Seymour Krelborn | Little Shop of Horrors (1986)
[Seymour seems genuinely surprised when he manages to get his Pokegear to record video. He had been trying to get it to work for the past half hour and was starting to suspect that it just wouldn't work for him.
He awkwardly stares at the screen for a few moments before he clears his throat.]
Hello? I think I'm dreaming right now. I don't know how else I could have ended up in a place this nice with something like this.
[Makes a gesture at the Pokegear.]
The problem is everything feels so real. Even my most intense dreams didn't feel like this... maybe I'm just going crazy.
[There is a pause as he mulls over this possibility. He then realizes something and points the camera to a Bellsprout, who is not doing much besides staring at Seymour.]
Also, I got this plant. I think it's some strange breed of pitcher plant except it... seems to be moving on its own.
[There is an uncertainty in his voice as he says this. He can't help but worry a little that he shouldn't be telling everyone that this plant is moving independently. But since no one he's run into seemed to be super worried about that...]
It's pretty fascinating, really! But I don't know what to make of all of this. If someone could prove it to me that I'm not losing it, that would be great.

So are Grass Pokemon plants? I thought they were super evolved plants at first but then I saw this
[There is an attachment of a bird Pokemon.]
and now I don't know what to think. Plants are amazing, but I don't think any amount of evolving could make a plant perfectly mimic a bird in both appearance and movement.

[He's frowning as he explains; it's news that people often take poorly. But at least this human likes their Pokemon?]
And that is a Bellsprout! It will be your new partner while you are here!

[Seymour looks like he just barely understands what this man is saying to him. He isn't panicking, per se, but was still a lot to take in.
But hey, he's cool with talking about plants.]
So it's a Bellsprout? Am I right in assuming it's related to pitcher plants?
no subject
[Mental note: probably no need to tell this one that he isn't normally a human right now. BUT YEAH PLANTS]
It is! Or, at least, it is extremely similar to them - I am not entirely certain of the ancestry of Pokemon. Wild Bellsprout feed much like ordinary pitcher plants, but you can feed yours Pokemon food!

[A week or so ago, he would have been skeptical about that "magic" claim but he figures it's a decent enough explanation right now.
More comforting than going crazy, at least.]
Um, what exactly is in "Pokemon Food"? Is it just regular plant food, or...?
[
A slightly paranoid side of him is worried that the answer is "human flesh".]no subject
[that shit's expensive, humans and all their fancy health foods]
no subject
Oh of course, it would be cruel if I didn't give this little guy sun or water. But if it needs special plant food to thrive, I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for that.
... It's not too expensive, right?
[Because he is suddenly struck with the realization that, whatever he is, he probably doesn't have any usable money again.]

[Seymour similarly looks pretty uncomfortable with this mom person. It was unnerving to him, having never known his parents, suddenly have a woman refer to him as her son. (He may or may not have thought for a split moment that his real parents actually found him, but that woman could not have been too much older than him and also this is definitely not his world.)]
But if there's wild berries I can pick I might just give it that for awhile. I ... I probably don't have a job here so money might be hard to come by for awhile.
[Not that his old job paid great until that plant thing.]

Video;
Is that little guy really moving on his own? Are those black little dots on his face eyes?
[Pokemon are so weird and fascinating!]
no subject
I think so? Or it could be fake eyes to scare off predators? I haven't done a lot of reading on this guy yet so I'm not sure. I wish I knew if there was a library around here...
no subject
Have you tried your Pokedex? It might be able to tell you. If not... then ask on the network if there's one?

He's actually kind of dapper-looking with that tie, you wouldn't happen to know where to get one of those, would you?
no subject
[He might have thought you were insulting a Pokemon at first until he remembered that, yeah, he had definitely seen an actual trash Pokemon a while back.]
I found this little guy in the Ilex Forest. They seem pretty rare here, I've only seen one or two today, but some do live here.

[ He so wishes he were kidding. ]
Interesting. I do wonder how that works... a plant bird? Does it eat food? Or just sunlight? Would you water it...?
