Haru | Beastars

New Bark Town
[So, the existential crisis of waking up in a new place and entirely new body is fully out of the way. Well, not fully out the way, but Haru has some experience with existential dread and she's been able to live her life to the fullest regardless so...

What's another handful of centimeters to her height, loss of fur and tail and shrunken ears going to do? This body seems way stronger than her normal one.

The music though, that will take some time.

She's not about to stand idle, though, so regardless of whether the person she approaches is just as new and unfamiliar as her or is a veteran making a stop back to where their adventure began, a short 20-year-old woman with platinum-white hair in twintails sidles up to you casually, pink PokéGear out and at the ready, opened on the map. A white flower is tucked behind her ear, and on closer look there's a Flabébé clinging to it, also peering over curiously as her trainer holds on her Gear]

Sorry, I'm used to Zoozle maps. Any idea of how to get this thing to give me directions to the next town over?

[You're probably going to have to crane your neck down. She's human, but just barely hits 140cm.]


Violet City
[Haru's a girl on the move, and she's warped her way over to Violet City after a grueling few days of travel. She may be used to being out in the elements, tending to all sorts of plants, but she's a born and raised city girl, and between the difference in human physiology versus a rabbit's, her feet ache and she can use a rest.

But not before she heads over to have a look at Sprout Tower, arms akimbo and craning her neck up to look at the top. She's swaying back and fourth along with the tower, subconsciously.]

Wonder if a place like that could make you seasick...

Violet City

[With much of Legosi's attention focused on learning the ins and outs of being a homeowner, he doesn't always immediately catch wind of the newcomers in New Bark these days. It's not for lack of care, it's just that he's finding himself busier than usual as of late...but even with the way the towns can feel impossibly far apart sometimes, word of certain things eventually gets around. Like of a young woman with white hair, of all things, claiming to have been a rabbit prior to her arrival.

If only Legosi could have asked if they'd gotten her Gear number, but it seems each time they'd parted ways before any sort of exchange could be made. And so, it's up to Legosi to see things for himself. Luckily, having visited every town in Johto means that he's able to warp from one city to the next so long as he takes breaks inbetween, and Azalea isn't all that far to begin with.

He arrives feeling a bit...nervous, knowing that he could just be overreacting and assuming someone random is Haru when she isn't. It's also why he has his Pokemon in their balls currently, because if it IS her he doesn't want to overwhelm her right away. Seeing him as he is now- a skyscraper with grey hair despite still being in his teens- would be enough for her to have to process. But knowing the layout of the map means he knows where new arrivals usually end up...

Legosi finds her just outside of Sprout Tower, and he stops some distance away. It...is a little creepy for him to just stand there, staring at the back of her head, but fortunately he realizes this before she notices him.]

Ah......excuse me?

[Human senses are much more dull compared to a rabbit's, and on the plus side it means less random bouts of anxiety and nervousness that a rabbit typically has (which, in this world is great, seeing all these strange animals come bounding to her in the wild itching for a fight would probably be constant near-trauma if she were still her rabbit-self). It comes with a negative, though, that she's a bit more unawares than usual, so...

Yeah. She doesn't notice that someone is staring at her until he announces himself. The voice sounds oddly familiar, but when she turns around (still swaying, mind you) it's a silver haired human she's never seen before. There's something about the way he holds himself, and his eyes, though, that have her staring at him a moment longer than is comfortable.

Her own eyes are just as human as the rest of hers, a dark near-black brown that make it hard to tell pupil from iris. Her Flabébé remains holding on to the flower behind her trainer's ear, and seeming nervous, tucks herself behind a stray lock of hair.]

Oh! Hi. Do you work here? [She points to the tower behind her, still looking at him as if trying to figure him out.] It's an interesting tower.

Oh...I. No, I...

[Man. This woman, she's...he doesn't want to project onto her- that would be unfair to both her and himself- but there's something about her that's so familiar. Maybe it's just the way she looks, or that Pokemon hiding in her hair...

No, he knows what it is. It's her eyes. They look just like...]

...I'm sorry. I was looking for someone.

[hopticulture]

[Her swaying slows as she focuses her attention harder on this guy. He seems to be looking her over the same way she's doing with him, and despite the intense look, it doesn't make her all that uncomfortable in the way it normally would if a stranger was staring her down.

Tucking her hands in the pockets of her skirts, her curiosity is piqued.]

A friend? [She shakes her head, taking care not to tousle her companion.] Sorry, I wish I could help. I'm new and just got to this town, so I don't really know anyone.

But if you tell me what they look like and their name, I can at least keep an eye out!

[bigsadwolf]

[Well...

Legosi exhales slowly, his shoulders slumping a bit. Maybe it wouldn't hurt, even if it feels bad because he knows the likelihood of her specifically showing up is pretty slim, considering.]

...her name is Haru. She...wouldn't look the way she's supposed to, but...

[...]

You do remind me of her.

New Bark Town

[Radley is very tall, at 6'2", so he has to bend down to see it well.]

Hi! This button over here should do it.

[He points to one.]

[She's used to it. Honestly this is the tallest she's ever been.

Pressing the button he's pointing at, that does seem to do the trick.]

Thanks! This is pretty different from the cellphone I have back home.

This place doesn't really have a lot of public transit, does it? The next largest town seems pretty far to make it in a day.

Yeah, a lot of things are pretty different. If I'm around long enough, I'm hoping to do something to change that. Right now I'm focusing on my restaurant and breeding Eevees, but I'm always planning for a possible public transit system. Things are really beautiful here, so I want to figure out something that won't harm the ecosystem.

[hopticulture]

[She's giving this guy a look as if he's speaking a foreign language, eyes wide without a lick of comprehension behind them.]

Breeding...Eevees? Aren't these animals called uh... [Tapping her finger against her temple, gears turning as she tries her best to remember everything she's just learned this past day:] Pokémon?

[crystalmaster]

Well, all the animal collectively are Pokemon, but then there's different species. This is an Eevee.

[He holds up Evie, who warbles.]

And this is an Espurr.

[Elliott gives a blank stare.]

The one clinging to my neck is a Ralts.

[Cosmo shyly peeks over his shoulder.]

Hmm, maybe. [Boober had also been checking out the tower, but now the teen looks up - yes, up - and over at Haru.] But I think stumbling and falling is the real danger.
