Daria Morgendorffer | Daria
[There would be a sight of a girl being physically ushered out of a house, leaving her to stand in the middle of the sidewalk before turning back to look at said house.]
Hi, how are you? Nice to meet you too.
[Great, so that lead her to look at the sign reading "New Bark Town". I have a few choice names I'd rather call this place. She let out a sigh as a small Abra started to float right on next to her. It's calm and relaxed, which kind of matched Daria's calm demeanor reaching to near apathetic proportions to her predicament. Reaching in to her backpack, she got out her Pokedex, figuring a few things out and trying to come to some conclusions.]
Aaaaabraaaaa...
I don't know what you said but I probably agree with it.
Video:
[There was a rather unimpressed young woman who just appeared on your phones. Communication. Right. That's rich. But she supposed if she was going to get anywhere here, she ought to at least she some of the types she had to deal with. If college taught her anything, it's adapting. No matter how much your situation is weird, it's just simply smarter.
She had the tools to live and survive, but to what she had to survive from was something she was still figuring out.]
Greetings.
My name is Daria Morgendorffer, and I am also in the Magical World of Pokemon just like the rest of you. Willingness of being so isn't all that important right now.
[The Abra floated next to her carrying a book, The Old Man and the Sea.]
This is Ernest Hemingway's The Old Man and The Sea. Published in 1952. The Abra carrying it is F. Scott Fitzgerald. Those two names have no relation to each other whatsoever, they do, but if you want...you can call him Fitzgerald. He thinks it makes him sound classy.
[Fitzgerald places the book back in the back himself before floating next to his "trainer". This is so completely in sync.]
Action
Being the type of person Mabel was, there was no way she couldn't leave this person all by herself!]
Hi there! I'm Mabel Pines, you're new here aren't you?
[Can Daria feel the energy coming from her? Because she's just beaming with excitement!]
omg hell yes
That depends, do I smell like fresh meat?
[Afterall, being reminded that she was new to this place, while not Mabel's fault, was something that she was still trying to wrap her head around.
\o/!
[She said with a bright smile on her face! Although, she was a little disappointed to see that the Abra was hiding behind their trainer. Maybe the Pokemon was just shy and needed little more confidence.
Well, if that's the case, Mabel was here to help out!]
I know I was when I got here a few months ago!

[She wasn't sure if she truly believed that yet, but come on, this line of conversation asked for it. So far this place was just freaking NUTS, maybe not death yet. After all, she was just reeling in from arriving and being thrown outside before she could even attempt asking questions. Abra made a small noise, which she heard since he was right behind her.]
Abraaaaa?
Relax, it was a joke. You have a great escape plan anyway.
[Sure as hell it did, lady. The Abra seemed to make a cheeky giggle before Teleporting! Amazing! It teleports to be sitting on her head.]
Alright, AND you proved your point. Show off.
[They seemed to get along well, but now it was time to focus on Mabel. Right, she was still here; the very happy kid. How would she respond?]
no subject
[Although, Mabel did have to admit. While it was pretty awesome staying here with her brother, Grunkle, and a few friends from home? It was a little bit different from Gravity Falls. But at the same time, would it be okay to just stay here and not really grow up? Who knows.
Either way, the moment the Abra just reappeared on top of Daria's head, Mabel couldn't help but giggle]
That's not fair! You gotta show me how you can do that, I sure know my Pokemon can't! Maybe you can think them a thing or two!
[Nevermind that her Eevee just gave her a pout before looking back at the Abra. She's suspicious of you! Now what? You’re taking attention away from the poor dog!]
no subject
[Oh no. Oh nooooo. An optimist. Oh god, oh man.
Meh, who really truly cared. It just wasn't what Daria was about, she could be her own person if she wanted. But she didn't harp on people who just lived differently. Unless if they really forced it on Daria. Then she'd led them have it.
Mabel didn't do that...yet. She was just a run of the mill, happy kid. Daria didn't do kids. But, again. Nothing entirely offensive yet.
Although, the Abra feels pressured again. But thankfully, he seemed to have gained quite the Mama Trainer.]
I, uh, think that's a bit steep for Fitzgerald right now. He's not really a "showing" kind of Pokemon.
no subject
While she knew that not everyone would be happy staying in a place like this, it felt like she had to do something. So with a small hum to herself, Mabel couldn't help but wonder]
Then that just means we'll need to get some wings for you! If it'll get any higher, we better make sure the rest of your body goes along for the ride!
[Because obviously, that was the answer to a statement like that right? But as Mabel looked back at Fitzgerald, she continued to have that same smile on her face.]
That's okay! He can do things at his own pace! I definitely don't want to make any Pokemon scared or anything because of me!

