No that--wait let me--

[It starts out as just audio but then the video snaps on and a pair of boot-clad feet are visible followed by a Mienfoo's snout as it leans in to peer at the 'gear.]

Oh, hang on!

[The Mienfoo disappears from view as the 'gear is turned upright and a young woman comes into view, human at first glance but there are odd markings on her cheek and her ears are definitely a bit pointed. Humanoid at the very least.

She frowns, lips pursed.]

Lance? Allura? Where is everyone! You could have told me we were landing! [She glances down, her frown softening.] At least the creatures here are much nicer than the last planet...


[Action - Sevii Islands Ferry]

Look at that! It's massive!

[Romelle had decided to venture out to the islands she'd heard so much about and honestly it was absolutely enthralling. She'd already seen so many amazing things since arriving here but being out of the water was the best yet.

Perched on the railing, feet on the lower bar and her hands bracing her weight on the top bar, she leaned out over the railing itself a bit with a wide smile as a pod of Wailmer breached a few yards out. Her Mienfoo was hanging on the railing beside her, chirping her own delight at the sight as she swung back and forth.]

What do you think, Lia? Do you think we could catch one? [She looked down at her Mienfoo who let out a little growl, kicking her feet as she swung on the railing. Romelle giggled and hopped down off the railing, helping Lia down once she was on the deck again.

A quick look around has her darting over towards someone else whale watching, hands clasped together as she smiled brightly.]

Do you think I could try those? They help you get a closer look, right?

[Those binoculars you're holding? She'd like to try. Do you dare let her?]

[By now, Armin has gone on these Wailmer watching tours often enough that the people on the ferries all know him by name and face. He just can't help it. No matter how often he sees them, there is a part of him that can't help but be awed each time. And of course he can watch Amber and Princess (and sometimes Bruce) back home, but that is no comparison for some of these huge pods. Especially when they school together to hunt.

In fact, the only thing that could draw his attention away is the girl suddenly popping up at his side, asking to borrow his binoculars. And, you know what, Armin doesn't mind helping out a fellow Wailmer enthusiast.]

Of course. [He holds them out with a small smile.] They look even more amazing close up.

I can only imagine! They seem so large from this far up, up close they must be gigantic! [Taking the binoculars with a happy lip bite, Romelle lifts them as she turns towards the railing and puts them to her eyes.] I was just telling Lia I would love to get one of my own!

[The Mienfoo at her side nods knowingly then moves to haul herself up onto the railing again, squeaking as she points towards where more of the Wailmers are breaching.]

They're like nothing I've ever seen before-- [Romelle stops, pulling the binoculars away from her eyes and glances at Armin a bit sheepishly.] Well. Most of the creatures here are, I suppose.

They are pretty big. Though they are nothing compared to Wailords.

[Still, two meters worth of round whale ball is nothing to sneeze at. Considering that many pokemon are at best human-sized, or much smaller, even as babies, Wailmer dwarf many of them.

His hand lands on the rail as he looks out over the water.]

They are really wonderful pokemon to own. Though they can be a bit difficult to manage due to their need for swimming room and vast quantities of food. They can survive out of the water for a little while, but ideally, they really should have somewhere open they can swim and that isn't always easy to provide.

Wailords? [Romelle blinks, looking from Armin out to the water.] How much bigger are they?

[She's seen large creatures and beings but still. There's always something rather awe-inspiring about encountering them in person for the first time.

Her shoulders slump and she frowns a touch as he explains about their need for space.]

That would pose a bit of a problem...I suppose I'll just have to enjoy them while I can, won't I? [One day. One day she'd have one though!

She perks up again and lifts the binoculars to get a better look as a Wailmer comes up much closer to the boat now.] Oh look look! That one's so close! [Excuse her while she bounces, reaching out blindly with one hand to touch Armin's arm--and actually touches his shoulder in the process.] They really have no fear of the boat at all, do they?

I'M ON A BOAT.

[ From behind Romelle as she spoke to the tourist about the binoculars a Salazzle approached. She stayed lower to the deck as she neared the Mienfoo. Her jaws opened, poison dripping between her fangs as she readied to bite the smaller Pokemon... ]

Is that really any way to treat the companion of a dear old friend?

[ The Salazzle turns her head sharply before scuttling back over to Lotor, who leaned against the railing of the ferry with one hand. ]

Imagine meeting you here, of all the people I could have met. I don't think I ever caught your name before you robbed me of everything I had worked for.

[Any joy Romelle had been experiencing in the moment disappears at the sound of that voice and she hops down off the railing and falls into a fighting stance--one that her Mienfoo mimics.

Especially now that she realizes just what was about to happen.]

