Cali's arrival

Normally, Cali would've been greeted to the saturated pinks of her apartment that smelled like artificial cotton candy, but this was a very new place indeed. No eye seering colors in sight, the room smelled like sun warmed laundry, and absolutely no cotton candy sugar cluster cereal with marshmallows in sight. Cali, oh Cali, had she been close to normal would've been rightfully freaking out. Instead, she got up to explore her new surroundings like the sugar driven gremlin she is.

"Hi! Hi! Hello? Anyone here?" Cali called out before navigating to the door, opening it up to see what's outside.

Beetlejuice has a soft spot for New Bark Town--it's where he'd suddenly and mysteriously become Alive and experienced so many new things for the first time. It was also full of inexperienced and gullible trainers, so it was always worth swinging by occasionally.

"Step right up, step right up, and try the flavor of the season!" A voice calls out to the streets.

Beetlejuice has set up a booth on the sidewalk consisting of a single card table, a flimsy sign reading: TRY THE BEETLE'S JUICE, and an open cooler filled with neon green bottles. He's dressed for the warmer weather in his Bug Catcher get-up, but has made sure to wear some BEETLE'S JUICE branded pins on his hat and shirt just to make his whole deal look more legit.

It's then that he spies the girl with that tell-tale curious and lost expression making her way out into the world of Pokemon. Beetlejuice rubs his grimy hands together and whispers to the Chatot who is perched on his shoulder,

"Here comes a sucker, Chatz... HELLO THERE! YOU, YES YOU! C'mere..."

Behind the rose tinted glasses of the plague mask, Cali's attention was fully on the neon green bottles. Without thinking, Cali walks right on out into the open and right towards the equally weird guy at the stand, if a mask could smile, it'd be a wide blown one that was for sure. There was a bit of shock at just how clean everything was outside considering the world she came before was often smog filled. Up she went to the man with the rather odd looking bird nearby selling what was hopefully highly sugar based.

"Hi Hi! Nice to meet you! I'm Calliope, but everyone calls me Cali!" Cali cheerily greeted in a fast paced voice, her sugar rush evident.

The mask isn't something he usually sees around Johto, but he's not bothered. She seems to be taking things so well that he wonders if she's actually just visiting town too rather than waking up in a strange house. He gives her a winning (and yellow) smile and his Chatot squawks a greeting.

"Well aren't you a ray of sunshine? Cali, are you ready to send your taste buds on the ride of their lives?"

He fishes one of the bright green bottles out of the cooler and waggles it a little.

"Only 1000P!"

"What's P? Is it sugary too?" Cali asked as she peered about at the bright green bottle fully curious at what sugary delight it'll bring.

Cali's brain was going into overdrive on trying to figure out what flavor the green drinks were, were they lime or was it that fabled guava that she heard about in bedtime stories. Noticing the yellow teeth, Cali felt much more at home as it was a current fashion trend to dye teeth, though normally it was done to resemble keys on a piano.

The chatot, catching Cali's attention once again, "Also how'd you get your parrot's feathers to look like a music note?"

[Viktor will first glance there and see if anybody else is helping Cali. Because if anybody else is, then it's not necessarily in him to bother to do so, with a stranger.]

Cali is, for a lack of a better word, hyperactive upon arrival (I don't think she realizes she was supposed to meet with Mom just yet :x) However, it doesn't take the little Cavity Queen too long to notice Viktor there and oh boy, oh my, here comes the circus to greet him.

"Hey Hey! You're new too?" Cali asked in her usual fast paced and happy tone, the sticker decorated plague doctor mask checking out the new person.

[leaning slightly on his cane, Viktor turns to face the hyperactive, hmm, person, likely]

"In a manner of.. speaking",

[Viktor replies, slightly drily.]

"Is there anything you, hrm, need of me? 'f not, I shall be on my way. And you, your, I believe. Which would benefit us both the most, I gather."

"Well..do you know how to operate this Tuppi? It's pretty fancy and I'm not used to something that high tech." Cali was a bit baffled by Viktor before letting him see the PokeGear or 'Tuppi' as she called it.

Cali wasn't exactly sure what to make of Viktor, but he seems like a perfectly good gentleman to her in a manner of speaking. Well Viktor, the rainbow candied colored plague doctor lady (or girl...she is so short oh my goodness) is holding up a weird looking phone thing.

I. The power plant

Viktor goes, together with his Butterfree, to see the facility. Not as a tourist, no, although he can pretend- the real reason is that he's curious.

He glances at the Butterfree and mutters to it, "Hex, do you think we'll find anything here? Anything that will explain what we're doing here, but, ech, really and not just some myths and propaganda? I do tire of not knowing."


II. Silence Bridge.

It's a long walk, so hopefully there are some good resting places at least, on this bridge. Well, whether there are or not, Viktor is going to sit down sometimes, on the way. Begrudgingly.


III. Wildcard /anything goes /just make smth up

"It's just a tourist spot," Min answers, overhearing. "It provides a lot of the power for Kanto, but it's not the reason we're here."