[Seriously, who talked like this? Was she trying to make Daria feel welcome? It felt a bit forced. Not many people could be this chipper and happy, genuinely. Maybe she was trying to make Daria feel comfortable...but sunshine rhetoric at every moment just didn't sit right.
So far, again, Daria didn't want to be the person that was horribly nasty to a kid who may or may not just be overly nice. She genuinely didn't want to, and kept that thought in the back of her head. There were more pressing matters than dealing with children, funny enough.]
We're still trying to get used to this "forced journey" thing, seeing as we were chosen by the forces unknown to go on such a life changing quest.
Sorry about the late!
[Just get use to it, Daria. You're talking to a girl who loves sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows here. It'll be impossible for her to not be so cheerful and especially toward somebody who was so new to this place.
That and when people were nice to her when she arrived, it was only fair to do the same to someone else who was in the place as she was]
Well, I wouldn't say "forced". Yeah, I know it kind of sucks that we're transported into some weird unknown world for whatever reason but you don't have to go on it. I know I didn't.
<33333
[She was just stubborn about this. Sure, no one was forcing her. But there wasn't that much smartness in staying and waiting.
She knew that, hence her somewhat turnaround.
Hopefully the sunshine this person was emanating wasn't getting to her.]

[That sure sounded a lot like something her brother would say. She can't deny that there was something really difficult about being able to go on adventure with such limited resources.
And yet...!]
And it might even be a lot more fun with a friend joining your party too!
no subject
All of her friends were at her home. Her real one. But that info was what she wasn't willing to go into detail about.]
Nothing phases you, does it?
no subject
Nope, not one bit! You just gotta be prepared for everything! Even the little things you gotta be glad for!
[Because you know. After nearly facing the end of the world as she knew it, she's gotta be glad for being alive right now!]
no subject
I was content in a comfy little dorm room writing down my next paper and then suddenly I'm here in a place I don't know. My cash flow or means to contact anyone of acquaintance is moot.
no subject
There wasn't really anything wrong with wanting that, was there?]
Then maybe I can help you out a little! If you're here, maybe there are some people from your world here too! Just tell me who you're looking for and we get get started!
no subject
Alright. If you see a taller girl with dark hair, piercings, and with the same expression I have right now that goes by the name "Jane"...tell her Daria is looking for her.
no subject
[As Mabel did a quick salute, there was a pause on her end. After all, she had been lucky she arrived in this place with her brother and her friends too. She can't imagine how lonely Daria might feel]
...And you know what. If she is here, I bet she's looking for you too.
no subject
This could help.
She made a nod, which was the first approved look she gave to Mabel. As much as there was a disconnect and personal disagreements...she seemed to really care about helping.
It got her to think. Then she thought too hard, and then she didn't want to mull into it right now in front of a kid.]
Unless if she remembered she owed me ten bucks.
...But, thanks.
no subject
[After all, if she knew Dipper had to owe her a bunch of leftover candy from Halloween, she would definitely track him down to the ends of the Earth! But the moment that Daria gave a small look toward her, she couldn't help but smile softly.
At least she was able to make the older girl happy somehow. She really has no idea if Jane was even here but it was worth a shot.
And especially to see someone feel less lonely]

[Jinx feels this level of unimpressed at least once an hour with her new job among Team Rocket.]
Classy choice for your partner's name.

Re: Video
I named my first partner Noir because I was feeling particularly campy at the time. He seems to think it's cool so that worked out.

Finally, someone who at speak a language I can stand.

I have a decent amount of tolerance for sunshine but I have my limits.
