainers who conquer the sixteen gyms across two nations, working alongside their Pokemon, and challenge the ones known as the Elite Four and the Champion.

It is a land of combat, but it is quite different. Everything is built around the safety of both Pokemon and Man.

[He gives a little tail wag and lick! :> he's helping.]

I see… How do they choose who staff those Gyms, is people consistently come to challenge them?

No weapons, and with these- Pokemon?- instead… [He looks at the Rockruff rather dubiously, and reaches out to pat it.] …It's not at all what I'm used to. If it keeps people safe, then… I suppose there's no complaint to be had.

They are natives to this star. Masters, it seems, of one of the elemental types. The ones I have battled have been masters of the Flying-type and the Bug-type. [ she does not know how this slots into the elemental cycle. it is a headache. ]

It is quite strange, I must admit. I still have so many questions. But, Thancred. [ Suddenly, she looks so serious. ] They seem to work together in perfect harmony. Even if most cannot speak their tongue.

People who've lived here all their lives, then…? …Are those truly types? [He might not be the expert Urianger is, nor Papalymo, but he likes to think he knows a bit.]

Hopefully there's someone who can answer them. But- [He breaks into a soft smile, squeezing her gently for a moment.] That's a good thing, then. What we've hoped for.

It is. I do not know if Eorzea has grown so kind... [ She hopes it has. Even if she'll never see it. ]

But they truly are types! There are eighteen of them - even if some of them seem to be more descriptive then types. --oh! If we use the machines that we got when we first arrived, they have information on the various Pokemon we meet. [ She means the PokeGear. ]

We've made steps towards that- towards proper meetings, with the city-states' leaders and theirs. …For those who've been tempered, too.

[He wishes she could, and reaches for her hand to reassure her.]

That device? Ah, I knew it must be there for one reason or another… One moment. [He reaches into his bag to grab it, holding it out.] So, then- is it this one?

[…no, that's the status of his Rockruff.]

[ They truly-- Minfilias' eyes widen, and her expression softens. Before that tinge of jealousy enters her eyes for a moment. ] I suppose it was somebody else who started such.

[ As Minfilia brought up her own information to guide Thancred, he'd see that she has two Meowstic... called Alisaie and Alphinaud. ] I believe, actually, it's another button. But I can assume that since it's called Rockruff, it would be part-Rock type. That is another thing about this star - each Pokemon has an oddly fitting name.

[He reaches out to squeeze her shoulder- he does wish she could have been part of it.] Alisaie was the main force behind it- after out trip to the First.

[He can't help but give that a fond look.] Keeping them close to your heart? What sort of Pokemon are they? [But oh, that's important.] It would make it easier to remember those details. Though it's not the case for all of them, is it?

[ The First... she'd heard about it, that was for sure. That other world. But she didn't know much. Thancred would see a flicker of... something in her eyes. (She did not know how her life ended. Not yet.)

But she can focus on Pokemon. ] Ah... a new friend of mine said it was okay. They're-- Meowstic, aligned with the psychic type. While they look the same as their previous form, Espurr, they're dimorphic as they grow and evolve.

[ In fact, one of them runs up now. The male one, in... specially tailored clothes. Looking adorable. ] It's not the case for all of them, no. While Meowstic also have a hint towards their type - being made of the compound words Meow and Mystic - there are others which do not seem like... puns.

[ She's happy explaining! She is no longer so angy. ] For example, I have a Pachirisu. I... cannot find the pun nor typing of them in their name.

[He squeezes her hands gently, watching her face.]

Meowstic- so they're felines, then? [A soft chuckle.] That does seems as though it would suit them.

[And those clothes certainly suit him, too! Thancred grins, eyes brightening.] That's a very dashing look- perfect. [He turns towards Minfilia, thinking.] Mystic… then they have their own manner of magic?

[It's a good change!] Pachirisu…? Well- it's rather pleasant to say, but beyond that… What type is that?

[ She looked so gentle, but Thancred would know she was masking so very much. Even after having let so much go... ]

They do. They have the ability to harness many elements, as well! Don't you, Alphinaud? [ The Meowstic let out a pleased sound - and quite suddenly, let out a small burst of telepathy, a happy sound in their heads. As for Pachirisu... ]

They're Lightning elemental -- except in this star, they call it the Electric-type. And they use similar power to control their technology.

[She's probably learned as much or more from F'lhaminn as him- though he knows. He squeezes her hands again, gentle- though he makes a startled sounds at the telepathy.]

What- that's you!? That's- how do they do that?

Lightning- no, electric? So- can those creatures help with the power, then? That seems quite helpful.
