It's time for our winter CR meme. By now most of all should've received your Snorunt fortunes so why not use that as a jumping off point?

Please share your ideas of interactions you'd love your character to have, or plots you are rolling around in your head that might need a few more folks. Is your character looking for a friend? An enemy? A rival? You could find it all here. And remember, the more detailed, the better! We all want all the CR, but specific plans, or at least a specific direction you want to take something in, will really help out everybody involved.

Looking for: Varian definitely needs more friends, and I'm particularly interested in him getting to know other teenagers because in canon he had no friends his own age at all. So I'd love to experience more of that! I'd also like him to have CR with more battle-focused trainers, maybe sparking a bit more interest in that side of things in Varian. Also, for a longterm/midterm goal, I'd like him to open up to others about his past mistakes and bad choices.

Cliffnotes: Louie's a lazy schemer who loves the idea of wealth. Toward the end of canon (and expanded on over his time in VR) the greed kind of mellowed out? He's 14 in-game now. It's so weird. Anyway, he's traveling kind of wherever with Emporio and laying down some sort of plan for a breeding center with Rei.
Looking for: Anyone who can help Louie move towards setting some kind of goal would be great. He's done the whole trainer, gym battle thing before and enjoyed it but isn't into doing it all again. And right now, there's kind of this breeding center plan, so maybe people who can encourage Louie to go for that in a more determined, less drifting manner. Uh, they'll have their work cut out for them, though!

Boober is not remotely a fashion guy, but he has a lot of feelings about laundry and general garment care, so I think he could have interesting interactions with those who are actually into fashion.

Beyond that, he's been in Johto over a decade and has been a gym leader for a number of years now, so he's mellowed a bit. Still a big ball of issues, though, it just hides under that friendly, all-loving exterior.
Looking for: MANY THINGS but most especially people down for first being good friends and then poking/calling out his issues. Because boy does he still have issues.

Cliffnotes: Shy kid sired by a fay who has huge hangups about his appearance. And being social in general. Has been improving on this little by little during his time in Johto, and is currently living with Sandalphon and Corrin. Sandy's pretty much adopted him tbh

Cliffnotes: Somewhat asocial old mercenary who thinks immortality's a curse and who's so deadpan good luck telling when he's actually joking. He has a lot of secrets and some very old traumas/emotional wounds he still hasn't gotten over, but if you need some hired muscle he's your man. He's doing the whole getting badges thing in Johto for lack of anything better to do/it's a good way to kill time. Because he's still kind of in the mindset of he just has to stick it out here for however long and then he'll be back with his friends at home, right?
Looking for: Things!! Really more people who will pester him or refuse to leave him alone are always great. People interested in hiring an experienced mercenary for.... things, are also more than welcome. Geddoe can be tricky to deal with sometimes because he doesn't emote much, regardless of how he's feeling, but if you do get through to him he's incredibly devoted to his friends.

I would like to do more with Louie and Shrike and/or throw Varian Shrike's way, if you'd be interested! Louie talks a lot and I like how that can gel with more quiet/shy characters. Varian is more likely to overwhelm someone like that, he comes on strong and gets generally overeager, but if that kind of thing would be fun for you to explore, I certainly think I'd enjoy it!

Shrike is, for better or worse, now pretty firmly on Vierna's radar as "kid whose wellbeing I care about for some reason," between their one conversation about knife sharpening a while back and being Assigned Benefactor By Delibird? She doesn't want to spook him but if there are opportunities in the future for her to low-key check in or be helpful she'll probably take them.

Cliffnotes: Allura is a space elf lion princess from a mecha anime reboot, currently takin a break from freeing the universe from a ten-thousand-year-old evil empire and suppressing the trauma of losing her planet to catch Pokémon and just enjoy being a space-elf-teenage girl… and only *slightly* suppressing her trauma. She and her boyfriend Keith are usually traveling on the gym circuit- although right now they're wintering on Four Island, because winter on the road was not fun last year- but the cast also has a house on Four Island in Sevii that they visit decently frequently.
Looking for: Always looking for new friends for Allura, especially peers (girl needs more people her age to hang out and relax with). She’s very intelligent and interested in learning about VR!Earth’s and otherworlders’ cultures, but also a skilled warrior and wouldn’t mind a sparring partner. In VR she’s interested in field journals, shell collections, and makeovers including manicures, but you can never have too many hobbies. She’s spoken for, so no shipping please. Not interested in negative CR for negative CR’s sake, but a bit of friction might be okay.
Recent post: The Pony Attack on Voltron House recently hosted a Christmas/Grogory Day party for their current CR. I also plan on putting up a network post set in the Sevii Islands, detailing Allura's Snorunt fortune. Possibly guest starring a bad-tempered Pansear. Other than that, Allura will be spending most of the winter in the islands, training until Johto and Kanto start to thaw and she and Keith can start the badge circuit again, but she'll be willing to travel for things, and she certainly wouldn't mind visitors.

