If someone would have told Hanna that he'd be staring at Pidgeys outside his window today, he would have laughed at them. It was 2009 for god sake and he was outside, obviously that was never going to happen. But...strangely enough, here he was. And with a pokemon he hadn't ever seen before, but seemed to want to follow him anyways. She was cute, a little purple bat that was way cooler than any Zubat he had ever seen, and she was all his.

He grinned as the little thing settled on his shoulder, feeling like he should strike a pose when there was probably no one around to see it, and he did so, not even checking the surrounding area before puffing out his tiny chest, putting his hands on his hips and closing his eyes to take in a deep breath. The little Noibat did the same, tiny head held high, ears perked.

"We are going to kick some ass," He stated proudly, the little creature squeaked "Noi-Noi" in response, and he grinned, "Noi-Noi is right, Earhart. Noi-noi is fucking right."

[Hanna, who seems to be staring out into the vast expanse, or really just route 29, seems a little unsure, even if he was so confident before. He just...has a few questions.] So, after saying good bye to..uh...Mom, Um. You're just supposed to go out into the great unknown and live your little pokemon life, right? But...what about learning how to do laundry without a washing machine, and I mean, I've camped before, it's understandable if I die along the way, but what about Earhart?

I...I'm really excited but, I got to think about more than just me, yanno?

[He shifts the camera to show his little friend, the Noibat perking it's ears when it gets the attention.] Look at that face! I can't disappoint that face! So, all the help I can get, really. Just send me your tips please! Amelia deserves the best.

Fact, you can't die here, don't worry about it. As for laundry, haven't you ever done it in the sink? It's kind of the same.

[Hanna is just going to stare at the person on the screen.]

[Though, he supposed that...anything was possible when your insides were all put back together and nothing was left of previous body horrors but the telling line of a scar and a surprising lack of staples on his chest.] And...well? When things said hand wash only, I thought it was more of a suggestion. And put them in the washing machine anyways.

Well, you might die, but it wouldn't stick, so TBH I don't really think it counts. Anyway, clothes washing isn't hard. Most things, you just put some soap in the water and scrub your clothes in. A child could figure it out.

Sure, people introduce their buddies if they're around. Usually by name, since yeah, you learn the species well enough if you're here long enough. I'm Dave, by the way. You named your bat after Amelia Earhart?

[Hanna has never had a pet before so this love story is going to be disgustingly sugar sweet, he's not even sorry. He'll turn the camera to proudly show his little Noibat though, just chilling there without much care in the world. She's adorable.] Just look at her ears! So long as she's not screaming, I mean, she's already got me wrapped around her tiny little fingers.

I think I'm in love.

I wouldn't worry about dying on the way to Cherrygrove, but it is important to stay hydrated!

Well I'll keep that in mind. Though...now if you had a water pokemon, would the water it creates be like, potable? Or would you just...not want to consume it at all.

The book they give you is going to be your friend for quite some time! Pay close attention to what berries it tells you are safe to eat. Do not try to eat anything intended only for Pokemon. You will be very sad.

There are several pools and ponds you can give your clothes a good rinsing in but be careful! Some of the water-types living there may steal your unmentionables. Voice of experience. I never did catch that Polywag.

And. Perhaps the MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL. Do not, I repeat do not try to climb the ledges, no matter how short they may appear.

[From past experience with pokemon games Hanna knows that Gyarados are fucking bad ass and he's glad this guy is giving him advice. Probably not some shady dude. Definitely not.]

They are bewitched. The only creature that can cross ledges is a Pokemon called Skiddo. It later evolves into Gogoat. If you ride one, you will be fine. Otherwise...

That's...really weird. What about fences or like, any other sort of barrier? Am I going to have trouble jumping over like, shrubs and shit?
