[ She frowns at her pokemon partner, quietly huffing at it to behave, please with a certain fretfulness to her tone. Her Emolga is more eager to make friends, swinging its arms rapidly between gliding to greet the other friendly-seeming pokemon. It occurs to Quistis that maybe she should find a second party member; if not for ease in battle, then for the sake of her starter.

Once her Emolga's back to hovering around her, Quistis manages to respond in kind, leaning forward ever-so slightly and canting her own head.
]

It would appear that you and I are in the same boat, so to speak. [ Somehow, that's more of a relief to her than him being native to this place. She already had someone call themselves mom, she doesn't need any other newly announced family members. ] I'm afraid that I've not heard of Eos so it's unlikely that I've met your companions in passing.

[ She settles into a more comfortable, conversational tone as she nears him more her Emolga occasionally letting out some upturned, pleasant chatter. ]

My pokemon's a bit more social than I am, it seems. [ She doesn't quite get the big picture yet as she extends a hand in greeting. ] Quistis Trepe. I'm from Balamb, though I'm not sure if that's a common name elsewhere. If you've heard any mention of it, however, I would appreciate any information. I don't think anyone I know is here, unfortunately.

Prompto explained as much to me, that there would be others from different worlds aside from our own. He and Noctis arrived much earlier than myself.

[It's all together an odd concept, but not wholly foreign. It would be immature to believe that their own world was the only to exist in such a fast universe, after all. What astounded him most was that they did not arrive at the same time. Prompto from the beginning of their journey and Noctis from somewhere before the events in Altissa.]

Audino is of a helpful sort, so I certainly don't mind the chatter. [Ignis, of course, misses the hand extended to him, instead facing her fully as Audino deigned to finally let go to approach the Emolga so as to speak with the pokemon some more. With his hand now freed, he rests both atop the cane.] A pleasure to meet you, Miss Trepe, I am Ignis Scientia. Eos is the world I am from, but my home is in Insomnia. I'm afraid I have never heard of Balamb. My information is limited to what I have been told thus far, my apologies.

I'm not sure if I consider that information more or less reassuring. It's worrisome.

[ Considering the very concept of time compression in and of itself is so grand, it would be very odd if hers was the only universe out there. It's a bit harder to swallow when you're dragged into it against your will and dealing with a situation like this than just dealing with the concept of it all, however.

She can only hope that being here wasn't a sign of failure for herself and her companions.
]

I cannot say the same for Emolga, at least not with certainty. She's somewhat troublesome and seems to let her curiosity get the better of her. [ She almost sounds scolding when she says this, as if she means for her pokemon to take note. She doesn't consider her gesture snubbed, but she's not quite sure if she should make any assumptions yet. She unfortunately has made snap judgements in the past. ] Likewise, Mister Scientia; though I vastly prefer my given name, if you are comfortable using first names. As for that, it still isn't familiar to me so it seems we may be from entirely different worlds if that is the case. It couldn't hurt to have asked, but I wasn't expecting a favorable response when it came to Balamb. On the other hand, knowing my friends, it is just as likely that they're too busy entertaining themselves to offer any information about where they're from publicly...

[ Which is to say, Zell might be gorging somewhere with Selphie in tow, cheering on every bite he takes and Squall isn't social enough to have offered information beyond what is required; Rinoa might, were she here... and Irvine may just be anyone's guess. They're all SeeD, regardless, so if they were here they'd find one another.

Meanwhile, her Emolga is introducing itself, twirling around Ignis' Audino in a slow, circular glide. Quistis can only hope she's behaving.

Not at all, please, call me Ignis then.

[Ah, well, the Pokemon were new for him so he wasn't sure he could make a snap judgement just yet. Especially since Audino really has been helpful to him. Speaking of which, Audino follows the twirling Emolga, although mindful of where her trainer stood.]

I'm sure, if your friends are here, they will make their presence known eventually. However, in the meantime, might I acquire your assistance?

[While Audino could certainly read a map, it wasn't something he wanted her to do while insisting on keeping herself close to him. But he did promise he would meet Prompto and Noctis in Cherrygrove City and he needed to push himself to working through his disability in unfamiliar territory. Much like he had been doing back home.]

I have been told the wild pokemon do not attack trainers, only their monsters. But I'm disinclined to believe that until I experience it myself. However, having another trainer accompany me to Cherrygrove City may ease my worry over the journey there as, along with being unfamiliar with the area, I am still learning to adapt.