He's here with a Plusle on his shoulder, a shiny Toxel strapped to his back, and a Loudred hanging out quietly behind his legs and is very much here as a tourist himself.

"If you're looking for answers, you're probably not going to find them here."

"Hex, go back to the PokeBall," Viktor mutters softly, friendly, to the Butterfree, upon encountering Min. "Go back home, I've already fed you, after all." Hex begrudgingly listens, although it's obvious that said Butterfree would rather remain with its PokeMaster, for now. Still listens, so that's good.

"If it provides power, it might still be useful for potentially getting back home," Viktor replies. "Time is not infinite, I want to spend at least some time home, before- before my job deadline."

"Where do I, uch, find the answers, then?"

Min keeps his own team out. Ry's the only one who might cause trouble, but the Plusle's behaving himself for now and they are here in part for his entertainment.

"I don't think they'd let you use it like that. Even if they did, people have tried to find ways of getting us home. The only time it ever seems to happen is at random." That's not what most people want to hear though. He remembers the dread it had filled him with himself. "Not everyone's here for that long though. And even if they are, people who have left and come back say time doesn't move back there."

He'd been skeptical of that at first, but he's heard it enough times now and Ryan hadn't noticed he was missing even though he'd turned up a while after he had.

"It does not move? Ergo, a time travel? What's the evidence of this theory?"

A) Exploring Goldenrod City

[The first chance Giovanni gets, he's exploring the city. It was a far cry from any place he's been in Wishfield, and he does find himself staring at the department store in awe.]

What a large building. This is a store?

B) Origami

[While his stylist powers and control over Whim aren't available to him here, he's managed to get ahold of some ordinary origami paper, and is folding the cranes by hand. It's much more difficult than using Whim, but they turn out passable still. The repeated actions were pretty grounding too. He notices someone approach him, and looks up.]

Oh, hello. Would you care to join me? I have plenty of paper to share.

A. Exploring Goldenrod City

"I think so...it's wild to see a store this large." Cali replied, she too was pretty floored by how large the department store was.

Cali goes to look up at the new coming as she perks up happily, "Also Hi there, I'm Calliope, but everyone calls me Cali, what's your name?"

"My name is Giovanni. It's a pleasure to meet you Miss Cali," He introduced himself with a bow. It not unusual to see some wild outfits back home, so he doesn't give Cali's appearance a second glance.

"I am curious as to what they could be selling that they need all that space," He hopes clothes or origami paper are among the wares there. He was about to just walk inside on his own, but he supposes he should be polite, "I think I'll go check, would you care to join me?"

"It's wonderful to meet you too Giovanni. I'm not exactly sure what they sell inside of there, but I think it's worth checking out as you said, it's a really big space." Cali chirped happily at in response, though like Giovanni, it's an incredibly big store.

"I would love you join you for checking it out, I think it'll be a lot of fun to explore." Cali was eager to have a friend with her to explore the department store with, after all, it's part of adventure :'>

Giovanni nods and leads the way, intending to hold the door open for her. To his surprise it opens automatically, and he can't help the small jolt of surprise. He recovers quickly, and steps aside gesturing for her to go in.

"Let's explore then. Ladies first," He says. He'll follow in behind her. It was just as eye catching to him on the inside with all the colorful posters and ads. "It doesn't seem like anything is being sold on this floor. Perhaps we'll find more further up?"

[Min glances over at it, but probably doesn't need to to guess where he's looking. There are a lot of big stores, but this one is definitely most prominent. The Mabosstiff by his side looks up at it too.]

It's lots of stores. If there's something you want, you can probably get it there.

So its like a marketplace?

[He's never seen one indoors or vertical before.]

I wonder if there are any good clothing stores there. Though I suppose I should focus on supplies for traveling and training first.

[He looks over to Min.]

Have you been training for awhile? What supplies did you find the most useful?

It's useful to have practical clothing.

[That's. Probably not what he means. This is a man who fully believes he is more fashionable than his father and is only occasionally right. Sorry, Giovanni.]

You can get a lot of different TMs, which is is useful when you're still starting out. A lot of the evolutionary items are only available from department stores too.

B)

I just might. However, paper is not a very, eh, enduring material. Have you thought about using wood or plastic or steel? Or stone? [Viktor asks, lightly. He's just curious. Why paper, that can crumble with a firm touch?]

I'm afraid I don't know how to make these using other materials. Besides, making them this way is a bit of a tradition from home, although, I'll admit I'm not entirely doing it properly.

[He looks down at the crane he just made, inspecting the creases on it. He wishes he could make it fly.]

Back home we used to fold our wishes into the cranes, and then burn them. However, right now, I'm mainly folding them because its familiar and relaxing.

[Viktor nods, that does make sense. Sentimental reasons, too. He gets it.]

[Burn them, huh? Despite himself, he recalls the Dean's words. But-]

If, instead of burning it, one shared cranes with one's friends, would that be, hmm, so against the tradition?

And can they fly?
