Keith | Voltron Legendary Defender
[What’s definitely not normal is falling asleep in a hot, dry desert shack, and waking up in an honest-to-god bedroom. He tries not to think about the woman telling him to hurry up and leave or the food and bag she gives him. That’s fine, this is…. Fine? He thinks. Keith stumbles out and he knows he must be crazy because he hears music with no idea where it’s from.
The town is quiet so he takes a seat on the side of the road and picks through the bag - night things, food and sandwiches, water. Probably the heaviest thing is the red-and-white ball that he weighs in his hand before putting everything else back.]
Think I finally lost it.
[He looks next to the comm device and looks it over. He was never good at these things, he’d be laughed at if his former classmates saw him.]
Does anyone know how to wake up?
Network
-wake up?
[There’s a video showing a young man with longer hair from below, obviously frustrated about something. He looks around, then down at the screen again and notices something is different.]
Is it recording? Great. Don’t even know how I did that. [He squints at it a little more, not quite getting that it’s broadcasting too.]
Well. If there’s anyone out there on this thing, I guess… Hi. [He moves the comm and it abruptly disconnects.]
network for now
[GUESS WHO.]
[Okay, looking a little less sleep deprived, a little less haggard and... more tan?? Yeah, it's this guy. He's also grinning like an idiot.]
Glad you decided to join us, man.
no subject
Shiro?!
You're... You're here. How?
no subject
Don't worry -- this place is weird, but it's safe.
[Considering how upset the poor guy looks, it's probably best to try and reassure him.]
If you give me a few days, I can get out to you.
no subject
This has to be a dream. You're not here. You can't be.
[Yeah he's definitely been in the desert too long.]
no subject
Hey, take it easy. I'm not anywhere near where you are now, but I can be soon.
Are you okay?
[Physically, anyway.]
no subject
[He just sounds exhausted and a little resigned to this. Whatever 'this' is.]
no subject
Hunk's here too. And... so is Pidge's brother.
[If that helps to hear.]
no subject
[He doesn't know Hunk, but he's heard the name Pidge sometimes and he knows Matt. That's fairly easy to put together. His shoulders sort of slump and he tries to breathe again.]

welcome to Pokemon world, meet knock-off brand Lance
[There's a narrow-faced young man, who just so happens to be wearing a truly godawful
HawaiianSevii-patterned shirt and a green Starmiebucks visor grinning into the camera.]Welcome to Pokemon world. What'd you get for a starter?
[Someone is perusing the network during his break at work and just happened to see this.]
who's that sounds fake
I don't know? A. Small cat. [He hasn't bothered messing with the actual dex portion of the thing.]
no subject
[These are the important questions.]
no subject
[Shiro's seen it, said he wasn't surprised, but didn't say what it was called. Keith, on the other hand, sounds suspicious of whoever this is.]

no subject
And who are you? [Look it's... It's not you, man, he just doesn't know you.]
no subject
[Jean looks into the camera with more interest now. Is this another one of Shiro's friends, or has Shiro been dadding on the network again and adding more children to his ever-growing flock?]
I'm Jean. Are you one of Shiro's friends from home?
no subject
[He's not entirely sure what all Shiro has said and with what the situation is. But if this guy knows Shiro then maybe.]
We were in the same exploration program.

[Matt waves at him over the Gear, looking a decent amount older than when Keith last saw him, with shaggier hair and a scar on his cheek.]
Good to see you again!
no subject
Matt. [He sounds. Out of breath and just as in disbelief as he was Shiro.]
no subject
I guess the better thing to ask is... what's the last thing you remember?
[Because boy oh boy does that matter.]
no subject
I was in the desert for the last year.
[Not exactly helpful in a lot of ways.]
no subject
[Matt's a bit further along in the timeline than Shiro. Oops.]
So, uh. I'm from a good deal in your future. And there's Stuff. Lots of Stuff.
no subject
[Okay no Matt you're having crazy talk.]
Yeah, I have. I haven't been at the Garrison for a year now.
no subject
[It's as fond as an insult can be.]
It's complicated. Honestly, Shiro's probably better at explaining than me. You know how rambly I get when I try to explain complicated shit that isn't science.
no subject
[He blinks slowly because new information always takes him a few seconds to register.]
What. I-- That doesn't even make sense. It makes less sense than this place.
