And more than that, I have you as a companion in this plane—and the imp. I wonder if I might train him to help me in my endeavors. He seems quite intelligent.

[The first word of that second sentence is in a woman's voice, and the rest a man's, both surprisingly good imitations for a small girl. All of it comes out more smoothly than the very first word did. Speaking with her own voice is still very hard.]

New Bark Town/Route 29

[OOC: Because it's more fun to see how Ilphyl reacts before they figure out they are dealing with a dark elf from a version of their own plane. Also, note to self to ask how OCs created for RPGs with officially published settings work.]

Ilphyl had unceremoniously been shoved out the door not that long before, and after getting some distance from the uncanny house (because seriously, what was that?), they were stopping to assess the situation and determine that, yes they are human (the first clue was outside being bright, but not 'ow, I'm blind until I get my goggles on') and that they were down a lot of magical abilities, and up one mushroom creature.

Hearing someone else on the trail did cause Ilphyl to scramble off, and utterly fail to wildshape into a bird. Instead, they mostly managed to be trying not to in a bush when they turned to face the new arrival.

Meanwhile, Jarlaxle would see a short human-seeming adolescent with dark skin and long white hair, with a similar bag to his own, and their own strange creature.

"The trail is pretty narrow here."

That is a tale very familiar to all who call Eorzea home. War cares little for natural lifespans.

[Honestly, he was considering adopting one as well simply because he was curious about them and having one with him would be easier to learn more about them. Also Poochyena didn't really seem to consider them worth her time to chase around. As far as he could tell, she liked to act tough and when the creature seemed to be incapable of giving her the gratification that she wanted, it wasn't fun for her.

Yes, I do. I met with the Paladins of Voltron once and spoke with Princess Allura. [By breaking onto their ship and leading four of the paladins in a chase through the castle trying to stop him until he ran into Shiro... but who was counting]

It seems like it would be a difficult thing to figure out, how something here is able to change something so fundamental.

Strange that they would want others of different races to all look the same. While I can agree not all races are particularly pleasant to look at, not all are so bad.

Grimmjow let out a low growl. "Next time you see 'im you fuckin' point me at 'im," he replied simply. He didn't know anything about Ichigo's mom or her death, but he knew one thing for certain. Ichigo didn't hurt anybody, let alone kill them, unless he had no other choice.

Fell for his trap, Mom died protecting me.” Ichigo cleared his throat and started walking in the direction he’d been heading originally. “As long as my sisters aren’t there, I’d be happy to let you loose on him. They don’t need to see that kind of brutality.”

Grimmjow fell into step beside him, scowling as he listened. "Yeah, well, that ain't your fault. You're not fuckin' stupid enough to believe that, either," he added, reaching up to thump the back of Ichigo's head. "But I'll still kick his damn ass for it."

[ Kimmuriel is antisocial at the best of times, and being in a new place and significantly changed hasn't put him in any sort of mood for interaction.

However, his partner Pokemon is completely unburdened by expectation or any sense of caution at all, and so anyone new to them - which is pretty much anyone at all - has a high chance of finding a small, exuberant Inkay propelling itself at top speed towards their head.

Their exasperated trainer is quick to follow, attempting to disentangle them with varying degrees of success. He's not exactly sorry about this happening, but it is pretty inconvenient. ]

[ If you're fortunate enough to avoid being tackled by a squid, you might just come across Kimmuriel scolding his starter outside town instead. ]

This behaviour is unacceptable. Do you understand?

[ The Inkay hangs from his hands, completely unrepentant...either it's not getting through or they really just don't care.]

It says that we might train the creatures to fight each other, to win monetary prizes and great acclaim. And indeed, to win precious and rare trinkets as well. This 'megastone' that one might receive after challenging and winning against all the 'Gyms' in a region... I think my new little friend might enjoy the presence of such a stone, wouldn't you, Euol?

[The costume wings, the imitative greeting... it makes all the sense in the world.]

"So it is," Jarlaxle says, pleasantly to the youth. He notes the dark skin and white hair. A coincidence, perhaps, but then, perhaps not. "I am sorry if I chased you off it. That was not my aim."

(Jarlaxle's own pate is shaved bald, of course, but his eyebrows are as white as any drow's.)

"Are you a newcomer as well?" he asks after a moment.