You! What are you doing here?!

[Oh this wasn't good, this wasn't good at all he was suppose to be dead!]

I'd like to keep it that way, honestly. You deserved to lose everything after what you did to my people!

As if I have any more if an idea as to why as you do. I'm sure you're in much the same position.

[Lotor was sure he was supposed to be... something. There was a gap. He remembered flashes, but it was tinged with bright light and blood rushing in his ears so fast he could only hear that and the sounds of his ship taking damage.

And his own voice.]

So short sighted, all of you. What species in the entire galaxy hasn't made sacrifices for the betterment of their people? You're naive.

[The Salazzle sticks her tongue out at the Mienfoo, rising to her back legs as flames lick around her mouth.]

I could have risen the Altean empire from the dust yet you're self righteousness robbed our people of our chance.

Our people?

[It's spat out, Romelle clearly not having any of it.]

How dare you call yourself an Altean! How dare you call the countless individuals you murdered your people! You have no right to do such a thing after what you did to them! You never gave any of them a choice--you lied to everyone!

[Beside her, Lia the Mienfoo snarled and shifted her stance, paws starting to glow. Bring it you nasty lizard!]

I could have, but then I'd have to know who you are to do that.

[Lance is peering into the camera looking utterly confused and surprised at the same time. It's an Altean. Another one! They were sure that the only ones left were Allura and Coran, but here one is?

And how does she know Lance?]

Who are you? Where did you come from?

[Okay, now that's just rude.

Romelle frowns and leans in towards the 'gear a bit.]

Very funny, Lance. You don't have to be rude just because you're upset I pressed a few wrong buttons in your lion!

[spacebaloney]

[How about you back up a little, lady? Don't get mad this guy who is behind the times doesn't recognize you. If you're a fan, you are a terrible one.]

Okay, first of all, what the quiznak are you doing in my Lion? Secondly, DON'T TOUCH BLUE! Third, who are you? I thought the only Alteans left were Allura and Coran?

[That has her leaning back a bit in surprise.]

Why would I touch the princess's lion? And I was in your lion because you said I could travel back to Earth with you! [And frustration seeps in again.] Why are you acting like you have no idea who I am? I'm Romelle! From the Altean colony!

[He was literally about to ask how this person knew Allura, but then? Then he gets a better look at the video feed. Gets a better look, and just gapes.]

Who are you?

[This is a costume or something, right? This is a joke. Someone Lance knows trying to be funny. There can't be another --]

[She stops. Then squints.]

Oh don't tell me you've hit your head as well. Lance is acting strange and now you're acting like you don't know me--is this some sort of game you're all playing??

[Wellp, sorry Romelle this is more than a little shocking to someone whose last memory was a neurotic owl-ferret yammering about realities.]

[Sure, Matt's a rocket scientist, but he enjoys a good whale watch every so often. Startled, he turns from the binoculars and smiles, waving a hand at them. He's wearing a Scientist outfit, a lab coat over, instead of a shirt and pants, a flowery shirt and some long shorts.]

Oh! Sure! The Wailmer are really awesome, aren't they?

[Romelle is about to take a turn at the binoculars when she stops and looks at the young man again. His attire is a bit strange but that's not what has her attention.

There's something about his face..]

Have we met before?

[He looks at her for a moment, confused.]

Are you Altean? I was going to ask if you knew my sister, because we look a lot alike, but, um. I didn't know there were more Alteans.

[Matt tends to miss all of the memos.]

Yes, I spoke to Lance already. He's been...he's been terrible!

[She's not pleased.

Oh, there's the text function! She switches it over, glad to be off camera given how flustered she looks.]

They were really strange and called Yalmors or something like that. Coran had us tracking them down and then one of them shrunk us!!!

[Oh hey! There's a voice and a face that Pidge didn't think she'd be hearing again for a while.

So in just a second, the video feed is coming on and there's a familiar, friendly face smiling at you through the camera.]

Sorry Romelle, but we didn't quite get here through an unscheduled landing. Trust me.

[Can you hear the relief in her voice? It has been an extremely trying day so far, Pidge and she is so glad to have someone actually recognize her!]

It's so good to hear from you! Shiro told me you were here! This place is extremely strange and no one knows who I am--

[She sounds a bit distraught about that.]

--so it's really good to hear from you!

[Her smile just grows a bit, even as it takes a turn for the slightly more anxious.]

Yeah, it's... weird. There are a bunch of running theories, but the general consensus is that everyone's been pulled out of different points along the timeline and brought here. There isn't really a way back, either. The only real good news is that it's a stable planet with a lot of fantastic resources.

The last thing I remember from before ending up here was when we decided to head back to Earth.
