Oh man, so when you click on the Applications link on the TDM, in the OP has a copypaste format for
Cali offers JayJay to hang around her hair instead as she goes to sit next to Viktor so he isn't entirely alone, "If you want, do you need some space for a little bit to breathe? I'm fully open to listening to what happened to Sky if you want to talk about her?"
From what Cali could understand, it sounded like it had been a rather tragic accident. There was no way she could leave Viktor alone in the state he was in, it'd be morally reprehensible to do so.
I see! Thnx 🐈. 1/2
Viktor takes some shuddering breaths, then seems to calm down - till a coughing fit, that is. This time, he does not hide the cough...
... does not even hide some blood by coughing into his hand.
It's almost freeing, one could almost belief, judging from Viktor's face expression after-
2/2
With a queiet tremble, and, with, for a steangers, tone of voice almost devoid of emotion, almost cut off from most emotions, even though Viktor's body and mind aren't changed yet (except for a leg and a hand), the terminal patient (or not a patient if he won't revisit Cali ever again) utters,
"Professor Heimerdinger expressed his concern. While, hmm, deeply appreciated, nonetheless both of us - Talis and I - had hoped to achieve a breakthr-- no, this is too early in ou-- in my life story. Wait. Please. Patience, dear ms doctor."
"Jayce Talis had some important Councilwork business, so he went and--
I'm beginning too early."
Suddenly voice practically raw, "...how do I, ech, confess? Where do I start? Her name was Sky Young. She was born in the Undercity. I had been making toys for myself, back then. I've met Sky before I've met Rio. Before Jayce knew how to count to one thousand. Before Heimerdinger took on a charity case called 'me'. Before my mother died of the Grey, after so many years. Smiling. Looking right at me in my beautiful Academy uniform she had been saving money for... for five years."
Shakes his head,
Utters,
"Where to begin? This is why Jayce does not yet know I had murdered a woman. Not just any person, at that. Our bright assistant. He will have to tell the Enforcers - but he won't. He cherishes the time I have left. He had once... almost committed--
Nevermind. Forget THAT, please. That is only Jayce's own business. I won't bare his mind. It's his only."
"Anyway. I killed a woman. With experimental science. She had dreams - more beautiful than my own or professor's or doctor's. As beautiful dreams as Jayce Talis's. A woman... young woman, my age, or maybe even his, yes, not as old as me. Her name - Sky Young. A trencher like me, fortunately healthy organism unlike mine. Our lab assistant. I... I had locked the doors but obviously dear Ms Young has - had - spare keys, how could she not? All the three of us do - did - I--"
Cough.
Viktor never coughs at his clothes. Always careful to cough at sonething else instead. It's a habit. No, it's a reflex. In lower brain now. Not any conscious decision anymore. Like breathing. Like primal affection. Or something.
It's no problem at all :'D If you have any more questions about the App, feel free to DM me :')
Yay! JayJay gets to enjoy insanely fluffy hair to cuddle up to as Cali goes to look for something to help clean up the blood with. She wouldn't be much of a doctor if she was squeamish about blood. It's clear that the trauma and stress from the accident is taking a toll on Viktor as Cali went to clean the blood up carefully. From what Cali is understanding now from the story, Viktor did have good intentions with what he had been working on before, risky, but ultimately was supposed to help others. It was just a wrong place at the wrong time situation that had occurred with Sky unfortunately, something that no one would've have been able to see coming.
With that said, likely from the trauma of discovering the event or not even sure how to report the death given that there wasn't remains to give, Viktor possibly didn't say anything and the guilt was eating him. The stress from recounting it was a pretty bad idea in hindsight. All Cali could do right now is be there to listen and comfort Viktor as he recalls a rather horrifying memory. She wasn't going to push more or even make Viktor say more than he wanted.
Warning: memoryvof near suicide attempt. Warning: Arcane s 1 for now spoiler warning. Oops.
The stars would stay there for years to come - he knew their names and adored their lights - but his own light was dimming.
He was falling.
A moment more. A moment more in the firmament-
The HexCore had whispered that Viktor is worthy of enjoying the stars a moment more--
A lie. There was blood on Viktor's hands.
Murderers have no worth.
No affection.
Viktor will never make weapons, so-
But he still killed a person.
Was he a hypocrite? If Jayce or Sky or Jayce's mother had ever killed a person - which they would not - Viktor would help them hide a body and then go to Enforcers and confess a crime it was me, officers. Obviously. Look, I am a trencher and I know where the body is. Please, no trial. I hate the crowds.
For killing Sky Young, Viktor made himself his own judge - he never liked the Enforcers. Nor courts.
No, Viktor simply judged himself, surely fairly and objectively, as far as Viktor could think.
Capital punishment - Viktor almost carried out the verdict - so near the ledge--
am I interrupting?
There along came his Personal Defender. Wrong place, wrong time, blinded by sentiment.
The verdict got stolen. By the defender.
Viktor will not mention this to doctor Cali. No, doctor Cali would misunderstand Jayce. She does not know, after all, that Jayce Talis was perfect, Jayce Talis, an apex of pure homo sapiens distilled into one man, no matter the inconsequential evidence to the contrary. And Jayce- so strong he could become Atlas if he wanted - from the myth - the cosmos on Atlas's broad, strong, wide shoulders. Atlas. And Prometheus. And Icarus. And Eros. And Ariadne. All rolled in one. That was simply his best friend.
Unlike him.
Viktor could tell ms Cali was trying to be comforting so he got ahold of himself and gave her a smile that he owed her.
"...apolo..gies. uhm."