[He thought much the same as her, that obtaining another party member would prove useful. Not only that but while he was not always a talkative sort, he did enjoy listening and even participating in the occasional talk.

If that's what you'd prefer, then.

[ It feels less formal this way. Miss reminded her too much of her still fresh wounds when it came to being an instructor. She'd failed spectacularly with that in many ways, but it had been a learning experience. She might have beaten herself up more on it in the past, but she's changed in the same way that her friends have. Maybe not in obvious ways, but more than she could have imagined.

She vaguely glances over at their pokemon, content that at least they seem to be comfortable. Some seem hostile, even if they have trainers. Emolga might be a handful, but it could always be much worse.
]

I can only hope so. [ But she doesn't linger on that line of conversation, if only because there's no use worrying about something that may not factor in to the situation. It's better to address what's at hand. ] I'm relieved you asked; I'm used to doing the fighting, not relying on others -- at least not without magic or weapons. I've studied the maps, but that's different than firsthand experience.

[ But she probably didn't have to tell him about that. She had heard a bit about wild pokemon and had a few encounters of her own thus far, but none so extreme that she would think that it was as frequent as it could be. ]

Pokemon seem to differ greatly, even within the same kind. I wouldn't doubt there's exceptions to that, even if they only attack out of being startled or scared. To my knowledge there's only one route and no split paths, so I can't see why we shouldn't work together for now. [ Quistis would occasionally talk out of nervousness, not necessarily anxiety or even wanting to please others. Sometimes it pushed a little too far into teasing or flirting or just being too personal, but she'd like to think she's learned to be more appropriate. ] Emolga is an electric type, by the way. Despite her stature, she's good at scouting ahead. I'd like to think she's more an invaluable asset on a journey than I might be. I don't know much about yours, but from what I gather there's several hundred different pokemon. It's going to be quite the learning experience.

[A small smile quirks his lips at her admission of not relying on others and he tilts his head in acknowledgement.]

Relying on companions is quite the valuable asset, you may come to find. I may be the Advisor to the prince, and Gladiolus his Shield, but I've come to rely on everyone in our party just as they had to me.

[Although these days, he knows he's quite the burden. But he would see their journey to the end, this... detour aside, that is.]

Yes, I do believe Prompto mentioned something similar when I had asked about the route to Cherrygrove. Even so, having another to help keep me from straying off the path would ease my worry greatly. Audino is of the "normal type", not quite sure what that entails, but she seems to want to stay as close as possible to me. [So, someone scouting ahead and making sure he's not going to run into anything, even with his cane, would be best. He intends to become proficient despite his disability, but he knows it's not something he will learn in a day. It will take time and Ignis' pride would need to allow for that time.] No better time to start learning than the present, shall we?

[Audino, being the "hearing pokemon" was listening to their conversation even as she conversed with Emolga and thus, gave the electric type a wave and made her way back to Ignis' side.]

[ She cants her head, nearly touching her chin to neck. It's something she has difficulty with, both dealing with in time and discussing. In reality, she wants to rely on others. It's just making the connection to get to that point. ]

I don't disagree. As a former instructor and current S-Rank Mercenary with Garden, it's crucial to create and maintain trustworthy relationships. Of course, I cannot say what your work may entail, but I suspect we may have some things in common.

[ She thought of herself as something of an advisor to Squall. Not that he didn't know the correct path to take or that she would know better than he did, but it felt like that's what she's become as she would stand and discuss things with the Headmaster. It was nice to feel like you had a purpose. ]

Ah... I, I see. My apologies. I hadn't quite picked up on your situation. [ She tries to be sensitive but there's no mincing the reality of it all. Her tone is apologetic as her lopsided smile; it can be heard in her voice. ] From what I've gathered, normal types are quite versatile and can learn abilities via something referred to as a "TM," but I haven't had much time since arrival to really delve into it.

[ She's occasional awkward if not forceful, but she takes care when she approaches further, a gloved hand brushing against his elbow because all she can really think of is gesture is better than expression. Especially when her words often fall short or stumble. From the way she does it, it's pretty clear that she's on the taller side, at least. ]

Please feel free to count on me, in that case. You seem to know a bit more than I do, so I'm glad to hear any information you may have about what's ahead. [ Her Emolga swirls mostly around the Audino, glad for the company, but somehow it doesn't take eyes to know that it's showing off with a little acrobatic prowess with non-stop chittering accompanying each move. ] She seems to be keen on praise, so you'll likely hear her floating around. If it feels disorienting, I'll try to reel her in.
