Ilex Forest

(Thankfully, the noises actually come from a Trainer and his Dartrix just taking a (mostly) quiet walk in the forest. After the time traveling adventure in Hisui, Harry is hoping to find some peace and quiet in Jotho before he can take on the Gym Battles and, luckily for him, Lily has evolved into a Dartrix during their Hisui adventure.

As he tries to navigate a dark forest with a torch (a British term for flashlight), he turns around to Boober in the forest too. Lily gets slightly spooked out for a moment with her feathers getting ruffled up.)

Oh my! I’m so sorry if I have frightened you all the sudden: I thought that there was a wild Drifloom passing by in this area. Lily here is worried about running into them at night.

Dar-trix, dar! Trix!

[soupguy]

[Boober rears back a little in surprise, and his Volbeat sees this as possible reason to attack, rushing to get between the Dartrix and his trainer. Boober, on the other hand, smiles.]

Archie, no, it's okay. [Archie backs off, and Boober crouches down to pat him on the head as he addresses the other trainer and his partner.] I can understand being worried about running into something creepy. Especially at night in a place like this.

(Harry still remembers the reminder he has given about being careful with traveling at night when he first arrived in Hisui and he still keeps that in mind even after returning to the present day.)

Yeah, it does get a bit scary at times. You never know what could be lurking in the dark. Lily does have a tendency to worry a lot when it comes to going around places at night since she had to deal with some rough Pokémon some time ago.

[Boober's attention whips back from being on Archie as Harry speaks, and he shudders.]

She-She did? What happened?

She definitely did. One time while I was on patrol duty at a base camp last month, we encountered a terrifying Luxary at night and she did her best to protect me and my other Pokémon. I was scared for her as she has to face multiple electric attacks coming for her.

While the encounter was happening and despite being smaller initially, she did evolved into a Dartrix and she was able to stop the Luxary before things went downhill. But she hasn’t shaken the experience from her mind for a while now.

[soupguy]

Well of course she hasn't! That-That sounds terrifying! The poor thi--

Wait, wait. The Luxray attacked your Pokemon and you?

[phoenixwiz]

That’s correct: we were just checking around for any signs of danger when that Luxary tried to attack us. That Pokémon just showed up all the sudden and was not pleased to see us.

(Yep, even in the world of Pokémon, trouble always finds its way to come at him, even if he didn’t asked for it. He is well aware to be careful with aggressive Pokémon, but he didn’t expect to encounter angry normal Pokémon to attack at night too.)

It was thankfully not an Alpha Pokemon because they are much scarier than the average Pokémon, but it was not too happy that we were too close to the area it was at. I’m terribly sorry if I had to relay this information to you.

Oh... [Boober sighs as he moves from crouching to just sitting there on the ground. Keepings his clothes clean is not the top priority here, as he puts a hand on either side of his head.] I-I didn't know... I thought Pokemon only attacked other Pokemon, and even that wasn't...

[He whimpers, very quietly.]

I shouldn't even be here.

[phoenixwiz]

And I guess that the same could apply to me too. I will admit though that the place I was at, Hisui, didn’t have humans and Pokémon living in harmony like what we are having in Jotho.

(He is still cautious about trusting Cara Liss and her time machine since the latter was what led to him and several others to be stranded on old Hisui in the first place. And he is hoping that she doesn’t mess around with it for the foreseeable future.)

Hey, um, maybe we can try to find a place where we can stay at without having to worry about wild Pokémon coming to scare us off. Even if it is a clearing that we can set up camp for the night.

[soupguy]

[The teen looks up with a light sniffle, and nods.]

Yeah.... Yeah, I think that's a good idea. There's safety in numbers, right?

[phoenixwiz]

I agree too. It is always a good idea to have a travel buddy along.

Dartrix! Dar-trix, Trix!

(Lily finally loosens up after fretting about the forest situation for a while as the small group soon begin their way out of the forest. It may take a while for him to help her to not let her fears get the best of her, but at least she doesn’t have to worry about wild Pokémon suddenly coming to fight her, Violet and Godric at night.)

Oh by the way, my name is Harry, Harry Potter. But you can just call me Harry. I have been in Jotho for a good while now and I am also a Trainer as well, although I am originally from England. Lily here is my starter when I came to Hisui and she is a great partner to be with.

Dar!

(Lily is already blushing at the compliment her Trainer has given onto her.)

[Boober gets to his feet, brushes off his clothes, and then picks up Archie in his arms, holding the Pokemon so they're facing each other. Volbeat is a better flashlight that way, and for all his tough guy posturing, Archie seems pleased to be hugged.]

It's nice to meet you, Harry. And Lily. I'm Boober, and this is Archie, and- Well, I don't know where England is, to be honest... Is that a Silly Creature community, I'm guessing?

Nice to meet you, Boober and Archie. I’m glad that we don’t worry about creepy stuff now that we’re in this together.

And why yes, it is a Silly Creature community: we don’t have Pokémon running around in the country although we have magical creatures who call England and nearby countries as home though.

[soupguy]

Well, I don't know about not worrying anymore... [That's a muttered aside, but then he speaks normally.] Yeah, you guys have a lot of monsters you like to hang out with, huh? I mean, they're not like Pokemon, but it's still-- Like those four-legged hairy beasts, those aren't too different from Pokemon.

There's magical creatures where I'm from, too, I suppose, but they're not nearly as big. Mostly.

[phoenixwiz]

Yep, there are plenty of benevolent creatures I can think of my head and several of them are four legs too. I once befriended a hippogriff back in my Third Year and he is a gentle and loyal friend to be with. One of my friends has even kept some of them as pets too and treated them as if they’re his children or friends.

Oh wow, there are also magical creatures in your home as well? That’s pretty brilliant! What kind of creatures are living in there if I may ask?

[Boober stopped walking for a moment, and even as he picked that back up he was quiet to think a bit. Some were obvious, but other creatures... He really wasn't sure if they counted as magic.]

There's all sorts of cave critters, like grizzards and... Whatever Bongo is. [A shrug.] And the Gorgs might be magical? I'm not sure.

I haven’t heard of those creatures or read them on my textbook on magical creatures before, but they do sound just as interesting as the Pokémon in this world. I do think that the Gorgs could count as magical, I suppose.

(Lily rolls he eyes in bemusement as she owl giggles.

She knows that there is a difference between magical creatures and Pokémon but she didn’t bother to correct her wizard Trainer too much these days: he is pretty used to magical terms and magic in general, so it has become quite customary for him to make such analogies whenever non human and animal creatures are brought up.)