Re: Warning: memoryvof near suicide attempt. Warning: Arcane s 1 for now spoiler warning. Oops.
"It's not your fault, I pushed you too far in telling me this." Cali said as she finished cleaning the blood off Viktor's face.
fortunately Viktor isn't the 12 y.o. me who in hospital 'wrote' in the air 'i can't breathe i can't'
[etc, making the doctors and nurses ask mom if I had adhd (I don't) pfftt. and no my lungs work great, my heart is a problem but no matter. XD enough irl back to rp pft /ooc][Viktor falls silent. And unresponsive at dr Cali's touch. Then, he says, curtly,]
"Thank you very much, Doctor Cali-" [wait, what was her full name? he wasn't listening much, probably, at that moment-] "...thank you, Doctor. I appreciate your patience and understanding."
Gratitude? If there is any, it does not reach Viktor's eyes. They're almost bland now save for exhaustion. His breathing is very shallow right now - which he is grateful for, at least. He's not a fan of hyperventilating which could also possibly happen and as luckily not happening right now. Instead, it's like, right now he's taking a breath once in every fifty seconds or so. That's just great. Right? His eyes are slowly closing but he's fighting to keep them open. It's a habit.
Yeah, over here, when I had appendicitis at fourteen, apparently I ended up getting really chatty
Cali doesn't blame Viktor for feeling that way, he's just recovering from the episode, "You're welcome Viktor, let's have you rest a bit."
Good news for Viktor, he's now cleansed of blood from his mouth. It's a nice day though to let Viktor rest and breathe in fresh air. Cali will continue to stay right by Viktor till he's ready to have a check up. Cali will make for a pretty good doctor later on in life, though for her first day, this one was certainly something else.
Ooc: never had appendicitis, had heard a few horror stories from hospital mates when I was 12
[Sounds tough. /ooc]Viktor doesn't wish to be ungrateful. But what can he even say? If...
"Back home, I should be in Stillwater prison. But I won't be. I doubt I'll tell anybody when I'm back home... ah. Maybe I should tell Jayce. But - what a disappointment to him. A man who had once accidentally raised him up, now is an innocent lab assistant's and friend's killer. Maybe he can take me to court."
Ah...
"Eh. Foot in mouth. I should-- I apologise."
And he dozes off. Probably only for a few minutes and then he will wake up again. And not talk of THAT again, maybe.
OOC: It was a bit tough, I was out for a little before being able to return to School, upside, I got
Cali doesn't speak for awhile, allowing Viktor to speak a bit as it's clear, he's having a bit of a time right now before he went in to sleep off the stress. Viktor really adored his friends though and Cali felt pretty bad that he was far away from them as they were his support group.
"It's okay, let's have you rest a bit." Yeah, Cali has a good future ahead for being a doctor as she let's Viktor drift off to sleep.
Re: OOC: nice
"Thank you. For listening."
Viktor, only simply Viktor, utters as he wakes and this one reaches his eyes.
"I... omitted vital details. Might've made myself look more ignorant in my, uhhh, confession to you. Don't trust me, doctor. I'm a sly man. All fissure folks gotta be, one way or another. Sly and--"
He winces. No. No, he will not say dangerous, but oh, perhaps his partner was right.
Dangerous.
Like Viktor. Taking another's life, turning it to ashes and dust. Accidentally playing at becoming a god, dissolving another person for raw materials or--- what even had happened--
When he tried to correct--- to destroy the Hexcore-- he was instead met with what was perhaps a magical equivalent of being spanked.
No matter. If the core was now made of him so much so that Viktor could not kill it, connected to Viktor so deeply, that only meant that
That the Hexcore would surely be pliant in Jayce's hands. And Jayce promised to destroy it.
How long has Viktor been here in this Pokemōn world already?
Back home, surely Jayce Talis destroyed the Hexcore already. Probably while crying a little. As Jayce was still ignorant of Viktor's true nature now.
"Rest? I thought there was no rest for the wicked. Hah, that's so old a proverb now that I shan't be surprised if the Dean uses it, still. Probably to worse students. I only ever heard praises and 'slow down a little' s from him."
Professor Heinerdinger. Viktor imagines his reaction
Maybe
goodness me, my boy, why did you not stick a DANGER. HIGHLY VIOLATILE ARCANE HEX. DO NOT TOUCH ME. - post-note for the poor girl Sky Young to see? Fiddlesticks, you so should have. Where you in a hurry, my boy?
The imaginary prof Heimerdinger would surely look with such profound disappointment--
Irritated, Viktor snatched out a random butterfly that accidentally sat on his shoulder.
Oh.
The poor thing was probably dead now. A senseless death
Fortunately, as everybody knew, butterflies were short lived.
"We -- no, lately, I, the fault was in my designs - tried to do great things, miss Cali. Unfortunately."
This one reaches his eyes, too. Honest attrition. Even though he's trying to smirk. Paint himself a smalltime villain on a whim. To a doctor, should he not be a villain? Or if not a villain, somebody incompetent who achieved nothing?
A professor - what was his name - mentioned by his Dean--
No. Viktor's intentions were not as noble. He did not fiddle with HexCore for students. Unfortunately.
Still...
To dr Cali, again, Viktor utters,
"You'll become a wonderful doc, er... I just know it. I can feel it in my bones."
He almost smiles at her.
"No rest for the wicked, but, ehh, if it's doctor's orders, I'll carry the orders out like an obedient patient and rest."
And oh, is this a small genuine smile now? Even if the scientist is but trying to joke to make the miss doctor feel good.