Thanks to some very good Snorunt luck, their band is getting recognition a lot sooner than they (or me) originally anticipated. They probably didn't intend to play too much through January, but they're not about to pass up an opportunity to establish themselves so Chicken Choice Judy will be playing regular shows throughout the month. Thanks to slightly less fortuitous Snorunt luck they're also picking up a private show that turns out to be a children's party. No, you can't come. But yes... there are suddenly going to be a lot of pictures of them in Torchic outfits online. They don't really understand what 'going viral' means, but that's okay because they're somehow learning twice in the space of a month.

Looking for: The Snorunts have given me some very specific needs for the month! Coming to the Poké World from the 80s, Min...... doesn't really get a lot of the modern way of things. I already have a few characters who've been offered to get them started on the socials, but if your character is techy pls help. He is an internet grandpa whose head hurts. He doesn't understand why he can't write to whatever google is called here to get them to remove unwanted images. :(

I imagine they'll also be looking for venues, etc... that are further afield once the weather improves enough to allow for travelling!

Cliffnotes: Vinegar Doppio is a somewhat nice, somewhat meek and somewhat dim young man who happens to be in Team Rocket. He was also the right-hand man of a powerful mafia boss back in Italy. Oh, and he shares a body with that very same powerful mafia boss, whose name is Diavolo. It's sort of an anime DID thing but also literally two souls in one body. You know how it goes.

Thanks to his professional experience, Doppio seeks to climb Team Rocket's ranks, but he puts up an upstanding front as a traveling trainer. In addition, he's a member of the Legendary Seekers (though he's actually just spying for Team Rocket shhhh). His happenstance success in the organization has led to him being assigned a very annoying intern for this month, but Diavolo has begun to wonder if they could leverage this prestigious position to surpass even Team Rocket...

Looking for: All kinds of CR!! Positive or negative, I want it all - Doppio being his own travelling group means he's a bit isolated from time to time. If I had to be specific... Doppio has a hard time opening up to people thanks to his whole... Deal, but I'm always hoping for him to make unlikely friends. CR with other villains would be great too. c:

Cliffnotes: Drow priestess who is slowly coming to terms with the idea that maybe being out of the cult hotbox she grew up in is a good thing and actually her capacity to care about other people isn't a massive weakness. Still pretty defensive of the whole "worships a chaotic evil spider goddess" thing, though, because if there's one thing Vierna's good at it's stubbornness. She's been here since March and has yet to challenge any gyms, largely because it turns out that not being in competitive mode 24/7 is nice actually. Currently living in Goldenrod with her girlfriend, Cordy.
Looking for: More friends is always a good thing, although Vierna has a lot of sharp edges and also her native language has no non-sarcastic word for friend so she's a little hard to get close to. Assertive girls and more laid-back dudes generally get the best reactions from her, because her home culture is an extremely repressive matriarchy and while Vierna's not here to be an actively obnoxious misandrist she hasn't really unpacked all that garbage yet.

Also sometimes she pops up to ask extremely dumb questions because she grew up in a: a cult and b: a very deep cave, so both normal social interaction and The Surface can be confusing.

