Cherrygrove
The small open grassy area they were in was definitely a good place for easy playful training, and that's what the two of them were doing at the moment.
But, even if that was definitely Keith getting that Litten to train with him, he looked... older. A bit taller, a bit more filled out, his hair was even somewhat longer. Oh, and there was the matter of a large scar across the right side of his face...]

[Honestly, she can't remember hearing Keith laugh like that since Arus-- wait, Keith?
That snaps her out of her grogginess in an instant. The last she heard from him was him... well... preparing to ram into the witch's shield in order to save them. And then immediately after the battle, they had to work out restraining Lotor and he had just... faded back into the ranks of the Blade of Marmora. And he hadn't had that scar during the briefing, had he?
She runs over to him quickly, the little white Vulpix bounding after her and wondering what on Earth could get her trainer's attention so quickly.]
Keith?
no subject
Allura. [Gently, he moved the Litten aside so he could stand and greet her. Yup, definitely an inch or two taller here.] It's good to see you. When'd you get here?
no subject
[Huh. So he is, what...? And since when is Keith this relaxed?]
I... you as well. This town, a few vargas ago, but I've been on this planet- this reality, apparently- for a few quintants... When did you get here? Are you all right?
[Meanwhile, Coressa watches the exchange for a bit, head bobbing back and forth, before turning her attention to the Litten, giving him a soft bark of "keo!" in greeting.]
no subject
He shook his head a little.] What about you? You're not hurt or anything, right? [She did look a little roughed up, though.]
Li! [Litten waved his tail a little in response.]
1/2
[A grimace crosses her features at the mention of The Woman.]
Yes... That was unnerving for me as well.
[One mother was good enough for her, thank you very much. And don't get her started on her last memories of her father's AI.]
2/2
[Still, the unnease fades back to concern for him.]
I'm fine, just adjusting to "roughing it." [And she means that, she'll get used to it. ... Maybe. Her rueful smile fades though.] I should be asking you that... We... never got to speak after Naxzela...
no subject
Naxzela? [That was... well, years ago for him now. Not for the others, so much, though he didn't realize exactly how much...] Allura... I've been back with Voltron for a while now. We've spoken since then.
[Right?]
no subject
[Wait, what?]
You have? But... when? Naxzela was only quintants ago. Last I heard you'd been sent away on another mission. We...
[They hadn't even been able to get a pretending-to-be-fine "hi" otu of him after he'd almost sacrificed himself...]
no subject
Oh... [He sighed a little.] I heard a rumor about stuff like this. [He took a breath.] Apparently, people from the same reality can actually be from different points in time. It looks like that's what happened to us.
no subject
Oh...
[She'd heart bits and pieces about the flow of time here being disconnected from other realities, but not that rumor. Still, considering everything she's seen so far, she believes it... especially with the changes in Keith's appearance.]
That makes some sense... And you say you're back with Team Voltron?
[She can't help the twinge of hope in her voice. Keith's parting had been mostly on good terms, but she still felt responsible for not doing enough to encourage him to stay, make him feel like he was a good leader, part of her family. And well... she's missed him. They all have.]
no subject
Yeah. I guess... it's kind of a long story. But, I'm piloting the Black Lion again.
[Which, honestly, could really only mean one thing with how Keith felt about that... something had happened to Shiro again. And it showed in Keith's face in more ways than one.
He swallowed.]
A lot's happened since Naxzela for me... and for Team Voltron. Well, for everyone. I'll answer any questions you have, but... I don't know how much you want to know. [Knowing the future could be bad, right? At least, that's what all the sci-fi stories said.
The change in his demeanor, though, did not go unnoticed by his new partner. The Litten turned from the Vulpix and rubbed his face against Keith's leg for attention. Keith managed a small smile for him, and reached down to pick him up.]
no subject
[Ah... he has a point. Still, from what she's gathered so far, it might not impact their timeline at all. In any case, she'll give him a soft smile as she picks up Coressa as well.]
Why don't we find somewhere to sit down? I think it might be close to lunch time, anyway.
no subject
Yeah... that sounds good. I think there's a place we can do that nearby.
[Keith had come across a few trainers on the road, too, who'd been willing to battle, so he had some extra cash.]
I can get lunch for us.
[Not that he didn't think Allura had been able to battle for her own cash, but he was willing to be the Team Leader for the moment and take care of his teammate if she needed the help.]
no subject
Are you sure? I do have some funds as well?
[Not enough where a spa trip doesn't seem wasteful, but enough that she can at least split the bill. Plus, of course, it's common courtesy to make sure of these kinds of offers.]

[A slight pause... and then a soft smile and nod as she follows him.]
Then... thank you, Keith. [Her smile quirks in amusement.] It will help that you likely know what the food items actually are.
[Amazing as Hunk was at adapting alien ingredients to human recipes, she sorely doubts she has a proper grasp on Earth cuisine. (Especially after the incident with Kaltanecker...) Half the items in the bento had looked unfamiliar but very thankfully all of them were edible.]
no subject
[So, yeah... it was going to look a little bit different. The overall presentations would be familiar, but things like color and maybe some textures and flavors might not be exactly what Allura would expect, even after experiencing Hunk's natural cooking instincts.
He took a seat at a table with her. It was simple stuff... a couple of types of coffee and tea, some juices, snacks and sandwiches... Keith explained anything she seemed interested in so she could place an informed order.]
no subject
[Having Keith here to explain things is very helpful... as is the fact that everything on the menu looks adorable. She orders a pot of Roserade Tea and a Gratin a la Pumpkaboo, since it's a bit chilly out, and some Pokemon food for Coressa. And well... it's nice, being able to spend some time with Keith again, especially time that isn't in the middle of a mission, or trying to escape in an unstable shuttle, or her begging him to come back or stay. Aside from the Voltron shows... she never really has the opportunity to just hang out with the Paladins, even after becoming one of them. So even with how much weird is going on... this is a welcome part of it.]
no subject
Plus, he remembered Lance's story about how Coran and Allura had reacted to the demonstration he gave on how to get milk from Kaltenecker, and Keith had a feeling she probably didn't want to think about that, either.
He ordered the Dugtrio themed sandwich plate that was a trio of cute toasted sliders with a cup of tomato soup, and a lemonade for himself. He waited for the server to head back to the counter to place their orders before uncrossing his arms and leaning on the table.]
So... Naxzela, huh? [It wasn't really a question... more rhetorical sounding. He hadn't thought about that battle in a while... how close he'd come to losing the whole team, Matt, almost a third of the known galaxy, and the war. How willing he'd been to sacrifice himself to save it all and hopefully give them a chance to keep fighting, not knowing for sure if it would work, but deciding it was worth the risk.
He brought his hands up off the table, leaving his elbows down so he could lean his head against his hands supported.]
Probably hard to think of questions about stuff you don't know about... but... Well, I mean. [He sighed.] I'll answer anything you wanna know up to what I know. [He met her eyes finally, peering over his clasped hands.]