Cliffnotes: Radley is friendly and loves to make friends, but he will snark if he doesn't like you or something you're doing. (If he does like you, however, he will likely be much more careful in how he reacts.) His beloved Evie loves making friends even more and will run up to anyone to say Hi, so even if Radley himself hasn't yet greeted you, she is sure to. He runs a very Pokemon-friendly restaurant in Goldenrod and is always looking for help there or help grooming all the Pokemon. He also breeds Eevees.
Looking for: Radley would really like positive CR with everyone from any version of his world, including those he hasn't had much or any contact with. He would also like to repair some of the negative CR and misunderstandings with various people if anyone is willing. He pretty much prefers to just stay in Goldenrod unless he's out delivering eggs or can use the Warp Pads to get to anyone in trouble, so he's very available and accessible to anyone living in Goldenrod and would be happy to know more people there. He likes helping people and being able to feel like he's made a positive difference. He always feels like a failure deep down because he believes he was unable to protect his town back home. He's a good businessman and enjoys thinking of new ways to make money, so if anyone has ideas they'd like to run past him, he'd be happy to listen and make suggestions.

Cliffnotes: First of all, if you want Val CR, PLEASE take a look at her permissions/opt out. I'm toning down a lot of stuff because this is VR, but this bitch has committed all sorts of atrocities and is in general an inhuman murderous cannibalistic monster of a person.

Anyway, Val is a vampire priestess who, in her own world, was a member of the murderous militant vampire cult known as the Sabbat. I'll link the wiki article here, but it's pretty meaty, so if you wanna put something on that you can just listen to in the background, there's also a fairly informative podcast episode with the basics of the lore here. TLDR she's more a 30 Days of Night vampire and not so much an Anne Rice/YA paranormal romance vampire, thank you very much. The World of Darkness, for the unitiated, is basically a 3edgy5me urban fantasy setting for all your TTRPG needs, where the setting is basically OUR WORLD, BUT SECRETLY WITH VAMPIRES and werewolves/mages/fairies/ghosty goos/mummies/what have you.

As someone who willingly abandoned her humanity and embraced her inner monster, she's not doing great! At being humanized! So now she's currently focusing more on her Pokemon, because she is really having a hard time relating to other people here. She's currently living in Saffron City in a dingy warehouse that's falling apart at the seams. It has a shower (if you consider an emergency wash station a shower), but it doesn't have a stove and also there's a strong chance she's squatting here and not actually renting.

Looking for:
-Friends! She's going to have an easier time opening up to people who weren't human prior to coming here.
-Negative CR! This is going to be super easy, as Val is not exactly a great person.
-More people who can get exactly the wrong impression about the World of Darkness, the "real world", vampires, or Abrahamic religons because of this weirdo
-...if anyone wants to be her roommate or at least help her move into an actual home, please. I beg of you.

Cliffnotes: Ryou is a very polite, kindhearted guy with a marked interest in the creepy/weird and remarkably bad luck - most notably he spent several years as the unfortunate owner of the literal Cursed Egyptian Amulet that was the Millennium Ring, and by extension, the unwitting 'landlord'/host to the ancient spirit that resided within the Ring. He hasn't got the Ring anymore, but his poor luck continues in the form of some very bad Snorunt luck; he now has to deal with a highly clingy Carnivine that keeps trying to give him some very tight hugs for the next month.

Why is his life like this...

Looking for: At this point? Anyone who can help him fend off that Carnivine following him around. He's desperate.

Beyond that, more friends! Ryou's a genuinely kindhearted guy, if with a bit of a mischievous streak, so he's easy to get along with. I also want him to start working on standing up for what he personally wants instead of just standing up for everyone but himself. The groundwork was laid during the last Fourth Wall, now he just needs to build on it...

Cliffnotes: Currently living in Goldenrod with his Boyfriend (Still needs to ask him out) Cloud and recently became a breeder as he isn't the biggest fan of watching his pokemon get hurt in battles. His pokemon are almost all dogs or dog like pokemon and he'd love to get some more dogs so he can have a full team of doggos (not to be confused with his growlithe named Doggo)

From canon: Zack was a member of SOLDIER. He was from the countryside, a village from Gongaga, determined to become a hero. Under the mentorship of Angeal Hewley, Zack made SOLDIER First Class, and eventually inherited his Buster Sword, becoming one the company's most dependable elites alongside Sephiroth. After a series of crises stemming from the Shinra Electric Power Company's SOLDIER program, Zack eventually passed on (this is where he is taken from)


Looking for: Working on who he got christmas presents for made me realize that Zack needs more CR. So more friends would be lovely! He also isn't sure exactly how being a breeder works other then you just put two pokemon together and hope it happens so if another breeder would want to help him out get started he'd love that.
